Using Brainscape Clarifiers to aid acronym recall

I'm preparing for exams that involve many acronyms. I began creating new study cards to cover these acronyms, but then I discovered the clarifier field on Brainscape. This feature gives me options about how to spell out each acronym. Clarifiers are available on both sides of the card, so I can use them as hints or provide the full term in my responses.

There is also the footnote field. I found the key difference is that the clarifier field is limited to 72 characters. That makes the display easy to read. The footnote field provides more space, and I use it for notes or to link to references.

The big win for me was managing the card count. I like that Brainscape presents ten cards at a time. Some of my decks had 80-120 cards before I started adding acronym-specific cards. Using the clarifier field, I can combine a knowledge check with an acronym check on one card, which keeps my card counts down and makes my flashcard study sessions more productive.
