Anyone inundated with pest control salesmen this summer?

I’ve had three so far… all young dudes maybe 20. All with the exact same script… who do i use for pest control? Then throwing out names of supposed neighbors supposedly using them that I’ve never heard of, all the while ignoring my No Soliciting sign. Annoying AF!

bremertonions don’t have logic apparently

do people here not have any sort of basic understanding of social concepts? for context, our home is up for rent and we are moving at the end of the month. today, i was alerted by my ring camera that movement was sensed, thinking nothing of it, i checked to find a man with his hands pressed against the glass of our front windows, looking into our obviously occupied home.

in the past month, this is about the 3rd time random people have shown up at our house to look inside of it without an appointment or any given knowledge to the home owners or us, the renters. the first time, it was a group of people who told us they just wanted to look inside the fully furnished, still occupied home. obviously not and we told them to leave. we told the guy today the same thing, that this is private property and to not return without an appointment.

even if they didn’t know an appointment was needed, there is a sign planted right in front of our door reading “no solicitors.” i’m over it at this point and it makes me self-conscious to just walk through my home in fear someone could just be looking into our home.

Y’all are ridiculous at Chick Fil A

I mean you guys act like you have never had a chicken sandwich before in y’all’s life. Complete A holes to the workers and staff there. Bremerton continues to show me that Washington people fucking blow.

Anyone who hasn’t been, stay far away until it EVENTUALLY chills out if it ever does. Absolutely mind boggling to how many entitled man children are in this town/state over some fucking chicken.

Edit: I’ve seen a lot of people make the comment of homophobic chicken, or something in that realm and I just wanted to say, nothing about this post said anything about sexuality or anything. If your mantra in life is worried about a chicken owners opinions, you don’t have to shop there and probably need to figure out your priorities. So stop fucking telling me about it. I could literally give a fuck less that you don’t support Chick-fil-A. I don’t care if your Bi, Queer, Trans, LGBTQ or what ever else you identify or there is either. I don’t have a problem with anyone of the sorts but god damn man. Some of yall are the most miserable mfs on the internet. This was a post only said anything about the morons of Bremerton, who crowd and can’t act right at this place.

Century Homes Bremerton wa

My wife and I bought a new home from Century Homes and we started noticing these lines in our ceilings upstairs and downstairs after a few short months later these lines became fully visible. We ask warranty to please come over and look at them. We were told at our 1 year home inspection they would address everything as it's not a safety thing. We trusted them and now we have hit our one year and warranty told us that this is cosmetic in the ceiling not structural. We said every four foot we have a 6 inch line from wall to wall covering our whole downstairs. He told us Century Homes wouldn't fix this. I contacted a Licensed contractor who told us that Century Homes used to much mud in the joints and it would have to be sanded down re-mudded and repainted. I asked for a estimate which came to 40 thousand dollars. Why should I be stuck with this bill? We bought brand new. Shame on you Century Homes.

Considering a move

I’m relocating to the area soon and I’ve been considering Bremerton for renting. I haven’t formally accepted a job offer yet but they are all in downtown Seattle. However, I have one opportunity in Silverdale (with lower pay).

My question is about the area. Are there any areas to avoid? For reference, I’m a 35 F with a 14 yr old daughter.

How is the high school? I’m reading alot of mixed reviews online.

Any advice is appreciated! :)

House/Rent hunting

there is a very real chance that we (3 people, 5 animals) will not be allowed to renew the lease on the house we currently rent. if we're right, its because the landlords are fixing up the neighboring unit and will likely try to rent out both units to one client instead of splitting them up like they have been. we will message the landlords tomorrow and hopefully know for sure how stressed to be 🙃

but in the meantime, does anyone have any pointers on where to look for a new place? obviously, we'd prefer to rent a house since we have the animals, but i also understand that we're not in a position to be picky.

this is my first time in this position, and i was not the one to find the house we currently rent; literally any advice and info would be very welcomed

Fast ferry service cuts on 8/31. Is there nothing that can be done?

UPDATE: Lets talk about it! I’m trying to see if folks are happy with how things are or if there is a desire for compromise.

Finding A Balanced Solution for More Fast Ferry Sailings

I moved here because of the cost of living and easy accessible fast commute to seattle. But that’s about to change with half of the fast ferry sailings going away due to state funding. I feel like this is a huge deal and I haven’t heard much rumbling about it.

Cat rescued from homeless camp (suspected abuse) in need of help

See post text (post is by Ziggy's Cat Lounge in Bremerton) -- this cat needs life saving surgery within the next two weeks, and they are asking if any local rescues are able to help him, or if vets in the area would be willing to help him at a discounted rate.
