What made you properly believe in this Bristol City team?

For me, it wasn’t one particular result. It was seeing the team start to look like they genuinely had a bit of belief and character about them. Those little moments where you come away from a game feeling like something is building are what make a season exciting.

Thank you Joe Bryan

Saw this week that Joe Bryan retired. He was my favorite player and when he left Bristol City I would always have a soft spot for whichever club he played on. A local kid who was reliable and provided several memorable moments for us, truly was always such a joy to watch on the pitch.

I really wished he had signed again with us later in his career but I can’t fault him for wanting to stay in London if he really liked living there.

Joe, you are a Bristol City icon, and forever an absolute legend in my book. Wishing you the best of luck in retirement, and I hope it brings you lots of coffee, photography, and books.

Max Bird joins Birmingham

Max Bird has joined Birmingham City for an undisclosed fee.

The 25-year-old made 68 City appearances since summer 2024, scoring three goals, including last season’s Champagne Moment award winner.

His late equaliser against Wrexham won the supporters’ award after his dramatic volley secured a point for City in the 89th minute.

Sporting Director James Ellis said: “Max has made a positive contribution to the club, whilst also having some challenging periods. In my short time here, he has been very professional and done all he can to get himself – and us – ready for the season.

“I have mentioned previously that there will be some tough decisions to make and we believe this is the best move for both the club and Max.

“He goes with our blessing and everyone at the club wishes Max all the best for his future career.”

Bird initially signed a deal with the Robins from Derby County in January 2024, before re-joining the Rams on loan until the end of the 2023/24 season.

“I want to say a huge thank you to the club and the fans who have always been behind me since I joined two years ago,” said Bird.

“I have many great memories and I’ve met some brilliant people here. I wish the club all the very best for the future.”

International Advice

Hey everyone,

I’m an American looking to get into English football and wanted to align myself with a local club. Digging into my family history, my ancestors came from the Mendip Hills area in Somerset (around Wells and Priddy).

Looking at a map, Ashton Gate is the main professional ground right down the road from that region, so Bristol City feels like the natural fit. Before I go all-in on the Robins, I wanted to drop in and ask a few quick questions:

Regional Support: For folks living down in North Somerset or the Mendips, is City the default local club for most people down that way?

Following Overseas: Is Robins TV the best option for streaming matches live from the US? Also, what are the go-to fan forums or podcasts to keep up with team news?

Local Etiquette: Anything specific an overseas fan should know about the club culture, history, or fan base?

Appreciate any advice or matchday insights. Up the Robins! 🔴⚪

19th December - Bristol City vs Cardiff City

Hi all - I'm in Bristol for Christmas and am wanting to go to the Cardiff game. Aware as matches go, this will be one of the more difficult ones to get tickets for.

Do games usually sell out at Ashton Gate, or do you think it will be easy enough to get a pair of tickets on general sale?

Does anyone know where I can look up the latest chants please? There are a few new ones I'd like to join in on and I always forgot the first line of the Scott Twine chant!
