Soulful, Reliable, and Drama-Free: Riqi is looking for a new NYC nest! 🌿✨

Hey everyone! I’m a grounded gay guy and long-term New Yorker (here since '01) looking for a calm, safe place to land.

About me: I work in patient care and facilitate support groups at the LGBTQ Center. When I’m not working, I’m a singer-songwriter and holistic living enthusiast. I value a "reset" vibe at home—no smoking, no chaos, just good energy and respect. I’ve been in my current spot for 7 years, and my landlord calls me the "father of the building" because I’m so dependable.

The Logistics:

💰 Budget: $1,250- with wiggle room

📍 Neighborhoods: Anywhere with a solid commute to Downtown Manhattan.

🏠 Space: Open to a studio, 1BR, or a shared situation with a LARGE room.

🐾 Bonus: I love animals!

I’m moving because my current landlady (who is like family) is changing the lease structure of the building. I have excellent rental history and solid references. If you have a lead or a room that needs a respectful, soulful addition, please reach out!

Sending light and love,

Asé, asé

Hi everyone! Looking for people to fill two rooms in Bushwick for a July 1st move in (1 year lease, w/ flexibility to sublet if ur plans change) looking to sign ASAP! I would prefer female roommates, anywhere from 22-30. I’m 24F, working in education currently. I don’t really work remote on weekdays, so that’s all you if that’s needed! LGBT friendly, no pets sadly :(

I go out sometimes, but I don’t bring the party home. I usually clean periodically, and I’d prefer to keep common spaces clean. Totally fine with guests and friends coming over as well.

Within a 1 minute walk of the Central Ave M (it’s across from it), 5-10 minutes to thrift shops, cafes, bars, and 10-13 minutes to Maria Hernandez Park, prime Bushwick nightlife, and 10 minute walk to the Myrtle-broadway JMZ.

The building is relatively new.
Furnished!
In-unit washer-dryer
Dishwasher
Full sized fridge
Gym in building (treadmill, erg, Smith machine, etc)
Rooftop
24/7 virtual doorman
Elevator (not a walk-up)
Responsive landlords when there are any issues!
On top of a grocery store, across from a deli, and 4 min walk to a slightly cheaper grocery store

The room w/ more space, larger closet, and more light is $1500, and the smaller bedroom is $1450. Both can fit a full/queen bed! My roommates will also be selling furniture so it can come furnished or unfurnished.

Deposit is 2 months rent upfront but the landlords can be flexible with rent!

Comment or message me if ur interested !! Looking to have someone pretty soon

I made a 311 complaint a year ago and now I’m getting denied from every apartment

The title pretty much says it all. I’m applying as a roommate replacement and keep getting denied by mgmt. I know it’s not due to financials because I meet the criteria. When I ask the reason for the denial I do not get any substantive answer. The 311 complaint was one time a year ago. I’m not a problematic tenant, have no complaints, pay rent every month, and have not called in any other complaints.

Is there anything I can do? This doesn’t feel legal.

Easygoing, Responsible Gay Man Looking for a Peaceful Home 🕉️

👋🏼** Hey, how’s it going**?
I’m a laid-back, grounded gay guy originally from North Carolina, but NYC has been home since 2001. I’ve spent time in other cities, but I always find my way back here—nothing really compares.

A little about me:
I’m pretty chill and value a calm, positive home environment. I’m a singer-songwriter and involved in a progressive, community-focused gospel choir. I’m into holistic living, good energy, and just keeping things peaceful and drama-free. Home, to me, should feel like a reset.

What it’s like living with me:
I’m clean, respectful, and easy to live with. I tend to keep to myself during the week and don’t bring the party home. No smoking, no chaos—just a relaxed, respectful vibe. My landlord actually calls me the “father of the building” because I’m reliable and take care of things, so you’ll never have to worry about someone dropping the ball around the house.

I also have a good sense of humor and get along well with all kinds of people. I’m social when it feels right, but I definitely value my personal space too.

Logistics:

I work in patient care across the city and also help facilitate support groups at the LGBTQ Center
Looking to stay close to a subway that makes commuting easy (Downtown Manhattan access is key)
Budget is around $1,250-with wiggle room!
Open to a Studio,
1BR, or
a large room in a clean shared space.
I’ve been in my current place for 7 years with a solid rental history and great references

I’m looking for a place that feels calm, safe, and respectful—somewhere I can recharge but also be part of a good household dynamic.

If that sounds like a fit, would love to connect.

Looking for room (Brooklyn currently)

Hello i’m Mia 24f

I currently live in Brooklyn and am looking for a new roomate & apartment for a late July/August 1st move in.

For a little about me, I was born and raised in Chicago, with the classic midwestern charm. I work full time selling women’s designer shoes in Manhattan. I also attend Yoga classes weekly in Williamsburg. I was a fashion design dropout, but am still very passionate about growing within the industry.

Pros of living with me:
-kind & considerate
-clean
-cooks (see final pictures) (vegan of 6+ years but not judgemental, my current roommates are not vegan)
-good listener
-very financially responsible and never late on a bill
-i have no pets (that is one of my
current roommate’s cats in the pizza picture)
-out of the house majority of the week
-extremely emotionally mature and rational

My current rent is $1,250, I could probably
swing a little more, and a little less would always be nice. I am very open on the location as long as my
commute doesn't significantly increase as it is already 50 minutes. I am open to all Burroughs although I do really enjoy living in Brooklyn. Ideally I’d love to live with other women but I am
open to those of all gender identities.

Please message me if interested!

Edit: Please stop asking me on dates in my dms, download tinder.

Subleasing my room in Williamsburg (Montrose L) while I’m away for an art residency

Hey everyone, I'm looking for someone to sublease my room (July 12 - September 30) while I'm out of the country for a residency.

Rent is $1700/month plus $100-150 for utilities, and the apartment has 2 bathrooms, in-unit laundry, a full kitchen, full private patio and a comfortable shared living space.

You'd be sharing the apartment with 3 girls, and my boss (my cat). It's a place where people actually say hey in the kitchen and get along, but also respect each other's space.

The room itself gets great light, is fully furnished, and feels quiet even when the apartment's busy. Perfect if you need a calm place to focus, rest, or just have a consistent base while you're in the city.

Looking for someone responsible and easygoing.

If this sounds like a fit, shoot me a message and I can send more details or set up a quick tour.

Please send a dm! It's easier for me to keep track/reply on Instagram @ohdarij

June 1- Bushwick Luxury Building 2 Bed 1 Bath $4000/Month

Hey everyone, looking for someone to take over my 2B1B at The Stanwix (115 Stanwix St) in Bushwick/East Williamsburg. It’s $4K total per month, and we split 1950/2050 due to one room being slightly larger/having a door to the balcony).

The apartment itself is great—super bright with huge floor-to-ceiling windows, central AC, and a modern kitchen with a dishwasher. It also has built-in Alexa smart home tech (built in speakers, video intercom,
light adjustment, etc).

The building amenities are honestly the best part. Here is what you get access to:

The Roof: Huge rooftop deck with grills and awesome views of the Manhattan skyline.
Gym: Full fitness center and a separate yoga studio so you can skip a gym membership.
WFH Spaces: Good co-working setups and conference rooms if you work from home.
Lounges: A movie screening room, pool table, and spots to hang out.
The Basics: Doorman, secure package room, laundry in the building, and bike storage.
Location-wise, it’s super convenient. You can easily walk to the Morgan Ave (L) ~8 mins, or the Flushing Ave (J/M) trains ~10 mins, so getting into Manhattan or around Brooklyn is really quick. It’s walking distance from Maria Hernandez Park,
and so many amazing bars/restaurants/warehouses if you’re feeling dancey!

My roomate is going to grad school out of state which is the only reason we aren’t renewing!! We’ve genuinely had a great time here and I’m honestly looking to move back into a different unit later this year once things have settled on my end. We’ve had an amazing year hosting and being so close
to so many amazing bars and restaurants in the area (HMU for recs if interested!).

We’re looking for someone to take over June 1 (last minute which I apologize for, but was planning on renewing until a fam emergency meant I couldn’t sign onto another year long lease at this time), and I’m
happy to chat through anything, send a walk through video, or set up a tour! PM me if interested.

*also apologies for the clutter, we’re in the midst of packing/selling things! That being said, much of the furniture/appliances are also for sale*

you can check out the building info here: https://115stanwix.com

Hi all! My name is Joe and I’m currently looking for a room/roommates for July or August. I know it’s early, but I figured I’d start the hunt early. I’m a 25 years old guy, looking for a place in Brooklyn. I work in Brooklyn Heights as the program director for a Church. My budget is $1600 MAX. Looking for a one year lease but open to a lease takeover. Ideally looking to live with one or two people around my age. Not trying to force a friendship, but ideally I’d like to be friendly with them, maybe grab a drink or hang out once in while. I’m an extroverted and social guy who loves to go out. Credit score is 770. LGBT friendly! Feel free to DM if you think we’d be a good fit. My instagram is jobrien718 if you want to chat there. Thanks!!!!

ISO 2 bedroom in BK for August 1 move in

I know it's early but I want to get a head start on finding a place! I'm looking for a two bedroom for me and my roommate in brooklyn for under 3k. We currently live in bedstuy/bushwick and would be willing to stay there, but also willing to explore crown heights, prospect lefferts, prospect park south, kensington, ridgewood, williamsburg, greenpoint, or, if a miracle strikes, somewhere like park slope, clinton hill, prospect heights. Basically, just looking for an apartment for a good price somewhere in north/central brooklyn. If anyone has any advice, leads, ideas, etc. please feel free to reach out!
