Why are the 2026 Buckethead shows so dimly lit?
I saw Buckethead in Phoenixville last night. I've seen him live many times, but brought a friend seeing him for the first time. The show was pretty much his usual fare, except for the lighting. That night, and now seemingly every other night in 2026, the stage is only illuminated by a dim blue light.
Normally I try to go to general admission shows where I can show up early and be near the stage, but this venue had assigned seating and I could only get seats 9-10 rows back when I got around to ordering tickets. To be clear, I've been that far back before, and it wasn't a problem when the stage was well lit. Maybe he looked okay from the front row, but from as far back as we were, it was hard to see his hands, hard to see him in general, and (if you're like me and don't have a real camera and are just trying to get pictures on your phone at that distance) it was very hard to get pictures with that lighting as well.
My friend and I enjoyed the experience, except for the lighting. Why are the latest shows so dimly lit? This isn't a Sunn O))) show or something where you want it dark and barely able to see the artist on stage. Call me old fashioned, but I want to be able to SEE Buckethead on stage when he performs live.
