Acer Predator vs Lenovo Legion

Help me decide in between these two:

Option 1:

ACER PREDATOR HELIOS NEO 16

32GB ram, Rtx 5060, 180Hz IPS display, Ultra 9 275 HX, 1TB SSD

https://www.canadacomputers.com/en/gaming-laptops/273690/acer-predator-helios-neo-16-ultra-9-275hx-rtx-5060-32gb-1tb-win11h-nhqvqaa001.html

Option 2:

LENOVO LEGION PRO 5i

32GB ram, Rtx 5060, 165Hz OLED display, Ultra 9 275 HX, 1TB SSD

https://www.canadacomputers.com/en/gaming-laptops/272686/lenovo-legion-pro-5i-16-intel-ultra-9-275hx-rtx-5060-32gb-1tb-win11h-83f3001fcc.html

I know legion comes with OLED, but ive seen my frnds having issues with legion. And personally ive been using predator (2019 rtx 2060 model) for the last 7 years and it worked like a beast.

Also I personally love the design of Predator over Legion. But recently ive seen so many threads complaining about Neo 16 thermals. And not so many complaints for legion.

So I dont know what to consider. Help me choosing the right choice. Both are currently on Sale for 2199$ CAD (\~ 1550$ USD).

Need some help with laptop buying research please

I am a student going to Uni and I need a laptop. However I don't know anything about the different kinds of specs, so I don't know what exactly I'm looking for. I want a laptop which is good for studying (which imo should be any up to date laptop, correct me if I'm wrong), but I also want one which can run Minecraft, smaller steam games (most probably those small 'friendslop' games) and which can run geforce Now Streaming smoothly. I also wouldn't mind some good sound quality for watching movies. What specs specifics should I look for and which should I avoid? Note that I'm not looking for specific laptop recommendations, as I want to do the research myself, however I just need to know how to go about the research and what to look for so that I can find the laptop myself

Hi! Don't know laptops and what is what so would appreciate help!

So I'm planning on saving 1k for a laptop and I need to know what brand is the best. I need it to be able to handle high end steam games like phasmophobia and one called escape room that has player built rooms alongside the games already made rooms. Lethal company is another. Escape the backrooms. High end games. And I found this laptop on Walmart after Google research but I'm not sure if it's good for what I want and if not I would like a better option. I also keep getting recommended Lenovo during research but I'm not sure about it. Any help is appreciated!

Forgot to add the laptop link so here it is.

I'm looking for a new laptop for school, but I'm trying to find one that could also play 76.

I bought the game back in Christmas of 2022. But it's been sitting in steam because my laptop couldn't handle it. Any decent recommendations for a Best buy laptop?

Lenovo legion pro 7i vs Asus Strix g16

Budget: 2k ish
Country: US
Specs: 32gb, RTX 5070Ti, 1TB, 16”
Note: are these prices normal??

Hey guys I have been searching ab gaming laptops and these 2 were the ones that came up, most ppl say Lenovo is better but I still think paying ~ 2.7 k is crazy!!

Would there be any better deals? I would’ve gotten it if it was like 2.1-2.3 k but idk if I should wait or not and maybe I’m being delusional…

And is the intel ver better or amd?

Thank you!

Laptop for playing Classic WOW

Hello everyone, I have been playing a lot of Classic Hardcore and I am loving it. I have a decent PC but borrowed a laptop recently while travelling and it was nice to be able to log in for a bit while laying in bed 😄

I was wondering if anyone has suggestions on a very economical laptop that would be able to run Classic decently? Does anyone have current experience with laptops in the 300-400 price range? I have a feeling that 800$ would be a much better entry price to have for this but I am tight on money and but also was thinking about getting one for my girlfriend to play on, haha ❤️

Thanks for any ideas!

Looking into upgrading my Gaming Laptop

I've had my gaming laptop for almost 2 years now, but I've been looking to upgrade, however I don't know much about laptops/pcs and specs so I'd like to ask for suggestions.

I would prefer a laptop, but I wouldn't mind also getting a PC, my budget is around $1k-$2.5k I can go a bit higher but not much.

I'm a voice actor, content creator and a gamer (actively playing Honkai Star Rail, Wuthering Waves, Neverness to Everness etc) I already have a keyboard and mouse I like as well as a monitor, that I've been using as a 2nd screen.

My current laptop is the ASUS TUF A15 Gaming Laptop (24 version)

I appreciate any suggestions!

Buying for the first time

Budget: $1500
Country: USA
Use Case: Gaming and college
Preferred Specs: matching or better then an Xbox series x
Notes: I’m not very knowledgeable on tech so I don’t know terms that well and just really like games. I would like to hear multiple options and even options higher than listed. I currently play on the Xbox series x. I’m looking for something that can run newer games and popular mods on games like Minecraft and terraria. I would like something that has a strong battery life
Edit: im willing to go up to $1800 and the battery life should last around 6-9 hours when doing stuff like studying not gaming

Need help choosing the right laptop

Need help choosing the right laptop

I want to get a gaming laptop but don't know what to look for

I wanna get a gaming laptop that can handle Cyberpunk 77, Squad , Arma reforger , Chivalry 2 , and other games like open world or battlefield. In the US and budget of 800-1500$. Budget can change if needed but would like to stay under 2k.

As long as it can run cyberpunk 77 in high settings and no problems would be the best.

Budget: (800-1500$ usd )

Country: ( USA )

Just gaming and maybe videos or music

Gaming Laptop or Work Laptop?

Hey, I’ve stumbled across a problem of mine I need sone advice on. So first of all you should now that I’m a TOTAL noob in tech stuff. I literally have no idea of anything and am very much struggling therefore. Please bear with me.
So I’ve been thinking about getting a Laptop and don’t know what to look out for and what product to buy.

  1. I’m a big fan of the sims 4 (with cc included) and would
really like to be able to play it (without it almost blowing up) and I wanna play Genshin Impact as well.
  2. Additionally, I want to use it for work related stuff too as in using word, excel, teams…
  3. I want to take it to work with me without breaking my back every day, so something not too heavy would be great
  4. I want the battery to hold possibly long
  5. Budget: 0-2000€ (the cheaper the better)

I’ve tried to inform myself on my own a little but it actually only overwhelmed me because of all the different models and stuff. I’ve read that gaming laptops tend to be really heavy and the battery runs out more easily which both things I’d like to avoid, but laptops intended for work use only are easily overwhelmed with games especially ones that take a lot of storage like sims + cc and genshin? (I’m not sure if the storage is the problem, please don’t kill me I have no idea what I’m talking about really)
As far as I know, the graphics are also a big factor in deciding which model to buy so I’m just gonna mention it doesn’t matter to me that much. I’ve been playing genshin in my Ipad Air 5 for like 3 years now and I’m fine with that. It would be really cool if the graphics were better but it’s not the most important part and I don’t want this to decide whether it’ll be 700€ or 2000€.

I’d really appreciate some help and if you have any further questions, just hmu please :)

Looking for mid-tier laptop within RM3-4k budget

Hi, I'm looking to upgrade my father to a better laptop. He's learning to do some editing work using photoshop and Premiere Pro (nothing too advanced) and his current laptop is getting pretty outdated. Other than that, he doesn't game, just usual YouTube and web browsing and the daily Microsoft Office suite.

Some key specs that I would prefer to have:

  1. 16 or 32GB RAM

  2. Graphics card - Ideally something in the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 unless you think this is overkill.

  3. 1TB storage

Would you happen to have a ready built laptop model to recommend in the market? I'm not a laptop user, so I'm pretty vague about the market today. Or if building a laptop is recommended, appreciate if you can advice any credible shops that I can consult with within PJ/KL. Much thanks!

Need help finding a NEW gaming laptop under ₹60k in India 😭

Hey everyone, I genuinely need a laptop for studying, coding/AI work, and some gaming, but ₹60,000 is my absolute maximum budget. I cannot stretch it to ₹65–70k+.

My ideal specs are:

  • RTX 3050 6GB VRAM
  • 16GB RAM
  • i5/Ryzen 5 or better
  • 512GB SSD
  • NEW only — no second-hand/refurbished

I've been looking everywhere (Flipkart, Amazon, Tata Neu, Acer/Lenovo/ASUS stores, etc.), and I'm finding plenty of old/out-of-stock listings around ₹50–60k, but almost nothing that's actually in stock and purchasable at that price.

I've seen people mention getting the Acer Nitro V 7535HS + RTX 3050 6GB around ₹52–60k during sales, so I know these deals have existed.

Can anyone recommend a currently available NEW laptop under ₹60k, or tell me where/how I should watch for these deals?

Even if it's not RTX 3050 6GB, I'm open to alternatives if there's a significantly better option within ₹60k.

Please help 😭🙏
