Is there a known time when. The Burlington Canal Bridge lifts up?

Silly question but.. there isn't a scheduled time on each day correct? And is just based on random incomings?

Asking this so it can help me save some time to n fro as i lose almost 15 mins to that

OB's at Joe Brant

Hey, newer mom's of Reddit... need some help/advice.

So I just found out that even though I’ve spent month's building a relationship with an OB, that there is a VERY small chance she is going to be the one delivering my baby. That basically when you get to the hospital you get whomever is on call that day.

As someone who has not had even 1 single good experience with this hospital, I was kind of banking on being able to rely on the Dr. I've built a relationship with and that i could trust HER, even if I don't trust the hospital. But now thats right out the window.

Are there any doctors that, if they are on call that day, I should turn around and go to a different hospital? Any who force their opinions on to their patients? Any who you had AMAZING experiences with? DM me if you dont want to share publicly. Please help me, I am 4 weeks from my due date and FREAKING OUT.

Social groups for neurodivergent kids and teens in Burlington

Posted with moderator permission.

Hi Burlington Parents! I’m Alicia, a registered social worker with Calm Guidance Counselling & Support here in Burlington.

We run small, fun groups for neurodivergent kids and teens, including those with ADHD, autism, anxiety, or difficulty making friends. They offer a comfortable place to be themselves, learn practical skills, build confidence, and connect with kids who understand them.

These aren’t classroom style groups. They are trully really fun! We include music, games, pizza, snacks, conversation, and plenty of time to socialize and have fun.

If this sounds like something your child or teen would enjoy, you can find our current groups and registration details here:

I’m also happy to answer any questions!

Vasectomy options…

I went for a consultation with Dr Tam today, I did not get much of a good feeling just being in that office. Who do people recommend? I’m also keen to know who offers what in the way of sedation etc. thank you

SweetCraft Desserts on Brant street might be closing down. Highly recommend trying them out before they're gone!

Posted with mod's permission.

I go there pretty frequently and get birthday cakes from there too. It's my favourite place to get a little sweet treat. Stopped in today and the owner told me that SweetCraft might not be there anymore in a few months! Was absolutely gutted to hear that. So I just wanted to pass this along if anyone is in the mood to try the place out.

It's a really cool bakery with amazing desserts. Brownies, blondies, cookies, dessert squares, and mini cakes are usually always on offer. They also do fun drinks like dirty sodas and lattes. The owner is a super awesome woman so it's not just the sweet treats I'm going to miss, but the chit-chat too. I used to run my own business too so I know the struggle and am just really feeling for the owner's situation right now.

She makes this almond cookie with salted maple toffee drizzle and it's amazing. But everything I've tried there has always been good.

So if you're in the mood for a little sweet treat and want to show a local small business some love, definitely stop by while you can! Even if the business can't be saved, maybe we can give it a nice send off.

Looking for chiropractor reccos

I know chiropractic is a little bit controversial, but I personally find it to be beneficial for me. However, I feel like every time I find a chiropractor they’re always trying to sell me a package. 💸

Does anyone have any recommendations for chiropractors who will just treat me on an as needed basis without the added pressure to buy?

2 1/2 Hours Scarborough to Burlington?

I'm helping some friends move from Scarborough to Burlington the first week of September. Just the packing part. They have a big house so they're using a local moving company (Miracle Movers), but they sent me the timeline for the move and it seems... excessive. The quote includes an estimated 2 1/2 hours of drive time between Scarborough and Burlington, which is like twice as long as it takes. Is this normal with movers? I can't imagine it taking 2+ hours to get from one side of the GTA to the other.

Fun times on the 403

First a motorcycle lane splitting (I see this at least once a week), then a driver popping up to merge at the last possible second, without even signalling.

Driving on Ontario highways is truly a nightmare, and somehow I've never been in a crash in my almost 30 years of driving on them.

Brant and Olga street demolition

Does anyone have any info on the building that is being demolished on the corner of Brant and Olga street? I know it had a fire a few months back. Is anything else being built in its place?
