Pain after cortisone

Hello everyone. I just had my first cortisone injection in my hip after a flare up and oh my goodness I wasn't expecting the pain to be worse! It burns and feels tight now, is this normal? If so, how long did it last for you? Or should I be calling my ortho and getting back in to see him? Thanks in advance and have a beautiful day!

Dual hip bursitis, any tips?

I just recently got diagnosed with multiple tendinopathies in the glutes and hips areas after four years of chronic pain that progressively got worse. I was obese and lost an extreme amount of weight due to an eating disorder so my tendons didn't get nutrients.

Four days ago, I spent a day sitting on the floor while sewing and I was in a bit of pain, but sitting never caused major flare ups. This time both my hips started to burn and it doesn't seem to stop whatsoever, I can't sleep without waking up with pain. I sleep on my back because of my other tendinopathy problems, otherwise I get pain in other areas.

I'm currently taking Ibuprofen 600mg x2 a day, Calcium and stretching, but have no idea of what exercises can help and I'm waiting on my physiotherapy appointment on Tuesday. Anyone can give some tips?

Help on what to do next

I’ve had Chronic Bursitis for over 5 years now in my right shoulder. I’ve been to the doctors tried ointment, steroids, physical therapy for 2 years, etc. it’s gotten to the point where the doctors have told me there’s nothing else they can do. For a while it felt like it went away but recently it’s come back full force. I’m just at a loss at what to do at this point. Should I see the doctors again? Do physical therapy again? I just don’t know how to get the pain to go away. Any recommendations on pain management or what I should do next would be greatly appreciated.

Who do I see?

I’ve been experiencing crazy hip pain. Sleeping sucks. I’ve tried heating pads, intense stretching, tons of hip and glute exercises. What doctor do I see? I’m suspecting bursitis. Maybe lack of estrogen due to perimenopause? Do I see a pcp? Ortho? Sports medicine doctor? I don’t want to waste time (or money) jumping around without relief. My insurance doesn’t require preauth. I was hoping to try a steroid injection for quick relief.

Massage or chiropractor for pain?

Female Age 66 165 lbs 5’6”

I have spent past hour reading posts. Not encouraging, but it is what it is. I was diagnosed with dual hip bursitis a couple of years ago. I’ve done multi rounds of PT sessions (regularly reupping when insurance runs out). Although anything to strengthen core is good, the exercises haven’t really helped with the issue. I’ll admit, I tend to power through pain, but I’ve gotten to the point where I can’t do it anymore.

I was just on an 6 week journey that involved lots of hiking and walking. Ice was not available and getting a hold of Ibuprofen was tricky. Well now I’m really cooked. I blame myself.

Has anyone tried working with a chiropractor to help align hips? I don’t even know if there is such a method. I also don’t know how to go about finding a practitioner.

How about massage? I know it needs to avoid the bursa, so I’m guessing it’s some sort of specialty.

Best Hip Bursitis Doctors in Arizona?

Not sure if this is the right sub, but my mother is struggling with the pain of hip bursitis and I'm desperately trying to find someone REALLY GOOD for her, as many doctors are kinda discounting her and such. She's having a fusion coming up which should hopefully help though.

I'd imagine she needs some PT + microfrequency treatments
