Help find cars real value

A few days ago someone crashed their car into most of my family's cars. They came around our corner too fast and hit the front of our C30('08), bounced off into our XC60('12), and pushed that into our XC90('09 V8) that had its passenger door dented in. The only Volvo that survived was my S60R which was in another driveway.

Because of the age of the cars, of course the insurance companies want to total them out. The XC60 is the only one that really deserves it. We're trying to find the best course of action to prove the real world value of the other two.

The C30 is an R design 6 speed (adjuster listed it as an auto) with 75k on it and (was) in excellent condition. Clutch / master cylinder replaced about 10k miles ago, all new suspension within the past year. All its written up for is the bumper cover / grill and underlying parts, the radiator support (which looked fine to me on quick inspection but I know something could have been hidden), and hood. If I were to get the parts myself Id get a used grill and air guide, instead of the ones they're quoting at close to $400 a piece for.

R design wing

Does anyone know if there's anywhere I can find the wing from the r design online? I've looked on eBay but haven't had any luck finding anything, wondering if they make an aftermarket version

Sign to replace axle?

Looked under my C30 for the first time today when it was at the shop for an oil change. Saving up to replace the springs and shocks and tires still.

Noticed the passenger side boot is torn and weeping oil - not a ton, it doesn’t look like. I’ve read that on P1 Volvos the axle is more or less a wear part. With this tear, the oil, and 79k miles, is this a sign I should replace the axle?

I don’t think I have any other symptoms - the ride does get rough at 55-70mph (vibration I can feel in my legs and seat) that smooths out below 50 and above 75. But I think that’s due to horribly balanced tires.

stuck fiddling with this radiator for 6 hours….

Thought I had it in me to do the radiator swap (it was leaking) and oh my god. 12 hours straight getting everything off (that damn airbox). But now I’m genuinely stuck, I either can’t get the stack high enough or aligned properly so that top plastic piece can clip on. It feels like maybe it doesn’t fit but it’s the same size and shape as my old one save for the end tank maybe being bent a little (shown)? Do I stop trying to install this thing and call FCP and tell them my part came damaged and wait for a new one? I’m so beat i literally was in my garage from 3pm to 10am the next day. My whole body hurts holy hell. Not even Gemini can tell me what to do. Genuinely thinking about calling a mechanic

For sale.

Letting it go. 2010 r design m66. 137k miles. Continental black series timing belt kit with water pump, cam and crank seals replaced less than 100 miles ago. Car mysteriously sprung an oil leak from head gasket after timing belt job. The car runs and drives great, you just can't get into boost or the pressure will cause the oil to leak from the driver corner of the head gasket. I'm just throwing in the towel.

Timing belt job has about 40 miles on it.

New parts installed with less than 5k miles:

- genuine Volvo pcv assembly with dipstick o-ring and hose.

- thermostat housing assembly.

- upper and lower radiator hoses.

- coolant reservoir.

- spark plugs.

- genuine Volvo motor mounts, transmission mount and ipd torque mount with bracket.

- swaybar end links.

- genuine Volvo tcv valve.

- ipd magnetic drain plug.

- timing covers

- timing belt with tensioners, water pump, cam and crank seals.

- ac belt tensioner

- drive belt

- rear brake pads.

- driver rear brake caliper.

- alg dark ice designs short shifter.

- exhaust tips with polished stock muffler.

- yellow fog lights from ipd.

- checkered floor mats

- led parking light bulbs and license plate bulbs.

- new front grille custom professionally painted gloss black surround with cosmic white Volvo slash and emblem.

Parts that I have not installed but will come with car:

- all new gloss black emblems.

- high quality yellow metal moose badges.

- high quality metal Swedish flag emblem.

- alg front rubber lip

- can of Eastwood 2k spray paint in Java brown. (I was going to redo the front lower cladding)

- set of jaguar f pace 19x8 wheels with red center caps.

I'm just exhausted with the car. I love this car but after all the money I spent restoring it, the head gasket just made me throw in the towel. The car is not perfect, the front bumper cladding needs to be refinished, it has 2 very small hardly noticeable dings in the passenger door. The headliner is sagging, the front seats need to be refinished and when I was putting in the short throw shifter, the shift knob came apart on me so it just has some duct tape wrapped around the handle for now.

I was going to build a big turbo motor for it but just lost the motivation. It's got cold AC and the dynaudio system but there's a Fleetwood Mac CD stuck in the player....I guess it could be worse lol. It's a very beautiful car and it drives wonderfully. I'm really really bummed about seeing it go but I just can't put anymore money into this right now.

Clean and clear title in hand. Car is located in New Orleans Louisiana. I really don't even know how much to ask for this. At the least it needs a head gasket.....3,500 firm??? I really don't know what this thing is worth to someone. My work is crazy so I'll try to answer any questions during 8-5pm but will definitely respond after work to any questions you guys may have

I have receipts for EVERYTHING.

Again, asking 3500. Thanks y'all. This was a great sub and I definitely want another C30 someday.

What's been done to this?

I'm kinda clueless when it comes to exhaust sounds, whether it's been modified at all or not. It's a 2007 Volvo C30 1.6l petrol, and this is what it sounds like. I think something's been done to it, but I don't know. It's my first car and I can't find many videos to compare this to.

I'm looking to modify the exhaust but if it won't make much of a difference to this then I won't.

Help with ordering suspension parts

So, I've been looking at tons of different kits to replace the suspension in my C30. I'm sorta going a little insane though looking for all the parts, not entirely sure what I need. I would like to stay away from coilovers, I don't wanna lower my car or deal with other components wearing down. All I want is to keep it pretty close to stock, I'm not 100% sure what would be the best sorta kit to get that isn't to expensive. I would really appreciate if someone else maybe has done something similar and could give me a list of the things they've ordered. Or even if someone could just help me out with finding the right parts to order. It's probably pretty simple to find all the parts, I just may be dumb. Anyways, if someone could help with that would be super greatful :)

Auto open/close windows with key fob - can yours do it?

Curious if there are 2013 C30’s out there that have the feature to auto-open/close their windows by holding down the lock/unlock buttons on the key fob?

My research seems to show it was not on US market cars due to lawyers. Anyone know if it really was an option in the EU and if I could activate it with Vdash?

Suspension hardware question.

I’m replacing all my suspension and was wondering if I could just use the hardware that was already on the old struts and shocks or if I need to buy new hardware. Also where to buy hardware, I’ve got all the suspension parts in a cart on FCPEuro, and couldn’t seem to find the hardware for them in there. (When I say hardware I mean like the nuts and bolts)

Also, the Koni special actives, on a scale of 1-10 how worth it they are.

Thanks in advance :)

Seeking Advice: Broken Exhaust Pipe

Good Day All,

Yesterday I hit a bump and immediately my 2013 C30 T5 sounded like a race car. Upon further inspection, I saw that my exhaust pipe broke from itself. I believe the rust build up caused this to happen. I’ve included images to this post.

Has this happened to you? I’m reading about flex sealant tape that cures as a quick fix, pipe coupling (with clamps) as a fix, or just replacing the entire exhaust pipe itself.

I’m quite new to being handy and was hoping for any experience or words of advice you all might have for this problem. I love this car and I want to see it go the distance!

TIA

Elevate Intake

alright guys, so i spent all night trying to take the air box out. It was terrible. It took much longer than trying to get the turbo intake pipe into the turbo pipe. There is a connecter for the oil-filter/PCV housing and i broke mine. Luckily you only need it if you live in cold areas. I live in a fairly hot area, so i was all good. Only buy this if you have a power saw because thats the fastest way to get it out. I ended up
just chopping it up. If not enjoy tugging at it for hours. My turbo is only a bit louder as well. It didnt add much noise when i did my pulls. I checked for boost leaks and it make sure everything was secure. Anyone have any experience?

Clicking/Crunchy noise on accel / decel - driving me crazy

'11 C30 T5 R-design with 160K miles on the clock. I've experienced this noise for a LONG time and it's getting worse. Details include:

  • 1-3 Crunch/click noise that happens on acceleration and deceleration (when going from one to the other)
  • Also will make the noise when the automatic trans shifts
  • Replaced passenger side axle 14 months ago with a GKN unit (reman). Driver side was leaking a couple months ago and replaced with GKN.
    • The noise is not worse when the steering wheel is engaged sharply or in reverse which makes me think it's not CV axles
    • However, the noise is worse when it's hot outside. When it's below freezing the noise can disappear (this seems to indicate cv axles?)
  • I replaced the torque mount with a OEM Ford C-Max solid bushing about 18 months ago
  • Installed IPD's anti-ping axle nuts TODAY and made no difference
  • 2 engine mounts were replaced and installed poly inserts
  • The control arm bushings appear to be OK. I've torqued on the wheel when it's up in the air and I'm not seeing any movement.
  • I took it to an indy Volvo shop a couple years ago and they couldn't track it down because it was cold and not really making the noise.

I'm at a loss. Anything you would suggest I check?

Please help with diagnosis

I have a c30 2008 1.6 petrol engine. This whirring sound has appeared after going over a speed bump. Originally it went after engine got to temp but now it is constantly there. It increases with revs. I imagine it is some sort of belt or pulley which has broken. can anyone help diagnose what is wrong.

Looking to buy an AT C30 T5 from 2011 with 165k km (100k miles). Anything I should worry?

It's the best I can get for that money in my country.

I'd rather buy an MT but there are very few T5s here and they're either too old (200k+ km) or riced out.

Is the AT reliable? Do T5s have any known issues?

Thanks in advance.

Selling my car 😭😭😭

Hi guys! I love my C30 but it's time to sell it I'm going to collage and I won't have money to pay for garage in apartment so it's time to say goodbye ://.

I have a 2011 2.0 Rdesign petrol with heating seats , 181k kilometres and like 3 months ego I had fixed timing belt and engine rings(? Not sure how to name it in English ) it's just ready for the next 100k+ kilometres I'm here to ask what should I sell it for it for? I mean it could get a little paint job cause it's not perfect there are like 3 palces where paint stick off , not super obvious for the first glance but still. I'll also change the control arms in like a week probably.

Mechanically talking the car is just ready for a lot ,visually there are little things that need some work but it's not bad at all. How much should I ask for it ? What do you think. I'm in Poland so if anyone want to talk in polish be my guest .
