Looking to form a group of people, that can give sectional/full mocks together

Hey guys, I am preparing for cat 2026, and am looking for good people who have the mindset of solving CAT sectional and mocks as a medium to grow and improve.

the issue is that most of us dont have anyone else to discuss what went wrong in the mock and dont analyze.

what if we can solve this,

we can form a group and give sectional or full length paper together and then can analyze with each other, what went wrong and how to improve, like after school/clg exam discussions on how'd you solve this.

so tell me what do you think and lets work on this, and I pretty much think it will improve our scores to a great level.

Work-ex or MBA after UG?

I (20m) in my final year of UG, is hoping to give CAT this year. My profile is not extremely studded GNEM (7/8/8), i lost a lost of marks in 10th cause there were no boards (covid batch) and wasn’t serious in pre-boards.

I wanna get into the finance industry and I currently have two options in front of me.

  1. I have an opportunity to work in one of the biggest mutual funds in india(due to connections).
  2. Give CAT and go for an MBA.

My CAT prep yet hasn’t been anything extraordinary,
my avg mock score lies in the range of 60-70.

Therefore this question keep bothering me? Should I even prepare for CAT or go for a CFA which might help me in the industry, or something else all together.

27 Male (CA) - Need some prep advice.

So my background:

I am a CA, currently working in Statutory Audit domain with one of the top brand name in industry since past 1.5 years, as of date. I have decided to appear for CAT 2026. I am working full time even on Saturdays and Sundays being working in audit.

Also, my maths is very weak since I didn't opt for maths in 11th and 12th.

So, I need advice:

  1. Whether it is achievable to get cat score for tier1 college if I start now?

  2. How should I start my prep from scratch?

  3. Suggestions for making the maths basics strong.

But, while you give the advice, please be mindful that I could devote max to max 1 hour daily and maybe 2-3 hrs on Sundays depending on work load.

Would love to someone who was in the same shoes as I am, perhaps a CA or a full time working lad whose work was hectic af!

My CAT Story Part -2

Hey Guys, My Last Story/Post Blew Up. Some people thought I was karma farming or Lying? I had to prove a lot of you by sharing my documents. Hope you guys trust me now. I got 100+ DMs and the most asked question was What did I do different than the profiles that got rejected?
Here’s My Take.

• I knew My Academics Were My Draw Back, So I Had To Balance It Out? I had the luck of having sports Curricular, but Interview was going to grill me about it, so? I Made a perfect story. Perfect story explaining My potential but missing Out on direction, they saw the potential (that was the point) in interview if you can Explain your drawbacks well? You are good to go.

• I Studied The CAT pattern, not the question. Understand this, CAT tests your abilities to distinguish what are your strengths and weaknesses. I was a mediocre student so I made a plan.
Quants: Basic and most asked Questions Were From Arithmetic and Algebra. Initially i thought I ll do half algebra but I realised Arithmetic is very diluted with algebra,
So DO algebra First if you are new or weak in maths.
Maths was my weakness i put most of my hours in Maths. Hence 97

• LRDI. You need to understand what is LRDI? Is there a pattern? A syllabus? I did my research and realised. This section is filled with potential smart guesses. You won’t believe in the paper I was blank when LRDI came in, and I couldn’t solve A single Set, Thats where my smart guessing kicked in, I scored 15. ( low but saved me)
Smart guessing isn’t some random clicks, it comes with practice a lot of practice.

• VARC: I think it’s easy to learn hard to master, so no matter what i did the whole day. I read 50 pages of a novel of my choice and Did 6 sets of VARC in two shifts.
Helped me a lot,

Last but not the least, Learn to Control Your nerves. Scoring well in Mocks and practice is very different on exam days.
There will be moments on exam day where you will feel you don’t know shit. Trust your preparation, And Take control.

Good Luck Champs

Just for Context I Am A GNEM, Converted IIM, with 5/5/6 Profile and 0 Work Ex.

Help CAT MBA IIM A ???

Senior,

I'm female....I scored 83% in class 10th and 67% in 12th. My college hasn’t started yet. It’s a tier-3 college and I have taken Computer Science Core. I want to take CAT for MBA.

What is the best time to give CAT — is it during 4th year of college or after 2 years of work experience? Also, with my marks and college tier, what should I focus on to build a strong profile? Will I get iim A with my school score ???

Any advice would help. Thanks.

My Story, I Made It To An IIM.

So I Will Start From The Beginning. I Am A 5/5/6 General Male. Gave Cat In 2025 and Scored Great Percentile(won’t share it for some reason) But it was quite high. I got offers from IIM cap, sirmaur and Jammu Basically. I had my interview In IIM JAMMU on 3rd March. In Beginning of June I got a mail of Waitlisted in IIM JAMMU, and Got Ineligible In Sirmaur cause of less than 60% in boards. I Lost hope I really wanted an IIM. But I understood not everything has to go how I want to go. In End of June I Got A Mail From IIM BODHGYA. I got provisional Offer I took it. Paid the fees and Had to report there today on 1st. On 30th I got My dream college mail, IIM JAMMU. And I have made it in. I left bodhgya and paid for Jammu I will report there on 10th.

I Never Believed in God, but Now? I Do.
Whoever is reading this? Guys you will make it too. Trust your instincts and Surrender. You did what you could do. Rest is On him.
Be well and I hope everyone gets what they want.

Also I am Getting So Many Holy shits in comment, let me tell you something else too, when the shortlist came I was not offered Bodhgya. On 28th they called me on my phone not email a call, and told me, “You were ineligible but we had an internal meeting and we have decided to Send you an offer” I cried over the call and You know the rest

Struggling with VA and LRDI - Looking for Advice (CAT 2026)

Hello everyone,

I'm preparing for CAT 2026. My Quant is in a good position.
I mainly need more practice and a better understanding of the patterns typically tested in CAT.

My Reading Comprehension is also fairly strong. I regularly read 2–3 articles or essays from sources like Aeon, Project Syndicate, LiveMint, and Literary Hub.

However, I'm struggling with two areas:

  • Verbal Ability (VA)
  • LRDI

For Verbal Ability, I'd really appreciate recommendations for:

  • Good learning resources (books, courses, or YouTube channels)
  • High-quality practice questions
  • The right approach and thought process for solving VA questions

For LRDI, my biggest issue is that I often understand the set and make some progress, but I get stuck midway and become confused about how to proceed. I'd love to know:

  • How to develop the right approach to solving sets
  • Resources that helped you improve
  • Any drills or exercises that build LRDI thinking from the ground up

If you've overcome similar challenges, I'd be grateful if you could share what worked for you.

Thank you in advance for your guidance and wisdom!
