Captured this on my backyard camera. I'd been watching these cells from earlier in Dayton, and expected them to drift south in line with Grove City. Ended up going just to the north Over 270 into Obetz towards Rickenbacker.
I don't believe anything touched down with this cell, but confirmed the tornado warnings on our phones work...
I can distinguish a clear wall cloud rolling in, but I also think I see the rotation and funnel cloud around 10:47.
What do ya think?
Don't even see the warning on the NWS site. Sounding in Groveport.
Rotation doesn't look too tight, but radar signature has a bit of a hook on it. Headed east to Cbus metro... with a very long ways to go, but something to keep an eye on if it remains discrete
Big booms down here in Grove City around 1pm. The amount of huge, booming, and cracking thunder this week has been insane. I can’t recall ever hearing such loud thunder! And it has been every day since last Monday it seems! Just absolutely crazy.
Maybe sometime I’ll be able to actually mow the grass . I do love central Ohio
Did something just hit the ground?
The sky looks clear of tornadic conditions overhead, but ... IDK, be careful?
My non-expert understanding is that we’ve been trapped between those two high pressure systems that have been funneling the rain/storms to us all week and will continue to do so at least this weekend and maybe beyond. Is that basically correct and if so, when might the highs finally move and hopefully let us dry out for awhile?
Picture as of 10:58. Rotation doesn’t look too tight, but an interesting “beam” of CC drop extending from center of rotation away from KILN radar. Not necessarily a debris ball, but something interesting I guess
The initial track, still think it might’ve continued further east based on damage around our shop.
