Really Terrible Experience - not sure if I'm going to be using CDBaby anymore

My band has an album we've been working on for 3 years. It's very important to us. To CDBaby, it's not important at all. My feeling is that they treated our art the same way airlines treat luggage.

No Spotify artist access all the way up until release day, despite uploading 2 months in advance:

We uploaded two singles as the debut release for our band, with a full two months of leeway so everything can get ingested.

In the meantime, we couldn't get ahold of our "Spotify for artists" info, so there was no way to upload a canvas or anything in advance, or really do any management of the artist page at all. When I requested access, their automated email said that have to wait until the track releases, sans artwork (icky, why would anyone be okay with their song lacking a canvas, and being unable to manage the track ON THE F-ing RELEASE DAY). This is in contrast to the actual policy that Spotify has, where the distributor should be able to give you your artist URI in advance. It seems CDBaby is just too lazy to offer this, and doesn't understand why this is basically unworkable for bands in 2026 who rely upon the Spotify Canvas feature.

CDBaby Created multiple Spotify artist pages with the same exact band name:

Today was the release date and... For some reason CDBaby created two separate Spotify artist pages with the same name (as well as two Apple Music artist pages). Same thing on Apple Music. Everyone we want to show the music has to click two separate links. Everyone's wondering why there are two separate pages, why we didn't upload a canvas, and if we're both actually the same band, and are we actually dinosaurs who can't use technology. It's honestly the worst case scenario for trying to release something on a particular date. And we followed the instructions to a T!

Now any attempts to fix this with a re-upload are messy, because CDBaby won't connect to the Spotify account that it created, and it wants to make yet a THIRD ARTIST PAGE WITH THE SAME NAME.

I can't get ahold of anyone, all the customer service and engineering people have their LinkedIns on private, which is a huge red flag imo, as it means that the lack of customer service response is leaving people with no option but to reach out to employees on LinkedIn, and it happens so frequently that they've had to turn their profiles to private. CDBaby is actively trying to avoid supporting their own product, which is extremely lame and uncool for something they charge money for.

Moral of the Story: Don't use CDBaby. You'll wait two whole months just for everything to upload incorrectly, and then they'll refuse to help you.

Has Anyone Used SUNO Beats with CD Baby? Any Issues with Spotify?

Hi everyone, I have a question: has anyone used SUNO beats on a paid plan? How recommended would it be to use them, but obviously record the song with my own voice?

I’m not sure if CD Baby can clarify this question, or if anyone here has gone through this process when registering a song.

For now, I’m only doing this to monetize my channel, and using SUNO saves me a lot of money on beats. But I don’t know if anyone has had any issues with CD Baby, or about something I heard regarding Spotify—that they’re going to label artist profiles that use AI and won’t recommend those artist profiles.

Has anyone had experience with this?
