Need suggestion please help

I recently got an opportunity to join as an Academic Counselor in Bangalore in a company, and I’m confused about whether I should take it or not. My long-term goal is to join the armed forces, and I want to seriously prepare for CDS and AFCAT.

The reason I’m considering the job is that it will give me some income, and I feel earning something might keep me motivated and reduce the pressure of sitting at home only preparing. At the same time, I’m worried that the job may consume my time and energy and affect my preparation.

Has anyone here been in a similar situation? I’d appreciate practical advice, especially from people who prepared for CDS/AFCAT while working.

I built a free vocabulary app for competitive exam aspirants!

I know how it feels to open a mock test and lose marks not because you didn't study but because you didn't know what the word even meant.

English vocabulary sections in SSC, IBPS, UPSC, CLAT, AFCAT they're often the difference between clearing the cutoff and missing it by 2 marks. And most of us come from Hindi medium or vernacular backgrounds where nobody taught us "obstinate" or "perfidious" in school.

I built Vocabo to fix that for myself first, and now for anyone who needs it.

What's inside:

  • 5000+ words across Core, Idioms, One-word, Phrasal Verbs, Root Words, Confusing Pairs, Homophones, and more
  • Previous Year Questions from SSC CGL, IBPS PO, UPSC CDS/NDA, CLAT, AFCAT, SBI and more
  • Learn cards with Hindi + English explanations
  • Active/Passive Voice and Direct/Indirect Speech with rules
  • Daily Word of the Day
  • Completely free right now - no paywalls during launch

I'm not a company. I'm one person who built this between study sessions. No VC funding, no marketing budget just this post and hope that it reaches someone who needs it.

Here's what I actually need from you:

Download it. Use it for a week. Then come back and tell me honestly:

  • What's missing?
  • What's confusing?
  • What would make you open it every day?

And if you find it genuinely useful, a rating on the Play Store takes 10 seconds and means everything to an indie developer. Not asking for 5 stars- just whatever you honestly think it deserves. A 3-star review with real feedback helps me more than a silent 5.

If you're preparing for any competitive exam, give it a shot. And if you find a bug or want something added, reply here I actually read and respond.

Download it from Google Play Store

navy tech 10+2 merit ?

Recommended for navy tech 10+2 , lists are out already and my AMB FIT documents reached DMPR on the day of second list release. what are the realistic chances of me getting merit in as a MALE candidate , My SSB was great and I was the only fresher to get recommended from the whole batch. The conference was very short (40 sec). The command task was great and made the GTO visibly shocked enough that he asked me where I learned to solve this. interview was also very smooth.

psych went awesome as well.

thanks in advance.

First joining date is 13 july and only almost half of the announced vacancy people have gotten JL

Looking for a dedicated Study Buddy for AFCAT/CDS. (My last attempt!). I am a Recommended Candidate & will help with your SSB prep in return.

Hi everyone,

I’m currently gearing up for the upcoming AFCAT and CDS exams. These are my absolute last attempts, so I am going all-in and looking for a serious, disciplined study buddy to keep the momentum high and hold each other accountable.

The Deal:

  • What I need: Someone dedicated to clearing the written exams who wants to coordinate study sessions, share resources, and discuss mock tests.
  • What I offer: I am a recommended candidate. While we grind through the written syllabus together, I am more than happy to guide you through the SSB/AFSB process. I can help you refine your lecturettes, tackle GTO tasks, and give you solid insights into the psychological tests and personal interview.

Important , asking for a friend.

My friend recently cleared his written for CDS ota ( male ). He’s insisting me on putting up a post regarding his doubt.

His doubt is that , can one get PC after serving as an SS officer who had consistently volunteered to serve in an active field area ? And what’s the conversion rate ?

Guys, is there any discrimination or given more preference if one is nda graduate to officers who go from academies like OTA, IMA...because I have recently noticed a lot that almost all LT Gen or higher ranking officers, most of them are from nda .............

For promotions, one really needs a connection or an officer background, like a father or another family member.........I know there is partiality and bias to some extent, but is it really that extreme, or is it just like it's everywhere else .......I have studied in APS my whole life, and I am aware that biased towards officer kids, but to some extent, but not much. They are given special treatments at times .................................so I request cadets and all aspirants pls share your thoughts and opinions if it's there or not? What about promotions? Are they also based on the Academy and connections? Or on capabilities and service record ?......

If anyone is reading this ....I just have one request .... Please read till the end ....

Today was my last SSB ....

I got screened out ....

I don't even know why I'm writing this. Maybe because I just need to let it out ....

I'm a 2 time recommended candidate .... but I never made it into the merit list .... Every time I came back, I worked harder. I gave everything I had .... I genuinely believed that one day I'd finally make it to the Academy ....

But I couldn't ....

When the assessor said .... That's it for today .... gentlemen .... May God be with you .... my heart just sank .... At that moment .... I knew this journey was over ....

People always say dreams take hard work .... They do .... But nobody tells you what it feels like when you give everything you have .... for years .... and still don't get what you've dreamt of .... It just breaks you into pieces .... I can't even explain what I'm feeling right now ....

I'm sitting here with teary eyes .... My hands and legs just won't stop shaking .... I keep thinking .... what else could I have done?

The Army wasn't just a career for me .... It wasn't just another job .... It became my identity .... Every morning I woke up thinking about it .... Every setback .... every recommendation .... every rejection .... I kept coming back because I believed this dream was worth fighting for ....

Now .... I don't know.

There's only one thing playing in my mind right now .... and it perfectly describes how I feel ....

Jab pyaar hua iss pinjre se ....

It feels like being told to forget the one thing you never wanted to let go of ....

I don't know what comes next .... Right now .... I just feel empty ....

If you're still preparing for the SSB .... don't let this post discourage you .... Fight till your last attempt .... Give it everything you've got .... I truly hope you get to live the dream that I couldn't ....

Maybe some dreams are just meant to stay dreams ....

Jai Hind ....

Reporting at MCO Det at Railway Station for SSB?

Hi. I was wondering if one reports to MCO Det rather than at the SSB Gate, do they drop you at the gate or inside the premises? I have my SSB day after tomorrow at Bhopal so was wondering if it is a better option in this rainy weather
