Phone turned off due to heat | Nothing CMF 2 pro

Today all of a sudden at 51% charge

I was watching IPL on hotstar and suddenly my phone turned off

I thought it might be a charging issue immediately I connected the power bank and it displayed a 51% charge

Then I turned on and it immediately showed this in notification

However I've not rebooted my phone for more than a week now and I've been doing some heavy gaming too

But at those times when the phone was actually heated up then it never shut down

But today all of a sudden it shut down while the phone temperature was totally cool

Killing Cmf phone pro 2

I have heard most company push updates on phones to kill it prior to new model launch and recently I have heard about cmf phone 2 pro being heated in sun and lossing battery quickly with more blotware.

Should I consider cmf pro 2 to buy as cmf pro 3 might be out of my budget

CMF Phone 2 Pro users, how has NOS 4.1 been for you?

Hi all,

How has your experience with Nothing OS 4.1 been so far?

For me, performance and animations feel snappier now, but I do miss the battery life from earlier builds. Curious if others are seeing the same or have noticed any other issues/improvements.

I’m also planning to test a custom ROM on the CMF Phone 2 Pro to see whether it actually makes things better or worse, so if there’s anything specific you’d want me to check, let me know.

Just wanted to hear real user experiences.

Should I Buy Nothing CMF Phone 2 Pro?

i am thinking of buying it, but i have two concerns in tech reviews. The camera is bad, but maybe it has been improved with the updates, but the battery – I have heard that after os update 4.1 the battery backup is only 4-5 hr. is it true or will this be fixed in the new patch or something

CMF Phone 2 Pro overheating

For context my cmf phone 2 pro is like a year old I got it last June . It's heating up a lot in outdoors..not like getting warm like straight up burning hot idk why I remove the case and let it cool down but it starts cooling down only when I come indoors. I don't game or use phone outdoors. It's just getting hot just by being outside. Is anyone else also experiencing the same issue? What can I do for it?

CMF Buds 2 Plus Review: Surprisingly Good, But Change the Ear Tips

I recently got the Buds 2 Plus, and if you're planning to buy them, read this before you make a decision.

What’s Great

  • Sound: Clear vocals, punchy bass, airy presentation
  • Mic: Surprisingly good for the price
  • ANC & Transparency: Both work really well
  • Design & Build: Premium look and feel

For the price, these are genuinely impressive.

Biggest Con – The Ear Tips

The stock ear tips are honestly disappointing. They:

  • Don’t fit securely
  • Feel too smooth and slippery
  • Reduce ANC effectiveness
  • Affect sound quality negatively

I replaced them with the ear tips from my previous Nord Buds 3, and the difference was immediate:

  • Better comfort and seal
  • Improved grip inside the ear
  • Fuller, cleaner sound
  • Punchier bass
  • Better ANC performance

If you buy these, I strongly recommend investing in better ear tips.

Smaller Con – Case Finish

The case feels premium and looks amazing, but the finish is extremely smooth and picks up stains very easily. The white version especially may become hard to keep clean.

Detailed Breakdown

Sound – A-

The sound signature is balanced and airy. Vocals are clean, bass is punchy, and there’s decent detail overall.

Because of the LCP drivers, the tuning feels smoother and more balanced compared to titanium-driver earbuds that usually have sharper treble and heavier bass. Some tracks may leave you wanting slightly deeper bass, and the Ultra Bass mode doesn’t add much.

Still, the bass is:

  • Punchy
  • Warm and mellow
  • Pleasant for long listening

Soundstage is inconsistent:

  • Some tracks sound wide and immersive
  • Others feel more intimate and “inside your head”

Overall, really good for the price.

ANC – A-

Actually quite effective.

  • Blocks fan noise well
  • Reduces background chatter
  • Handles low frequencies nicely

Works best in low to medium-noise environments. It won’t completely suppress nearby voices or sharp high-pitched sounds.

Transparency – A

Very natural implementation. You can comfortably hear surroundings even while music is playing.

Mic – A

Mics are impressive indoors with very clear voice quality.

Outdoors, traffic noise affects them a bit, but they still manage to prioritize and amplify your voice reasonably well.

Battery Life – A

Battery life is solid, though not quite as advertised.

  • Around 3 full case recharges
  • Buds last roughly 8–10 hours in mixed usage
  • Realistically 4 days of use without charging

Definitely lower than the claimed 14 hours without ANC, but still very good.

Personal Sound – B-

Makes the audio slightly fuller, but the difference isn’t huge.

Controls – B

No single-tap pause control, which feels like a miss. Thankfully:

  • In-ear detection works well
  • Touch controls are responsive

Equalizer – B-

The EQ is too basic. You only get broad:

  • Bass
  • Mid
  • Treble sliders

Not granular enough for fine tuning.

The built-in presets are decent though:

  • One preset gives punchier bass
  • Another focuses heavily on vocals and clarity

Final Verdict

These are genuinely excellent earbuds for the price, especially in terms of:

  • Design
  • Mic quality
  • ANC
  • Overall sound balance

But the stock ear tips hold them back significantly. Swap them for better-quality tips, and the experience improves dramatically.

Should I wait for the CMF Phone 3 Pro or just buy the Nothing Phone 3a Pro now?

Mainly want good camera, battery, smooth performance, and a little gaming. Not sure if waiting for the CMF is worth it or if I should just get the 3a Pro now.

What would you do?

Should I wait for the CMF Phone 3 Pro or buy the CMF Phone 2 Pro now?

I don't really game that much, so the processor isnt that important, the things that interest me are the better cameras, better build, and better battery, if i buy the new one. But it'll be aprox. 10K more than how much CMF Phone 2 Pro costs right now, it the upgrades worth 10k. or is the older one good enough. I just need a good all rounder phone, i should not be reminded that i'm using a budget phone in my day to day life.

Didn’t expect this kind of battery life from CMF Phone 2 Pro

Battery life on the CMF Phone 2 Pro is honestly way better than I expected 😅

Today I got around 11 hours screen on time with normal daily usage — mostly YouTube, Instagram, Reddit, Chrome browsing and a bit of camera use. I was on WiFi most of the time, no 5G and Bluetooth was OFF.

Pretty impressed with the optimization so far. Didn’t think it would last this long on a single charge.

Anyone else getting similar battery backup on this phone?

Any way to turn off in-ear-detection for ANC in CMF Buds 2 Plus?

The buds themselves are quite decent, but this in-ear-detection (IED) is ruining everything of the product.

I have already turned off IED for audio playback, but I can't seem to find any way to turn it off for ANC. Whenever the buds get a little loose, it's turning off ANC automatically.

Anyone faced this issue and did you find any solution for it? If not, what's the workaround you're following?

Note: I am using the medium sized eartips which fitted the best for me.

[ Edit: Fixed it guys. Turns out it was my eartips choice that was wrong. I was using the medium sized eartip for both of my ears, as a result, the right side earbuds were getting loose again and again, and IED was detecting it as removing the earbuds. It looks like my right ear canal is bigger than my left one, that's why medium sized eartip was getting loosen up. So, now I am using a medium sized eartip on my left ear and a large size on my right. Working completely fine now. :)

So it looks like you just need to ensure your eartips fit you well. ]
