Efficiency - results and informal request for data

I recently drove my new 2026 Lyriq from point to point down I-95, starting at midnight and traveling 452 miles.

I used SuperCruise set at either 72 or 73, which is very slow for I-95.

Vehicle used 217 kwh, which puts me at - 2.1 mi/kwh.

That seems kind of (really) low.

Any experience you all can share?

Is Supercruise actually improving?

Title basically. The updates are flowing but it seems the same to me.

I previously had a Mustang Mach E with bluecruise and they did some noticeable improvements I don’t yet see in Supercruise.

for example, inching over when you’re next to a big rig. Likewise, bluecruise will often bias slightly away from concrete barriers or guardrails. It’s a small movement, but it made that system feel much more refined. That was in 2023.

Three years later, missing from Supercruise…which is somehow higher rated than most other ADAS on the market.

HELP!! Lease early termination

I leased a 2024 Lyriq for 24 months. However, I used up the mileage by 21 months. I called the dealership asking if I could just return the vehicle earlier but still pay whatever I still owe on the lease. And they said yes, I can return at any time. They said GM would just send me a bill for whatever I owe for the lease balance + the disposition fees + any damages.

So I scheduled an inspection and got everything done. I went to the dealership and returned the car and was waiting for GM to send me a bill of lump sum amount I owe.

Fast forward to today, I receive a notice in the mail that I have chosen to do an early termination of the lease and that there is a gross early termination total on the car, let's call it $XXX which is nothing but the residual that was on the lease agreement + the remaining months of lease payments + disposition fees. And that I would end up owing whatever is the difference between $XXX and whatever they could sell the vehicle for.

There is simply no way the car will sell for anywhere close to $XXX. The residuals were very inflated at the time I leased it. Am I screwed? If this is the case I will end up owing 10s of thousands. I never intended to early terminate the lease. I could've just kept the car and let it sit for 3 months if I had known this. I just went by what the dealership told me.

Replacement switch?

Hi all — I’m trying to find a replacement part for my 2024 Cadillac Lyriq climate control panel.
One of the small silver physical button/paddle pieces under the climate icons is missing. It’s the one directly below the recirculation icon — the little car with the circular arrow — between the HEAT area and the MAX front defrost area.

The actual touch icon still works/appears to be there, but the silver lower button/cap/paddle is gone. I’m trying to figure out whether I can buy just that individual trim/button piece, or whether Cadillac only sells the entire HVAC control assembly.
From searching, I’ve found possible assembly part numbers like:

87836446
85063500

But I’m not sure if those are definitely correct, or if there’s a smaller service part for just the missing silver button.

Has anyone replaced this part, found the individual button/cap, or know the correct GM/Cadillac part number? I’d rather not buy the whole climate control assembly if I only need the small silver paddle.
Photos attached showing the missing spot. Thanks!

Purchase CPO out of state?

Has this worked for you? Any disaster stories? What would you consider as required extra checking before finalizing a purchase of a 2024 AWD? Thanks!

Cry with me

One month before we turn in our leased 2024 Lyriq - incredible car so far.

At fault driver tried doing a U-turn out of a street side parking spot and plowed right into my wife as she was passing by.

Loved the car. Sad the last few weeks we have will be spent in a shop.

Lease return inspection listed bumper scratch as "Normal Wear" but still charged

Got my pre-return inspection back on my 2024 Lyriq lease (ending this month). The inspection report classified it as "Normal Wear" and still added a $66 charge for it. Since that amount seems reasonable to me, I'm inclined to just leave it as-is rather than get it fixed. My main concern is avoiding any surprise charges later. Is this something I can get confirmed as final when I actually drop the car off at the dealership?

Lyriq a Lesson in Deceptive Marketing & False Advertising

Cadillac heavily marketed several features for the Lyriq that will never be delivered on 2023–2025 models, despite the necessary hardware being installed in many vehicles. These capabilities were promoted during the launch period and relied on by buyers when comparing the Lyriq to competing electric vehicles that already offered similar functionality.

The most significant example is Surround Vision Recorder. Early marketing materials and owner’s manuals described a system that would record video from the vehicle’s multiple exterior cameras, with the ability to save footage to an SD card or USB drive located in the trunk. A security recording feature was also referenced that would automatically activate upon alarm trigger while the vehicle was parked. GM has since confirmed this feature will not be offered on any 2023, 2024, or 2025 Lyriq models. It was only enabled via over-the-air update on 2026 models.

A similar issue involved key card and digital key access. Hardware for NFC key card reading is present on many early vehicles, and the capability was discussed as part of the vehicle’s access system. Full or timely activation was limited or delayed on 2024 models despite the advertising.

The later rollout on 2026 models demonstrates that these capabilities are technically feasible. The decision not to deliver them on earlier model years was likely driven by development and ongoing support costs rather than providing the functionality that influenced purchase decisions against competing vehicles.

This pattern of falsely advertising advanced features, installing supporting hardware, and then failing to enable them on the vehicles sold raises serious concerns about whether buyers received what was promised.

Anyone who purchased a 2023–2025 Lyriq based on these advertised capabilities should contact GM directly to file a formal complaint and also consider consulting with a consumer protections attorney.

Walk away or buy

My 24 Tech lease is coming to an end. I want a Lux/Sport 2/3. I test drove a 24 Lux 2 today with 8k mi. It was in an accident at 3000mi, I think it was a dealer loaner/demo based on mileage at first sale. It was repaired by a Cadillac dealer then driven another 4k mi. It did toss a pre collision warning earlier than we are used to during the test drive though it did not throw on the brakes.

Price was good for the low miles. Should I walk? I'm most worried about sensor gremlins since the accident was in the front and air bags were deployed.

How do I start a 2026 Lyriq?

I own a 2024 Lyriq and I took it in this morning to get it serviced. The dealership gave me a 2026 Lyriq as a loaner car. They pulled the 2026 around did the walk around inspection I hopped in and drove off. For the most part there were no differences other than a camera eye above the On* button (not sure what this is for… it looks OEM but my 2024 doesn’t have it) and NO START/STOP BUTTON. I’ve looked everywhere. Coming from a Tesla a start/stop button was hard for me to wrap my head around but now I’ve gotten so used to it. So anyways, how do you turn the car off and on?

Dealership Kept Car for Over Two Months Now Claim Warranty Will Not Cover

In mid April my 2024 Lyriq had the high voltage system failure error. We towed the car to the dealer of original purchase and they gave us a rental. They were very hands off and did not communicate with us at all. They regularly ducked calls and updates.

After much trouble they have finally gotten back to us and now claim the battery is fine but it was rodents who chewed through the wires. So it won’t be covered By warranty. Meanwhile we have been driving a crappy rental car and paying for gas while also paying for the lease on the vehicle for over two months. The lease is up in november and they still have not given us an estimate and are saying to go through our insurance.

What are my options in this situation. I am inclined to suspect the rodents did this in their industrial parking lot by the st clair avenue and old mill train tracks in west toronto.

Driver side window crack

Morning I drove to my office and didn’t notice anything, but in the afternoon I saw a crack in the window. The car was parked outside in an open area, and I don’t remember any road debris hitting it on the way in. Could this be a manufacturing defect? The car is a Lyriq 2024 Sport 3 model and still under 50,000 miles / 4-year warranty. What kind of repair cost should I expect? I have a high-deductible insurance policy, so I may need to handle this outside of insurance. Any advice would be appreciated.

Tech AWD vs. Luxury 1 RWD

Need some opinions. I’m helping my parents look around for a Cadillac Lyriq. It would be their first EV, and it’s the only EV they’re really interested in. Their budget is somewhat tight, ideally under $43k CAD with under 60,000 km.

We live in Canada, so AWD seems like it would be the better choice, but they also have a newer truck they can use in the winter if needed. The Tech trim seems to be missing quite a few features, so we’re not sure what would be the better compromise for the price: missing AWD or missing the extra features from the Luxury trim.

Any input would be appreciated!

How to add front camera view quickly?

Loving the Lyric - leased a 26 Signature Sport. I love the front camera view, but can't seem to figure out how to use it quickly on demand. I end up putting the car in Park, then Reverse, then Drive. Maybe there is a faster way? I think I can probably go through a bunch of menus, but curious if anyone has figured out how to use this on demand. Or maybe there is a way to add or customize the view on the general screen? Wife's '26 Passport has a button on the end of blinker that activates camera at low speeds.

Anyone else?

Cadillac Lyriq vs Ioniq 5 Limited

We have narrowed our next car purchase down to the Cadillac Lyriq vs the Hyundai Ioniq 5 Limited. We plan on buying a used car coming off lease 2-3 years old and under 20k miles. The Lyriq seems to be coming in at $3,000 - $6,000 more in price. The cars seem very similar in regards to options at these trim levels. They even feel similar in regards to passenger room, but the Lyriq trunk seems larger.

Being new to EVs, are we missing anything that differs in these cars under the trunk and with charging? Is the Lyriq worth that much more than an Ioniq Limited? Thanks for any help and perspective.

2025 Lyriq owners — has the native Apple Music app hit your car via OTA yet?

Seeing Cadillac ads everywhere for the built-in Apple Music app (no phone needed, runs natively on the screen with Spatial Audio). GM says it’s rolling out to 2025-and-newer Cadillacs over the air, but the Lyriq wasn’t in their initial named list, so I’m trying to figure out if it’s actually landed on our model yet.

If you own a 2025 Lyriq, can you tell me:

**1.**	Do you see the native Apple Music app in your on-screen app catalog / Play Store? (Not CarPlay — the built-in one.)
**2.**	If yes, what’s your current software/infotainment version, and roughly when did it show up?
**3.**	What trim are you on?

Trying to nail down whether it’s a “wait for OTA” situation or a specific-trim thing.

Thanks.
