It's the small things sometimes that take the breath away
This beggars hand mini vase from Akro Agate is a stunner. To be honest the pictures don't do it any justice. Reminds me of the storms on Jupiter.

My 6lb gummy bear! Sadly, a bookend is not much good by itself but I'll find one eventually. This thing is solid AF.
I finally have a good example of cadmium to show people without the selenium. Cadmium glows yellow, not orange. Any time you have an orange glow, there's selenium present as well. It's understandable, since selenium is used to color Ruby Red, Amberina, and amber colored cadmium glass (all the same formula with a different color strike heating process).
To think I almost didn't check it 😅.
Hey y’all serial uranium glass collector here with a special love for cadmium! For my birthday today I decided to go out to some far out estate sales. And well, I did good! I was rummaging through some glass at one estate sale and found what I believed to be the bottom of a fairy lamp. After having done a pass through the house I looked around to see if I could find the top. Much to my surprise, I found the top buried under some clothes that were resting on a couch! I lucked out and ended up only paying a $1 for the fairy lamp since it was the half price day at the sale! After I gotten home, I had shone my UV light on it and realized it had cadmium in it!! Talk about a fun birthday surprise! 🥹
Fenton Amberina Daisy and Button 4-Inch Basket. From what I can tell its from the '60s.
I found a chip of glass in the protective paper wrap from Goodwill.
Still a cool piece. 😎
I'm haven't come across these before❤️🧡
10” yellow crackle carafe, haven’t ID’d maker yet.
6” Japanese decanter (sadly no stopper.)
Grand total of $5 🤯
This is a piece from the Federal "Patrician" set/design. Under 365nm it glows a nice bright orange. Is this a cadmium/selenium mix causing the orange?
I was hoping for uranium, but I'm not really disappointed. That cadmium/selenium glow is 🔥🔥🔥
Hey everyone, I hope you all had a wonderful Mother’s Day. A decided to go wonder a little market today and found these two cute little vases for five dollars each. I’m not sure what they are, but I just thought they were nice and wanted to share. If anyone knows something about them it would be greatly appreciated if you could share. Thank you all.
Two of them are straight up cadmium. The Eye Winker from LG Wright looks to have some Boron Nitiride on the inside.
I believe this is an old oil lamp. The top appears burnt, the cork is dry and the glue holding top/bottom together. No makers mark I could see however.
