Beautiful compote I found today. Not sure if this is Fenton or Kanawha glass. Any information I truly appreciate! I love the cadmium glow on this piece.
HI so i got a red ceramic or white clay bird like the one pictured. I think it had cadmium in it bc it was all bright red.I rember a name carved at the bottom but no year.I had this red cadmium bird in my closet on a shelf for decoration.I threw a piece of clothing.I in my closet and it snapped the red cadmium head off.I remember I left it on the shelf till I had time to clean it.I used to broom to sweep it out (I now know i I prob shouldn't have done that. I used shock it clean and antibacterial whipes to clean the shelf at the time i didn't clean the roof or back of the shelf. I didn't clean the shelves at the bottom or top of this shelf. I have been wearing the same clothing around, especially to my partners home and in his bed.I am super worried I just spread the particles around from not cleaning my clothing on the shelfs above and underneath. Did I put me and my partner in danger? I went back and only cleaned all my clothing and shelfs recently. Should I be worried about this? I don't want to get us sick. Did I spread it from my clothing to his bed and couch?
Fell in love with the natural light colors, happy with the bonus glow! My camera sucks at getting glow pics, but it's a very pretty yellow orange. I have no idea who made her. The bottom half is manganese.
Any thoughts on if this is cadmium?
If you love cadmium, selenium, uranium, etc, don't sleep on the costume jewelry at the estate sales. They have some awesome stuff. Usually gets left behind if it isn't attached to real metals
No tag so they charged $0.99 🤯
found this little guy in the local thrift and it caught my eye instantly, judging by the color i knew it would glow. lo and behold, it does. bright yellow/orange at the widest part but the top glows in this bright, almost neon pink shade. is it just cadmium or could there be a tad of selenium in there too? anyways, this will make for a great holder for my cadmium marbles
second pic under 365nm uv and third under 395nm uv
Maybe some selenium too? Couldn't believe it when I saw it!
This is some new cadmium I found today at the antique store. There sa couple ones you may have seen before. But there shot in UVA and uvc light. I used protein for the uvc light. Anyways enjoy.
I’m not super well versed in glass collecting. It looks flashed but it’s not chipping anywhere even where it’s scratched? Any info would be awesome. My light is 395
I had a small red mcm crane figurine (prob hand painted from 1953-1970. I used it for decoration, and basically, long story short it snapped in my closet. I used the broom to sweep it it out. I now know I prob should not have done that.I have whiped down my floors (i have been useing the broom) and closet with antibacterial whipes but online it says that just spreads the cadmium particles.I am scared I have a bird that i love and cats. How do I clean this stuff that I can't see? Or do antibacterial whipes work fine? I think my mom has a HEPA vacuum. THIS IS DRIVING ME NUTS.
It's official, Mondays during the workday are a great time to find glass! I got this amberina Toby colonial man jug today for $6! Everything online says Kanawha Glass, but the label clearly says Williamsburg Glass Co, so if anyone knows any details, please let me know!
I also got 12 pieces of uranium glass for $33, but I'll be posting those in the appropriate sub.
*Edit: It's probably manganese glass I got, not uranium! Off to research further.
Found this piece at a local flea market. Does anyone have any information on it. Thank you.
