What I drink now instead of my late night coffee

Since last year I have succeeded to almost ditch caffeine completely except for small occasions when I’m going on a road trip somewhere and all my family wants starbucks. The reason is I had no control on how much caffeine I was putting into my system and that’s when my body started reacting. It spoke up by giving me insomnia, tight chest pain, feeling restless and not being able to feel awake no matter how much coffee or energy drinks I drank.

I got concerned so I went to the doctors and my tests came back good but while I was explaining that clearly there is something wrong to my doctor, she pointed out maybe look at what you’re feeding your body. That’s when I opened my eyes towards the issue I had caused myself.

The beginning was hard since I had to fight the urge especially because caffeine had become such a normal part of my everyday life but slowly I started cutting back more and more until my body stopped craving it the same way. Now I mostly drink oolong tea and not more than three cups a day. I don’t really have those problems anymore and I wake up in the mornings feeling very light and energized. I rarely experience insomnia anymore and if it happens it’s only for one night.
