Hart Park is becoming unsafe — and the County needs to address it. Community petition inside.

For years, Hart Park has been a place for families, kids, visitors, and local businesses. But the park’s infrastructure has been deteriorating for a long time — and now it’s reached a point where it’s affecting public safety and even forcing a long‑standing community business to shut down operations because of unsafe conditions.

Here’s the issue:

• Structural damage and foundation problems have been reported in county‑maintained areas
• Safety hazards have gone unaddressed
• A business that has served the community for years has been impacted
• If the County says the area is unsafe for a business to operate… how is it safe for the public?

A group of us put together a community petition asking Kern County to:

1. Conduct a full safety + structural inspection
2. Release a public report
3. Create a remediation plan with timelines
4. Treat the affected business fairly
5. Ensure Hart Park meets basic public safety standards

This isn’t political — it’s about public safety, transparency, and accountability for a park that thousands of people use.
