Dusk Til Dawn Lodging Conundrum

Hi y'all,

I've been doing camp EDC for 3 years now, 2 years tenting and this year was the first time in an RV. The RV was super worth it this time around but considering I rent it, I'm not sure how logical it is if im planning on doing the double weekend next year. My understanding is that camp will only be available during each festival weekend and if need to go elsewhere during the week.

Alternatively I could do a combo of hotel/tent during the 12 days but I'm not sure I can go back to tenting since I'm flying in from across the country.

I don't have social media so I'm not getting updates from Instagram and the EDC website is not updated with new FAQ like they said it would. I want to make a well informed decision by ticket launch tomorrow.

Please share any thoughts or insights you have!

hotel vs camp edc rv

Need advice from people who have done both hotels and Camp EDC RV camping.

My boyfriend and I are driving in from LA and have already done the drive to/from EDC the past two years, so we know that part is manageable. For 2027 we’re considering:
• Hotel May 13–20
• Camp EDC RV May 20–24

It would most likely just be the two of us in the RV unless we decide to invite friends later.

Hotels for the whole May 13–25 trip are already looking expensive, especially if we want a kitchen/suite setup, so now we’re debating whether Camp EDC is worth it for the experience and convenience.

Main questions:
• Is RV camping worth it for only 2 people?
• How are the showers/bathrooms realistically?
• Is the AC situation manageable during the day?
• What hookups/add-ons are actually necessary?
• Is walking back to camp after the festival as amazing as people say?
• Or would you personally choose hotels the whole time instead?

Would love honest pros/cons from people who’ve actually done it.

Day 3 Camp Afters

The amount of non-campers who flooded into camp for the day 3 Afters was really lame. Security didnt check hardly anyone and camp was FULL of non campers. Crowded the Mesa, had to leave early since it got really chaotic and couldn't even just vibe. What was the point us us campers going thru Security and paying all that money just for randos to flood our camp??

Lame AF.

Cost breakdown of 2026 EDC/Vegas trip as a solo camper

Its Day 1 of civilian life for me. Back in my accounting world, doing accounting things, and listening to Solomun, who I thought had one of the best vibes for me. Any way, here is a breakdown of my costs as a 35/m traveling solo. Yes its a lot, but I don't do much outside of this that requires a lot of money so I do splurge, and I take advantage of any payment plans I can which really is just the RV, GA pass, and RV pass. Until the month of May, all prior months are reasonable, and paid off throughout the year.

My recommendations is to camp. You can read other posts for yourself and come to your own judgement, but the fact that others spend 5-6 hours traveling back and forth to camp just does not appeal to me. I do not need much to be comfortable, so the bed and AC in the RV, plus the port showers and toilets are more than enough for me. I trade a little bit of comfort for saving that time of not commuting. Also, I am not stuck to the shuttle schedule. I can go early, come charge up and go back.

I do not do the power hook up. I think its overpriced but that may vary depending on your comfort level. I run the generator only when I am in the RV, which is typically 10AM - 8PM. When I come back from the afters, I turn it on before showering. By the time I am back, the RV is cool enough for me. Yes I pay additional gas and usage overage, but you can see my total gas line and RV usage only came out to roughly $250. A lot less than the hookup.

I do try to limit my festival food intake and try to eat most meals at my camper. Uncrustables for the win lol. Drinks however are another story, I pregame as much as I can, but once it begins snowing in Vegas, those festival drinks just keep going. Most of that food and drink line is $20 beat boxes.

Of course my costs are not 100% what yours will be, and will vary depending on group splitting and comfort levels. I have a lot of optional costs in there, that pricing can be pretty variable. Party favors for example of $500, could be as little or as high as you want. I also, could have easily brought 1 more person and split all my RV costs and saved $1500. I just choose not to.

Feel free to chime in, ask questions, or just completely ignore me lol. Hopefully it gives you some idea and insight on when cash goes out the door. Its not all in May. Stay safe, stay hydrated, and see yall at EDC Dawn.

How much more (or less) did you spend on gas for RV camping this year compared to last year?

If you drove an RV to camp both years, how much did you spend on gas last year vs this year?
What type of RV do you drive and about how many miles was the trip?

So do campers gotta pack it up and leave for a few days then come back or can we stay the whole time ?

Question is referring to the dusk till dawn experience. Will there also be different passes for campers if they allow us to stay the whole time ? Or do we need to buy camping passes twice for both weekends

Rv camping

Hi yall!

My friends and I are definitely thinking about rv camping next year.

I will never do the pods. However I know camping starts on Thursday.

How does one go about renting an rv? From where? Is it more convenient to rent one from LV or one from where we are in LA?

When do y’all start searching and securing one? How many people fit in them?

I know people add the power generator, is it required though?

Literally any tips/advice is welcomed so we can me prepared(:

TIA

Who opened for Beltran at Camp?

Does anyone know who this is that opened for Beltran at Camp? He was SO good.

Also did anyone else notice how fucked up KinAhau was during Beltran and Friends? He looked like he took way too much…. I was right up front, Beltran asked him if he was good several times and he kept nodding yes even though he was chewing his tongue with his eyes closed lol. Pretty sure he fucked something up and that’s why the music stopped when Beltran took over. The second hand embarrassment was too much for a sec…

Is it normal to have squatters in empty tents?

Long time EDC goer but first time camper. There was a vacant pod a few pods away from us that had people not camping staying in there.. just wondering if that’s normal for camp. It kinda killed the vibe a little bit

Trailer length policy

Hey headliners! Hope everyone had a wonderful EDC and is smoothly recovering from the weekend. I’m already excited for next year and starting to plan for Camp EDC.

I noticed there were a lot of very large/oversized trailers and RV setups at camp this year and I’m curious how the length policy is actually enforced. The official policy says:

>“You may not exceed the total permitted length of 45 feet, including tow vehicle.”

That said, I highly doubt some of the setups I saw were under 45 feet total, so I wanted to ask people who have brought larger rigs before.

I’m thinking of bringing my truck and travel trailer next year. With the trailer fully extended, the whole setup would be about 53 feet total, but we don’t actually need to use the extension and could camp without it.

Without the extension, the full setup would be around 48 feet total.

A few questions for anyone with experience:

  • Does the trailer overhang/extension count toward the total length?
  • Has anyone brought a setup around 48–53 feet and been fine?
  • How strict are they at check-in with measuring or enforcing the 45-foot rule?
  • Is this something they usually let slide, or is there a real risk of being turned away?

I definitely don’t want to show up and get denied entry, so I’d really appreciate any advice, firsthand experience, or insight from people who have camped with larger trailers/RVs.

Thanks all in advance!

Anyone have the ID of a song from Sunday Afters with the lyrics "My name is Bond, James Bond"

Do they typically post Cap EDC sets anywhere?

Late fathers cooler taken

Hi friends. During cleanup it appears our friends late fathers cooler got taken. It may have been moved to the trash by someone outside our tent by mistake assuming we had gone.

St17 Avenue B it’s an older model cooler that has a lot of sentimental value.

If you could please help!

OSHA would cry

The power strip is too hot to touch. It even sparked. AC unit not working. The thermometer in the Moon Glow Shift Pod is reading 118-120°F. And the help desk won’t respond.

Is this usually how Camp EDC is?
