Want to send bf presents from Canada to USA

I didn’t know where to post this so my bad if it’s the wrong location. I want to send my bf a gift for his birthday but I got him a small 30ml bottle of my perfume hypnotic poison by Dior plus some stuffies, a very small crystal, chocolate, stickers, and some items I made myself that costed me nothing to make.

It says I can’t send anything over 24% alcohol contents and also that it can’t exceed $100 usd. The total cost is about $140 cad so around $90 something usd.

If I lie about alcohol percentage will they know? Is it bad if I do that? And if they seize the package will it be returned to me? I did spend like $100 on the Perfume and I wouldn’t want that to be wasted. I really want him to be able to get the package but I also know they’ve like quadrupled down on stuff going into America so I’m slightly more nervous than usual.

If anyone can help that would be great or direct me to a better place to ask this thank you very much.

I’d like to be able to send it as soon as possible.

Parcel from India stuck. Has my name been blacklisted?

I have a parcel from India with over the counter medication that is prescription only in Canada… the reason I import is because it costs hundreds $$ in Canada and only few bucks in India, my insurance said to p*s off (Oh, Canada!). Previously I’ve had them delivered every few months with no issues. But the last one got stuck in customs in April and now says “item held by customs”, status updated 2 months after (4th of June). No love letter from them tho.

So I asked my contact to resend since it’s only a few bucks in India and majority of the cost is shipping , but the new parcel is stuck in Mississauga with “Item has been presented to Canada Border Services Agency for customs review” status since June 11th, no updates.

Do you think that’s too long and it’s already held? What are the chances that my name or address has been blacklisted and they will automatically open and check every parcel addressed to me?

Forget about the med for 1/20th of the cost?

Community Mailbox Tampering

Our community mailbox has been tampered with about 2 weeks ago. Some mailbox has been broken into and my box was "superglued" (not able to insert key anymore). I have reported this to Canada Post mailbox with tickets. It's been weeks now and nothing has been done. I called support and the guy I talked to created another ticket but issue remained the same.

I would like to get some inputs from anyone who had this issue. What would you do differently? What else I need to do? Can I go to Shoppers Drugmart and speak to Canada Post staff? Comments are appreciated.

Package stuck in Mississauga since 25th June

I have posted a package from the UK to Canada and as above there has been no movement on the tracking since and it has remained "in transit". It did apparently clear customs. I'm just wondering how normal this is or if they may have lost my package? Many thanks!

Package stuck in shipping label has been created since June 19th

Ordered from BC to MTL on June 19th via Xpresspost and know that the company has sent the package to Canada post as this is the first time this has happened and have also received confirmation from them stating so. Has this happened to anyone else recently or is it due to the long weekend?

Canadian Shipping Company options

I’m looking for options to ship from Canada. I’ve been using Easy Ship but they’re now requiring copies of my ID to store in the US (rather than just verifying identity and destroying like all the safer places do). I can’t trust this type of service anymore.
I ship about 10 packages a month and do not want to prepay the US tariffs.
In the past there were other 3rd party shipping companies suggested and I can’t find those threads.
Chitchats is far from me so that’s not a great option either.
What do you suggest?
TLDR- looking for names of 3rd party shipping companies that can integrate into Shopify that don’t require prepayment of US tariffs for shipping from Canada to the US.

Whoever delivers packages are lazy AF!!

RANT!! I live in a condo with a locker but the person left a notice card instead of walking over two steps and leaving the parcel in a locker! I am out of country for the next 8 days so I am unable to get my package. I hope they all get laid off because this is ridiculous

Want a refund, but my claim expired

Hey! This is a somewhat complicated situation, so I'll try to just use bullet points to make it easier.

- In May of last year, I had an expensive item shipped to me from MTL to ON

- Canada Post lost it, and I tried to file a claim early June. They said the sender must file the claim

- I called the sender, he said he will file a claim and replace the item if nothing came of it.

- As I understood it, it was out of my hands from then on, tbh kind of forgot about it because I had some big life adjustments coming up.

- Life stress has finally passed and I have room to think about my package. I know it's been a while, but I called Canada Post to know if a refund can be requested still, and they say to talk to the sender. I'm a bit confused as to what that means. If they expect the sender to refund me, when it's them who lost it?

- Over the past 3 months, I've been asking the sender to contact Canada Post and request a refund, but he thinks I'm lying and refuses to call Canada Post, even after I had them email me a letter verifying my package wasn't delivered. I don't think he ever followed up with his original claim. As the receiver, I'm pretty powerless.

I know it's been a long time since the send date, but I'm wondering if there's anything I can do? I don't want the sender to refund me, I want Canada Post to do it, since they lost a $400+ package.

Is it normal for a package from Hong Kong/China to go to Toronto first when the final destination is Vancouver?

Hey everyone,

I live in Vancouver and I’m expecting a package from China. The tracking shows it flew out from Hong Kong, but now Canada Post says it’s in Toronto.

Is this normal? I assumed since Vancouver is the final destination, it would arrive and clear through Vancouver/Richmond first.

Does Canada Post/CBSA sometimes route international packages through Toronto first even when the final address is in BC? Just wondering if this is normal routing or if I should be concerned.

It’s a huge thing with chit chats and I don’t know if I can use Canada post as an alternative or if I just can’t ship to the USA right now

Anyone that uses Canada post or works there that has any idea please let me know

Bullshit

Canada post should operate 24/7 around the clock like Amazon then maybe they’d get their shot delivered properly and on time. Fucking government pussies!!!

Being charged duties twice…what?!?!

I imported a package from Australia. I paid the duties at checkout. I paid $280 in duties on a $600 purchase. Yesterday Canada Post received the package and now they’re attempting to charge me $85 in duties. I called customer service and explained to them that I paid duties at checkout and the package was shipped with duties prepaid. I explained the duties I already paid should be on the customs paperwork and that I’m not going to pay them a second time. Customer service was not helpful. They told me to show my CP delivery guy my receipt and explain I already paid duties. Clearly that’s not going to work. Obviously the delivery person doesn’t have the ability to just waive the duties. There’s clearly been some kind of mistake. The bottom line is I’ve already paid duties that were equivalent to almost 50% of the cost of my purchase. I’m not going to now pay Canada post again and hope they eventually refund me. I don’t understand how it’s even possible they don’t have the breakdown of the payment and duties since they obviously have the customs paperwork to say I owe duties. I’ve prepaid duties many times and I’ve never once had this happen. Someone clearly messed up and I need to figure out how to fix this before my package arrives. I saw something about “Connect” service for submitting documents to Canada Post but the page doesn’t work.

Virtual Assistant

Anyone else notice that the "virtual assistant" in support is absolutely useless? It completely ignored my question, and kept sending me in circles and jumped from subject to subject

Package Marked as delivered?

Bought something from an online seller on the 17 th of June. It was delivered through fedex and their local partner Canada post. It was supposed to be delivered yesterday and was marked as delivered but I haven’t received anything. Checked the tracking of both senders and Canada post says that it was delivered at 10am while fedex says 2pm but I haven’t received anything. How do I go about actually receiving my package?
