Customs delays

Hi all like the title says I have a parcel stuck in customs currently, been sitting there since mid last week so nothing too crazy yet, just wondering what everyone else’s experience is of late are they backlogged or has my parcel been flagged and I’m in for a wait, just a sports jersey sent by my parents so nothing too crazy worries in terms of if it’s allowed. Thanks a million for your help!

slow death of letter mail

hi just a vent post. for context, my best friend of over a decade and i finally figured out our feelings for each other, however he's dealing w a really difficult life thing rn so we haven't been talking (his request). we restarted talking through pinterest (through separate boards on our accounts, so it looks weird af from outside) abt 2 months ago.

he lives in Ottawa (our hometown) and I'm currently in Hfx. he sent me a letter about our relationship one month ago. it has not arrived. it has literally been one month and 2 days and no letter. I've been able to talk to a couple postal workers abt this and they were super nice and apologetic bc there's rly nothing to be done.

i do not want to see any "well you should have sent it with tracking" bc It Is A Letter. my [now bf ig] should not have to send a Letter with tracking info just to make sure A Letter gets from the capital of the country to a crucial port city. every day i get less hopeful that it will actually arrive. my [friend] and i can't talk until i receive it (boundary). idk what to do apart from impatiently wait. it's just really, really frustrating, esp bc this was not an issue until recently.

anyways that's all. just feeling upset and powerless. i hope they find the letter soon. sry abt the dramatic title it just rly feels that way rn.

edit: i shouldn't have to write this because I Already Did but i will not be explaining his situation or our relationship more than i already have. you don't have to understand why we aren't talking rn, or why we're communicating this way, because it does not concern you. this has been going on for about two months. "but if you were actually close you would just talk" so like i literally just said, it's a complicated situation that i do not feel comfortable posting on the Canada Post subreddit (ik, sue me /j). you do not know our relationship or who we are as people, and i shouldn't have to write an autobiography for y'all to understand that. i am not being gaslit, i have gone through enough of that in my life to recognize when it's happening. thank u and pls take care.

Minor trying to pick up a package

I am under sixteen and I was wondering if I could order a package to the canada post office and go and pick it up. It’s not anything age restricted, but I can’t have it delivered to my house. I have a passport would that work as prof of identity?

Canada Post marked my $543 order as “signed & delivered”… but no one signed for it??

I’m honestly at a loss right now and hoping someone here has dealt with something similar.
I ordered about $543 worth of stamps directly from the Canada Post website. Got the usual emails:
Order Confirmation
Shipping Start

and then nothing..

Just silence.

Today I decided to check tracking number, because it's been a while. To my surprise it says:

Delivered + SIGNED.

I usually will get an email when something actually delivers.

Here's my issue, I did not sign anything, nobody I live with signed anything, we were not even home at the time the package arrived.

Canada Post says a signature was captured, but:

>

So basically:
Someone signed for my package, and I’m not even allowed to see the signature?? I have no idea how to ask to not be displayed on their website.

Support has been completely useless. I called the lady helping me couldn't even reach the team responsible to check the signatures, as if no oneon that team is in office.

The part that I am worried about, is that this delivered way faster according to the tracking than usual and signed instantly. Normally mail takes around 3 hours to get to my place from the local facility.

I don’t want to jump to conclusions, but this honestly feels like:

  • Either it was misdelivered and someone kept it
  • Or something sketchy happened during delivery and it’s being covered up

How does a signature-required package just disappear with zero accountability?

Has anyone else dealt with this? What did you actually do that worked?
Because right now I’m out $543 and Canada Post support is useless.

Canada Post not letting my husband pick up my mail

We have construction going on our street and were just recently made aware that Canada Post is holding our mail during construction. When I inquired, I was told the pick up times are Monday-Friday 9:30am-1:30pm. With my work being 30 mins away, I am completely unable to pick up my own mail during that timeframe. My husband works from home and we live close enough that he could go pick up during his lunch break today. However, they refused to give him my mail today, stating that only I could pick it up. Is that correct?? My husband and I have different last names so could that have caused confusion? I went on the online chat with Canada Post later today and they said that having the same address should be sufficient but then sent an authorization form for me to fill out. My husband is going to try again tomorrow but I’m just wondering if there’s anything else I should do to ensure he can get my mail…this whole process has been pretty frustrating.

Addional cost on an item from well.ca

I ordered some things from well.ca, it was over $35 so free shipping. But now Canada Post wants me to pay them $31..... Why would an order from a Canadian website have additional fees?

Mail gone missing

I have now had 3 separate pieces of mail not arrive at my house in the last 3 months. I’ve had at least 100 arrive no issue over the last 3 years. I had two identical packages shipped from the same shipper at the same time and one didn’t arrive.

The packages were all shipped regular mail from different people across the country and have all had proof of shipment( video of shipper dropping package off at/in mail box with address shown as well as stamps). They do not have tracking.

The packages contain an item worth 40-100$, and would all look similar, although impossible to tell what they are because there are strict shipping rules from where I buy them to hide what they are (a coin)

Am I to assume this is all by chance and these are just getting lost? or is this most likely someone at the sorting facility or my mail man is stealing them?

Assuming I have no recourse?

Should I send myself a package with tracker to try to bait a potentially thief?

What are people’s thoughts?

Any way to stop previous owner mail.

Hi I have a question, is there any way to communicate to Canada Post that someone no longer lives at my address. I bought my home two and a half years ago but I'm still getting mail for several of the previous owners. Most mail is official government-style mail. I always write return to sender and or moved on it for the mail carrier to pick up but I still get mail for these people.

It's absurd how expensive Canada Post is

My mother just passed away. I had to send her active passport back to Gatineau for it to be made inactive.

I went to Canada Post and they said the very minimum option with tracking is $18. That seems absurd to me, beyond the fact that I can't just submit it to a Service Canada location.

I live in the US for work at the moment and I figured I'd rush send it while I'm interring her ashes in Canada. It costs about the same to send it via UPS or USPS from New Jersey compared to what it cost from Ontario to Quebec. How is this even a thing?

eBay + Canada Post -- WARNING: no insurance for lost package

I've sold many items on eBay using their Global Shipping Program, but last month I had one get lost by Canada Post Expedited Parcel before it reached eBay's shipping hub. I figured it would be no problem, the package was insured with Canada Post. I filed an insurance claim with Canada Post.

Canada post is refusing to refund me because they cannot contact the receiver. The receiver in this case is eBay's shipping hub in Ontario.

eBay is refusing to provide any method that Canada Post could contact their shipping hub. Numerous times they provided an email address that bounces saying it is not in service and said there is no other way to contact the hub.

After dozens of emails and phone calls, it appears I will have to eat the loss as neither party is willing to help. Both parties are utterly ridiculous: eBay providing an invalid contact method and Canada Post refusing to refund without contacting the receiver when their own tracking information shows the package never made it to the receiver.

Continue to get wrong address mail…

I’m for the past year or two I get a lot of mail that is not for me, but has the same house number as an address around the corner. So I get mail for 1234 hwy 8, when I am 1234 County road 40. I have, several times, brought stacks of mail into the local post office and they’ve told me they will ask the carrier to be careful. Unfortunately the doppelgänger address is a storage facility so it’s not like I can go knock on their door.

My concern is not so much the erroneous mail that I get; I am happy to take it back to Canada Post in town. Rather, it’s the fact that I assume they are getting MY mail and are just pitching it. (I assume this because recently I bought a new car and surprise! I found out I had an unpaid fine from an automated speed camera—I definitely never got any notices.)

Despite them asking the carrier to be careful I continue to get stacks of mail that is not mine. I have put a sticker on my box asking for mail for NAME on Road Name, but it continues. What’s my next move?? I just want to make sure I’m getting my mail. I have a 5k tax cheque coming soon so…kind of important!

Parcel ripped open by employee, shows up empty months later.

Down vote me all you want, this is why so many canada post employees should be fired. This is a frequent occurrence with multiple people reporting stolen packages coming from the same location. When I called canada post, they claimed that they do not track who was driving when a parcel is moved so no wonder they think they can get away with it. And yeah I did insure it, still bullshit that thieves are not held accountable. And I shouldn't have to pay for insurance because canada post can't guarantee an employee will steal it. Terrible company, no wonder it's in so much debt.

CanadaPost as An Amazon Competitor

I was thinking today, CanadaPost currently delivers so many of Amazon’s packages. Could CanadaPost not just form an alternative to Amazon and instead of just mailing products for them, just become them instead?

It would be awesome as an alternative to having to give money to an American company, plus it would save us all money if it were a non-profit. I feel like Amazon is essentially just a utility, and making it public would be far more sensible.

Parcel never delivered to me. Always carded. FOR YEARS

For years all I can get is a card and I have to pick it up at a post office on the NEXT BUSINESS DAY. I've lived in houses and apartments, no difference. and zero issues with other couriers. At first I thought I somehow missed the knock, but after like a million cards where I'm actually home and sitting next to my door, I'm pretty sure some workers are just disgustingly lazy and deserve to be punished.

And yes, I'm aware that sometimes senders choose to have the parcel sent to the post office directly which I have no problem with, but my parcels came from both businesses and individuals who I knew did not use this feature. Some workers are just disgusting and deserve to be punished.

Is there a way to effectively report them? The online support is not helpful.

Flex delivery is awful don't waste your money

I paid $150 for four boxes and then I go on their website I'm ready to go in my trip and ship the boxes to myself at the destination and the website just keeps crashing saying they can't verify my identity!!!

I call them

Wait on hold for 30mins twice

They can't help me

I'm legit taking the 150$ loss on this trash service.

Your better off selling your shit vs shipping with flex.

Where are my parcels!!

I am so frustrated. I have two packages coming from Vancouver xpress post. One was mailed out may 4th with expected delivery the day after next. It’s now delayed with no updates since accepted at post office in Vancouver.

Second parcel sent out, accepted at post office in Vancouver and expected delivery today in Burlington ON but due to the previous debacle I doubt that’s happening.

Have they just disappeared into CP oblivion? Anyone else have packages with only one scan?!

Ugh (Vent/Rant)

I am so over this. Anytime I order a package worth over $100, the package is handed to some random vagrant outside of my building instead of having a pick up card left or having it placed in the locked packages box inside the building. Canada Post never seems to care. This really sucks when the only options some sellers have is Canada Post. This has put myself and the merchants that I purchase through a bunch of money. Avoid using Canada Post at all costs.

Delayed for several weeks

Hey guys, looking for some help here
I have a tracked package coming in from Ontario (I live in Montreal) that has been delayed for almost 3 weeks now.
Expected delivery was 1 day after the item was out for delivery. The only notice I have is that it’s delayed with no further updates since April 22nd. I started a ticket with no help there, then phoned Canada Post and was told it’s not up to the sender to contact them? The sender is now in UAE and barely answers my messages. Is there no way of checking their backlogs or figuring something out? What’s the proceedure like when this happens? Is there a world where the package gets scanned in a couple of months and sent back out for delivery?
I’m so confused. The item was last in Montreal so I know it’s somewhere here.
