2003 Cadillac DeVille Pump Issue

Been having a number of issues with my car, any help or advice would be sincerely appreciated!

  1. Leaky gasket and oil in spark plugs. Replaced both. Also changed oil and replaced oil filter.

  2. Massive loss of power, unable to reach even remotely high RPMs. Turns out the catalytic converter is plugged up and there's also an issue with the sensors detecting the drive train, and I need to clean the converter to get the RPMs up high enough for a reset. Got cleaner, opened fuel access hatch and drained fuel then filled it to 3.5 gallons as directed and added the cleaner.

Since doing this I haven't been able to get it to start up. It turns over but won't run. And yes, I have turned the key to the "on" position and let the pump run and repressurize the lines plenty of times.

My Dad passed recently and it was his car. I'm trying hard to fix it up but I'm stumped.

2023 GMC Acadia brake repair cost

My 2023 GMC Acadia has been squeaking every time I apply the breaks. It does it when I’m reversing as well as when the vehicle is in drive. I’m two years in with it constantly squeaking and it’s gotten horribly loud and embarrassing now. I am looking to repair the brakes but I’m wondering if yall can give me an estimate on how much this will cost me. Thank you!

Is this rust around the rear leaf spring mount fixable? 1972 Ford Maverick

I was passed down a 1972 Ford Maverick and found this rusted-out spot in the passenger rear trunk corner.

From underneath, the rail that runs below it seems solid when I poke at it with a screwdriver. But the metal around this mount/bracket is clearly rotted out.

Is this something that can be repaired, or is it a sign the car isn’t worth messing with? Is there a replacement part for this area, or would a shop have to make the metal from scratch?

I’m pretty new to old-car rust, so any advice on what the next best step should be and what else I should check would be appreciated.

How bad does this clutch look

TOB finally give up on my 2014 BRZ with 66000 miles, pulled the transmission out to replace it, this is how the clutch looks, I ordered new clutch kit with flywheel but I have a drifting event coming up in a week, so I’m not sure if the new clutch will arrive in time, would you even consider putting this clutch back on? Or I’m just looking for trouble?

Exhaust cut right after catalytic converter.

Hi all,

A few weeks ago I went for a drive to help a friend pick up some furniture for their new apartment. The way over everything was normal. Stopped at the pickup location and came back about 10 minutes later to load up. Started driving and the exhaust was really loud. Could definitely smell some fumes after a while and drove the short distance with the windows down.

Checked it out closer today and the exhaust was completely cut right after my catalytic converter. Was thinking of using one of those pipes that slides over both ends and you clamp down to seal, however there isn’t a ton of pipe left on the catalytic converter side and the welding prevents the pipe from sliding on.

This is a 1994 Nissan d21. The frame has some rust, nothing too bad but it’s starting to be more than surface rust so maybe only a couple years left.

What do you think the best diy option would be going forward? I would rather not have to buy a grinder to clean up the welding. I do have a sawzall with a metal blade which is how I was going to cut the bit of pipe further back.

I'm in LA(California) and I just scratched my car while parking. How much will it take to get it fixed? I think the scratches are pretty light except some spots on the top.

CRV 2025 hybrid AC fan noise under the hood

Urgent help needed : Could someone please confirm if there’s an issue? I have a 2025 CRV hybrid, and I’ve noticed a noise coming from under the hood on the passenger side when the AC is on. This noise doesn’t come inside the cabin. It’s a new problem, and I’m worried it might need a mechanic. I have a long trip ahead, and unfortunately, all dealerships are closed today, Sunday. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated!

Spark plug shell stuck in socket.

First time changing spark plugs on my 2021 Mazda 6 Carbon Edition. The first 3 plugs torque in correctly without issue. The 4th one i tried torquing in and wouldn't tighten until a click. I dont know if I was screwing it in incorrectly but I kept going. I stopped and loosened it and pulled it back out to see what the issue was. I pulled it out to find the threading was pulled off and is now stuck in the socket. Here are photos above. Not sure where to go from here.

Ruined my 2022 Rubicon media screen after a beach day + car wash. Radio/Bluetooth/Display dead. Help!

Hey everyone,
I think I messed up and need some advice/troubleshooting steps.

Took my 2022 Wrangler Rubicon to the beach, drove along the shore with the doors off, and inevitably a good amount of sea spray/water got inside. Surprisingly, everything was working completely fine right after the beach.

The issue started after I took it to a self-serve hand car wash to clean it out. I used the handheld sprayer with soap and water, and right after that, the media screen completely died.

Current Symptoms:

Dead: Center display screen, radio, and Bluetooth are completely non-responsive.

Working: The physical climate control buttons (AC, auto, auto-off, etc.) right below the screen still work fine.

I’m assuming water finally breached the dash or the back of the head unit during the spray down.

Has anyone experienced this specific issue or have any ideas on what to check first?

Is there a specific fuse or relay I should pull first to check if it just popped?

If the screen is fried, am I looking at replacing just the glass, the whole Uconnect head unit, or could it be a wiring harness issue?

Any chance letting it dry out completely with a fan will bring it back to life, or is it likely a lost cause?

2022 Dodge Charger 392 Diagnostic

For context:
Recently, I was driving my 2022 392 charger Daytona when my aftermarket front splitter made of ABS plastic broke off on the highway forcing me to drive over it.
I had gotten off the highway and pulled into a close parking lot, a few things I noticed was the ac started blowing hotter air than normal and the air intake temperatures during idling sat at around 165’F. The interior temp was close to 100’ itself. I also hear a slight pssssssst noise coming from the center of the engine bay. I had driven it home and the temps fell to around 100 but then increased back to 165 when idling. I didn’t notice any major issues during the drive. However, I feel the front left tire feels a little more rough when driving but the PSI remained the same. That was the main area the front splitter passed under. Furthermore, I ran the diagnostic codes on the chargers system and nothing appeared.

Basically, my question is does anyone know what the pssst is and what the roughness on the tire would indicate? Any help is appreciated. Just over stressing trying to figure this out.

Cheap fixes to lessen appearance?

any cheaper ways to minimize the appearance of these scratches without replacing the entire part? it’s not a surface level scratch (got under the paint at its deepest points) but its shallow

Is my repair estimate too low?

I have an appointment Tuesday to replace my brake booster and power steering. I know it’s difficult to give a firm answer but I wanted a ballpark. He said $600-800 on the HIGH end. I had them confirm again that this is for both with the parts, and he said less if it takes less. Their labor rate is $150/hr.

Is this real? Or have I just gotten used to being overcharged at other places?

Vehicle is 1995 GMC G2500. Thanks!

Hit curb (really hard) and now car won’t start advice?

Hey just as the title says I hit a curb(50 mph at least) cracked the rim on the passenger side severed my abs sensor. I got a donut on it and it started right up and I drove it home. Got home and now it won’t start. It clicks one time and won’t turn over. The dash will say no key detected but I’ve tried putting the key right on the button and it still won’t start. I can’t find anything online about an inertia switch. It’s a 2022 Nissan Altima. Any advice? I checked the fuses as well and they’re fine. My undercarriage is still intact.
