Different part time ( minimal hour) jobs

Hi! I’m moving to Carmel and will be working a 9am-6pm job but I’m debating getting another job that’s just part time. Maybe working 5 hours a week after those hours or even before! I was thinking at a front desk at a yoga or workout place, potentially working at retail ( was thinking Alo or Lululemon would be fun). But if anyone has any recommendations of part time/ PRN jobs that would be fun for a 23 year old and as a way to make some extra money please let me know!!

Nail tech rec

NY transplant looking for a good tech to do a full set. I had been going to La Brise for a while but I feel like their quality was all over the place. I am used to an inexpensive russian manicure and the prices out here are kinda bananas. Open to options in Carmel and surrounding area.

I just want a full set (acrylic or hard/tap gel) that arent lumpy or crooked. Help a girl out!

Did anyone else just hear that loud ass jet noise?

Legitimately thought that a plane was going to crash in our neighborhood. It nearly shook the house! Was there some kind of flyover going on? I heard sirens afterwards so I hope an accident didn't take place. That was NOT a propeller plane or a helicopter

Apartment Suggestions

I am a recent grad and will need an apartment around the area within the next year. I'd love recommendations or what's not recommended. These have seemed like they have the best reviews:

- Alexandria

- Lakes of Carmel

- Sunrise on the Monon

- Wentworth

- Flats at Fishers

- Woods of Britton

- North End

- Harmony

Any downsides to them or recommendations for apartments in Carmel, Westfield, Noblesville, Fishers would be appreciated! Also looking for the quietest (I know it can't be completely avoided lol)

Need advice on these apartments ( Carmel area)

Hi! I’m touring some apartments within the next week and I’m touring these 3 based on my budget and good locations. I’ll be touring One One Six, Highpointe, and Legacy Flats all owned by JC Hart. If you have any insights to these please let me know! I’m on a pretty strict budget of around $1300 ( without utilities) and these all seem to be in my budget. I’m leaning towards One One Six but insight would be great!

Restaurants near Carmel! Stop me from going to 1933 or Anthony's every time!

My husband and I love going out for dinner dates around the Carmel area, but we feel like we've exhausted our options on restaurants. We like an upscale vibe and I enjoy a good glass of wine. Ambience and a little bit of a scene is everything to me. I hate feeling like the only ones in a restaurant.

We recently traveled into Indy, which felt like a long way to go for dinner to go to the fountain room, and while it was pertectly pleasant, it wasn't something that we telt the need to do again. We've also been to Harry and Izzy's.
What are your favorite restaurants in the Carmel area that we should try? What do you like about a recommended restaurant?

Places feel like we've been too much or don't need to go back too:

1933
Anthony's
Monterreys Josephine
El matador
Onkori
Social Cantena
Vivante
Cake Bake
Noah Grant

Visiting - need a friend for America's birthday

Hey everyone, I'm in Carmel for the weekend. Came to see a friend, didn't work out so well. Would very much like to watch fireworks at Carmelfest with someone (or some group). Army vet, very patriotic, hate the idea of being alone on the 250th.

Recommendation for Sedan Windows Tint

Own a 2016 Sedan but none of the windows are tinted. After having a baby, now i feel like its time to tint for various reasons; privacy, UV protection. Is it worth it?

Where is the best location for windows tinting around carmel interns of cost, quality and reliability?

Thanks in advance!

4th of July Parade

We’re planning to do the 4th of July parade this year with our toddler. We’ve never been before, but I keep reading it can be really challenging to find a spot since people leave chairs out to claim spots weeks in advance.

Any suggestions for success? We won’t be putting chairs out ahead of time to be respectful, and won’t be devastated if our spot isn’t “perfect”. We’re just going to give our toddler a good time!

Sue Finkam is losing it

Sue is big mad that her constituents seem to be disappointed in her leadership. Rather than meet people where they are to understand concerns, she makes a snarky Facebook post. Here’s to hoping this joke of a mayor is ousted in next year’s election.

Dog Friendly Drinks

If I brought my lab with me (when it’s not sooo hot) what are some dog friendly places to get drinks at in Carmel? Anything along the monon would be preferred. Are there any places that allow dogs indoors? Thanks!!

Trying to meet people in my own way…

Ok. So, I’m single and living in midtown. Since we don’t take out personal ads in the newspaper anymore- I’m trying this!Every once in a while I run into the cutest guy with a long haired dachshund on the Monon Trail. Anyone know who I’m talking about? Is he single? Married? Gay? Would love to meet him for coffee if he’s not already taken. Shhhhh…no judgment. Worth a shot. Right?

where can I find an ICEE in Carmel or surrounding areas?

This is oddly specific, but where can I find a real ICEE in or around Carmel?

I've searched online already and can't find anything definitive. If you've actually seen one somewhere recently, I'd really appreciate the recommendation. I'm just looking for confirmed locations, not "they might have them" suggestions. Thanks!

Meeting People in Carmel

>Moving to Indy soon to start new job after grad, 23 y/o guy who likes social activities (sports/going out on occasion), I like the Carmel area a lot and am leaning living there or over Downtown Indy but seems like it would be harder to meet people in Carmel because I've heard most people around my age are from there or moved back and have there people already, looking to see how true this is, appreciate any help!

What in the dog whistle is this?

Linkedin Post from Mayor Sue Finkam

Maybe I’m reading too much into this, but this post feels… weird.

I care about public safety. I don’t think people should have to deal with repeat offenders or feel unsafe where they live. That’s a real issue.

But the way this is worded feels like it’s basically saying, “Carmel is safe and good, and Marion County is sending dangerous people into our community.” It feels very suburb-versus-city without actually saying that part out loud.

If there are specific problems with the courts, jail, prosecutors, or repeat-offender policies, then say that. But just pointing at Marion County while talking about “families” and “safe neighborhoods” feels coded as hell.

Am I the only one reading it that way?

DIY Woodshop

Anyone have any recommendations for a woodshop/makerspace in/around Carmel? Want to do build a small at-home skateboarding ramp with my younger brother (I’m M25 and he’s M12).

Family Trip

My extended family of 18 is heading up to beautiful Pacific Grove this week. On Wednesday morning, we plan on visiting Point Lobos. Does anyone have any tips? I’m a little confused about how to organize the visit. Is there just one parking lot? Do we just park and hike?

We’d also like to watch the US play in the World Cup on Wednesday and were thinking about going to Carmel for dinner and the game. Any suggestions of fun places that can accommodate our party of 18?

Thanks!

Lost rescue dog

I hope it’s okay to share here. She was last seen at 161 & Hazel Dell on 6/23. Before that, she was near 169 & Gray. Please call the phone number listed if you see her or have any footage on a camera. She will run further away if you try to approach. 💔 I’m not the owner, but am a neighbor and just wanted to repost their message from FB. Please keep an eye out!

Skateboarding

I’m 21 years old grew up in carmel as an alternative gal and it really frustrates me we have no skate shop
Kids that are young and can’t drive have no way to get a skateboard if their parents aren’t supportive
Carmel deserves a skate shop if we are repping diversity as much as we say
The skateboarding community matters to carmel and to everyone
Do better for people who grew up different

EDIT: ANYONE WHO IS INTERESTED IN RUNNING SKATEBOARDING EVENTS OR EVEN EVENTUALLY OPENING A SHOP PLEASEE!!! Message me🛹
