Rooster chickens live next door

We are looking at a house that’s for sale the neighborhood is Buttercup street is Sycamore. House is great on huge lot. No HOA. But while at Open house we heard a rooster crow. No big deal I grew up in country. Will this be a problem since roosters I hear crow all day but just sunrise? My husband says he’s ok w it. But he’s a light sleeper so I’m not sure for him. I want go back see where the coop is. Thoughts

Quick question…

I check in on my best friend’s grandfather from time to time, but today he called me because his senior group took a trip to the Goodwill on Whitestone and Parmer. Apparently the parking lot was full of a lot of pick up trucks and folks milling around and several “search and rescue” vehicles. He said it looked like they were having a meeting or something in the parking lot.

My question is, does anyone know if anything significant is going on? He’s very anxious about it and short of calling the nonemergency police number, which I really do not want to do, I thought I would ask here.

I know that a lot of S & R teams do meet ups and reconnaissance before significant weather events. In this case, I was thinking with the impending storms that are coming ( they are already warning about flooding and winds and hail, etc.) maybe they are having a meeting to get ahead of things.

I would really like to ease his mind, but I don’t know how to go about doing that.
I appreciate any insight or information you may have.

Thank you so much!

Social meetup @ Dug it up Cedar Park 05/29/2026

We’re back with social meetups! We’re running a social monthly event and smaller weekly events will be held only for discord users - you can join the server once you’ve attended a meetup, just ask anyone for an invite if I forget to add you.

I’ve been doing these meetups in Leander/Cedar Park/Liberty Hill area for almost two years and have found a really good community. Have a hard time making friends? Come to one of our laid back events and meet some new people? Want to develop actual friendships? Keep coming to these!

We’re a group of locals and non locals that like to get together once in a while at local bars/pubs/etc. Whether you’ve lived in the area forever or for just a little bit or just passing by feel free to come along and have a good time, bring a friend or a familiar face! Everyone is welcome!

Where: Dug it up (Cedar Park): 401 Cypress Creek Road # 600, Cedar Park, TX 78613

When: 18:00/06:00pm Friday 29th of May 2026

FAQ:

What happens at this meetup? Just some socializing, getting to know and meet new people. We usually grab a table, order drinks and or food but you’re not pressured to drink or eat. We discuss a variety of subjects, sometimes do board games, as well we might move to a different location depending on the vibe so the post might get updated throughout the night so keep an eye if you’re planning on attending later.

What’s the age range of the attendees? Usually very varied, from early 20’s to mid 50’s . Some places that we go to might have an age limit for entrance so please check that if you’re under 21.

Do you just talk in memes or about reddit stuff? Not at all, usually reddit is never discussed. We discuss music, movies, gardening, cooking, tv shows, arts and crafts, work, family, current world events and so on. We’ve had people that don’t even use reddit show up!

Can I bring someone with me? Yes you can, there’s no signup required or a checklist. You can come by yourself or with a friend or whoever you want or a pet, most places that we go to usually have an outdoor space. Usually no pets allowed inside any establishments due to health code regulations.

What time can I come? Anytime! I usually put a start time for me to be there, but you’re more than welcome to show up earlier or show up later if you have something going on, there’s no attendance or anything. You’re more than welcome to leave at any given time as well.

What if I don’t drink? That’s completely fine, most places that we organize these always have non alcoholic beverages.

I can’t make it! When’s the next one?? The next one will be on June 26th at Pinballz at Lakeline. Whenever I post the event I will try to announce the next event location as well.

This is an inclusive meetup and group, no hate will be tolerated in any shape or form.

My name is Ana and I'll be there, feel free to message me or comment with any questions. I'll update the post or comment on the day with the location of where we're sitting, will have a little reddit snoo sign on the table with the Leander logo.

Launching a “Screen-Free” physical adventure for kids on Monday. I think I am 90% there, what am I missing?

Hello fellows!

I'm a Product Manager by day, and next week I'm officially flipping the switch on Paper Portals, a 6-week physical mail adventure designed to get kids (ages 6–10) off their iPads and back into "dossiers and clues." This is kind of a pilot for summer vacation before I proceed with the full plan!

The Stack:
• Frontend: Carrd (Pro)
• Backend: Stripe (Collecting custom metadata for "Cadet Names")
• Fulfillment: Manual physical shipping of curated missions.

The Logistics:
I've wired a 100% no-code flow where parents enroll their kids, provide a "Cadet Name," and receive a physical envelope every week starting June 1st for 6 weeks.

Why I need your eyes:
This is my first launch and I am doing solo so I am not yet aware of my blind spots. Before I start my marketing push tomorrow, I'd love feedback on:

  1. Friction: Does the transition from the
"adventure story" to the Stripe checkout feel trustworthy? Is the content good sales pitch to parents?

  2. Clarity: Is the $30 one-time fee for a 6-week physical service clear enough?

  3. The FAQ: I've embedded a custom HTML/ CSS accordion-does it hold up on your mobile device?

  4. Do you see anyother issues?

Link: https://paperportals.fun

Thanks for the "pre-flight" help!

Looked into some groups, been to wild west, shooters, and the all good, got a rec membership but everyone seems to hangout with their clique. Hopefully this changes that 💁🏽‍♂️ DMs are open to anyone and I'm open to anything

Birthday Party for a 10 year old

Any suggestions for a special birthday party for a girl turning 10? I was thinking of a spa day with a yummy lunch. I know there is a little girls spa but it’s crazy expensive and wasn’t that great. I was thinking of paying a few girls and renting this place called the kitchen house? It doesn’t have to be this but so far that’s all I’ve come up with. We just went to a birthday party there and the girls made pizzas. It’s was so sweet. Help!

Looking for casual restaurant where each customer does their own walk up ordering

Ya I know, that sounds like fast food but was hoping for something in between fast food and traditional table waited service. We are meeting in a large group for mid to late morning meal, but the check becomes a real hassle for a group that large. I want to avoid having someone feel like they need to pick up the entire tab. As for type of food, I am not picky. Others in the group might be but that's another matter 😄

Superman Ice Cream

Hi all! Does anyone know where I can find real Superman ice cream. My mom is from Michigan and it is her favorite. We’ve tried via 313 but theirs is not it and we know kilwins has it good but they rarely have it available for some reason. I’ve heard central market has a brand but it’s so far I’d fear it be melted by the time I get home. Any ice cream shops in cedar park Leander Liberty hill that have it?

Daycare in Avery ranch

My LO is 22 months old - goes to a home daycare and thrives over there - she falls sick often due to daycare situation but they do take care of her pretty well otherwise.

Unfortunately, she hasn't developed good eating habits yet. I still spoon feed her at home and they partially spoon feed her at day care since she is a poor eater and throws away food, staying hungry.
This home daycare keeps me worry-free on her overall care and allow me to focus on other parts of my live during those 7 hours of the day.

Now I'm moving to Avery ranch and the move doubles the commute time for me to drop her off and pick her up. I don't prefer private/franchise daycares - they are highly commercialized.

I'm looking for a daycare in Avery ranch neighborhood to help with my situation, where should would get true individual attention to thrive.

Please share your experience or inputs about day cares closer to. Avery ranch . Thanks a lot.
