My mom is reading a book and...

She sends me this because my husband just loves her. I think she's lovely but am largely indifferent to her. My husband on the other hand... oh he would leave me for her. She's the only thing he gets genuinely excited about. He listens to her every day and it's one of his defining personality quirks.

I'm only in this subreddit because of him. But let's do a roll call for all the other dudes whose favorite singer is Celine Dion?

Céline Dion’s Anticipated Return: New French Album Coming in 2026.

Céline Dion is preparing a new French-language album after

  • D'eux (1995): Best-selling French album of all time (10–12 million copies). Absolute masterpiece written with Jean-Jacques Goldman.
  • S’il suffisait d’aimer (1998): Huge commercial success and beloved fan favorite, another brilliant collaboration with Goldman.
  • D’elles (2007): Concept album celebrating womanhood, with songs written exclusively by renowned female authors.
  • Sans attendre (2012): Emotional comeback album blending love, loss, and resilience with powerful ballads.
  • Encore un soir (2016): Deeply emotional return, critically acclaimed and Diamond-certified in France.
  • Lead single “Dansons”, written by Jean-Jacques Goldman, was released in April 2026 to huge anticipation, ahead of her Paris residency.

Is this anecdote confirmed or just fan fiction?

After having the twins (her 12th and 13th children), Celine's mom felt exhausted and went to the church and asked the priest if she and Celine's dad should stop having sex after their 13th child. The priest said no. Then her mom and her dad conceived for the last time and that conception led her mom to giving birth to her 14th child that would later become a legend that the world knows: Celine Dion. Butterfly effect is truly wild: if the priest had said yes that day, Celine wouldn't exist in this world. I cannot imagine the music industry in 1990s without Celine.

Her song "D'amour ou d'amitie" is a perennial favorite in French classrooms

Students who learned French as a second language would listen to this song in class to take in and mimic the pronunciation.

It is probably her most famous French song during her pre-Eurovision era.

The song is also one of the most recognizable French songs, on the same level of Les Rois Du Monde.

This is a long shot but many years ago Celine was featured in what I remember as a news segment’s or documentary. It featured her backstage where she did an impromptu performance of the classic gospel song “Oh Happy Day.”

Celine’s Mother’s Day Media Post 🥰

Maman,
Your strength, your tenderness, and your love has shaped who I am.

You remain with me...quietly guiding, and so deeply felt in my life and in the lives of your grandchildren.

As the mother to René-Charles, Nelson, and Eddy, I’m reminded every day how powerful that love is…and how beautifully it carries forward in all that we do.

Today, and always, we honor you.

Celine's Live Performances That Easily Outshine The Studio Versions.

Like we all know, Céline was born for the stage. In multiple occasions, the live performance of a song hit so much more that the recorded version.

My exemple : This perfomance of Only One Road for The Tonight Show. The song is great, but the control and power in this performance is simple out of this world.

Curious to know what performance y'all would put in this category?

I think Celine could’ve sung lower had she wanted to

Celine has always had great low notes, especially in later years where she is comfortable singing D3s. Her lowest note is Bb2 and I think had she wanted she could sing much lower than that.

Is Céline Dion,s Comeback One Of The Biggest Comeback in French Music History?

Céline Dion’s return with 16 sold-out shows at Paris La Défense Arena in 2026 is being hailed as the biggest comeback in the history of French-speaking singers. The emotion, demand (over 9 million ticket requests), and public frenzy are only comparable to the legendary returns of Johnny Hallyday and Jacques Brel. the Queen of romantic ballads is back proving once again her unique place in the music industry.

"If we could start over" is a masterpiece

Unison, her first ever English language studio album, will always have a special place in my heart. So many bops. And the album, recorded in late 1989, is perfect late 80s vibe. My favorite track is "If we could start over".

What was your first ever memory of seeing Celine?

I first saw Celine in 1996 when I came home from school and saw It's all coming back to me music video. I thought the song is a masterpiece and the music video is a visual feast and the concept of a dead lover either not realizing that he is dead or hasn't been sent to heaven yet still trying to visit his love as a spirit is so fascinating to me.

But the first time i HEARD Celine was probably earlier. I remember hearing the song "D'amour ou d'amitie" somewhere when I was very little.

Anyone able to purchase the Celine Dion Paris 2026 tickets?

Please if anyone can share, I’m a genuine fan and it’s just so ridiculous to see how many people resell it for ridiculous price!
