I’ve been a fan of Chad’s for many years, coming from BOAD, to being a founding member from day 1.. but the show has lost its spark to me.

The best shows have never been the solo shows. And that’s 90% of what we get from the podcast now, outside of YouTube (and those shows are ad city..).

His best shows have always been bringing together his motley crew of characters to the fortress. But he has both pushed away all the interesting characters and is leaving the studio. Tor, Antman, Jim Jester, and now Biker Sean are all maybe once a week if we’re lucky.. otherwise we just get solo shows where dukes is bitching about someone or something that’s pedantic. He’s going on these roadtrips, and acting like they are on par with the old beach trip shows.. they aren’t, because once again, it’s just him.

I think Dukes had set up a good gig with his show, and he understood his strengths.. but he’s since pushed both the people and the place that made it possible out of the equation. And what’s left just isn’t fun or funny..

Recently, I’ll have his show on speaker while doing things around the house, and it’s just him whining about this or that… even my GF is like “..god that guy is so annoying,” and nowadays I have a hard time not agreeing with her. There’s no good bits or skits left, no characters, and no central spot for jocularity.

It’s sad because this show and its character have been a part of my life for a better part of a decade, but I guess all good things come to an end 😩

Admittedly I am a Patriots fan, so maybe I just notice it more. but it feels like not a weeek goes by where Dukes doesn’t bring up the Vrabel/Russini affair during the NFL recap. He responds to Schefter tweets about injured QBs asking about the affair, anytime Schefter tweets about Romo he brings up Russini and Vrabel.

For a guy who complains about The NFL and its media spending so much time on “non football stuff“ he is beating the shit out of this dead horse.

I know most of you don't listen anymore, but I still do ever though it annoys the shit out of me. Old habits do die hard.
At this point I just laugh at him. Dukes made a bet with Biker to lose weight. Dukes claimed he didn't remember the bet and then really got worked up because Sean wouldn't cut his hair, stuck to his boundary, lost the weight and then actually won the damn weight loss contest. And somehow Dukes was wronged and is the victim. Again.

That's what makes it so pathetic. Biker Sean did something Dukes either couldn't or wouldn't do, and worse, Sean didn't roll over and do what Dukes wanted. So now Dukes has to pout, bitch, and act personally betrayed because another grown man told him no.

The guy has an unbelievable talent for turning absolutely anything into a grievance about himself. One of the guys could cure cancer and Dukes would be pissed he didn't ask permission first. The saddest part is he doesn't get why he can't keep a friend. Even the Antman tapped out.
