This took about 10h in clip studio paint!!! I've also posted this on insta @Artzy.kat if u wanna support me on there, Makima is scary and cool ASF
She's in a traditional dress of my region : Bretagne in France, or "Small Brittany".
Ik this is a chainsaw man subreddit but there’s no other really active places on here for fujimoto’s other works that I saw.
“In the beginning of the manga, Yuta’s mom is dying from an illness and asks him to record her until her final breath. He’s hesitant at this request, but ultimately agrees. Despite his mom’s constant criticism, he continues to go along with her request until the day he refuses to go to the hospital to record her final breath. When Yuta edits down the thousands of hours of footage into a short film for his school, he creates a very touching movie that honours his mom, until the final scene where yuta runs away from his mom’s hospital as it explodes.
Despite how crude and edgy the ending seems, the explosion actually has a deeper meaning, as it’s supposed to represent Yuta breaking free. While he did agree to do it, Yuta most likely didn’t want to film his mom until her death. Not only is it a heavy request for a 12 year old, his mom’s constant shaming wasn’t making it any easier. The explosion is a dramatic, yuta-fashioned way of showing the end of him passively obeying his mom’s will, and is also a depiction of the bursting/release of emotions that were pent up from him refusing to disobey his mom.
Later on, he meets Eri who helps him create another movie for the next school festival. It’s revealed that she’s also dying from an illness, and similar to the situation with his mom, Yuta decides to record her up until her final moments and turn the footage into a movie. This time, it’s very well received, yet Yuta can’t help but spend years re-editing the film because it felt like something was missing. As an adult, Yuta is miserable following a tragic car crash that killed his entire family, and decides to kill himself in the building where he and Eri would always watch movies together. There, he finds out that Eri is still alive and is actually a vampire. After a little chat he feels relieved, and comments that he thinks he found out why he kept recutting Eri’s movie as he walks away from the building as it explodes (impying the explosion is what was missing).
When Eri tells yuta that whenever she watches his movie, she will get to remeber him again and again, that snaps him out of his trance. In the making of his second movie, Yuta got so caught up in making a movie about Eri, that he forgot that this is HIS movie. The building explosion is supposed to represent the end of Yuta’s fixation on Eri and the start of him being himself again (because the explosion is supposed to show Yuta adding in his “pinch of fantasy” again), and his walk away from the building in contrast to the run away from the hospital is supposed to represent the realization that his life is his own and he can live for himself.”
I have some mixed emotions on the ending but I've been seeing some takes that I really don't agree with like "it's the perfect ending for Denji" or "fujimoto just gives a happy ending out of nowhere", the thing that people are missing is that Denji isn't smiling in the final chapter, sure csm was bad for him but he also said he wanted to eat steak, the story could be summed up as because the MC kept on making the wrong choices, the world ended and his best friend had to sacrifice himself, so the MC has to settle for a mundane life, in the end he looks at Asa and her school life, unaware that those are things that he had and lost
I wish Fujimoto would make a sequel because this really isn't the ending I want for Denji
I'm sad, so I decided to do this
I think the idea of a villain being mad at Denji for his questionable morality and the fact that he intentionally let his brother die is really interesting and his backstory is sound.
The problem is, when you look at what he actually does in the story, the pieces just don't fit together and he comes off as inconsistent. First, he kills Yuko, presumably for being part devil. Then he goes out of his way to rescue Denji and Asa from the Falling Devil. Then, after disappearing for a long LONG time, he comes back with a strong sense of justice to kill Famine, believing that she's the Death Devil, before getting consumed and mind controlled by the actual Death Devil. Following this, he attacks Denji and Yoru, all the while criticizing Denji's morality and then he dies. After this, the Fire Devil reveals his backstory to Denji and that apparently, he "lived for revenge on him".
This character is so painfully inconsistent, it almost feels like there were supposed to be two of them at one point. He helps the Church fight against the Prophecy and devils but needs to be mind controlled. He hates Denji but goes out of his way to save him and doesn't actually make a move until he's mind controlled.
I REALLY hope the anime eventually changes some things because this part of the story is just ROUGH. Fujimoto wasn't even trying by the end.

Enjoying it so far. It's refreshing for a pervert protagonist to understand consent, and it's impossible to not root for someone that's swiftly being actualized as he builds his Maslov Pyramid.
Just go to where we learned Denji is only 16 though, so now I kinda hate Makima for grooming a minor. If the Gun Devil kills her in a final act I don't think I'll mind at all.
Really, it's only Power that's precious. Of course she always acts like an overexcited toddler when AFAIK, she's literally never interacted with anyone else before.
Oh, and Aki is a bro, which means I'm sure he's gonna die soon. We're gonna see he ultimate sword and attack, and see it doing nothing just to show how much a threat an upcoming baddie is. They don't pay him nearly enough for the shit they put hm though.
What I'm wondering is, the Zombie Devil didn't think he was anything special, but now they seem to be gunning for him(no pun intended), so is someone in the agency tipping them off? If it's Meowmy I'm gonna be mad.
