I really enjoyed the 5cast interview with Maggie, but I guess I’m not understanding people’s stance on completely getting rid of prison. My thoughts on it are full of nuance and my own personal experiences, and idk if I’m just being ignorant or if I’m not fully comprehending what she means by completely eradicating the prison system.
I know someone who was a pedo, a serial rpist, and serial / spree killer. He was in prison most of my life for the sexual assaults, but about 10 years ago, he was caught up using DNA and put away for life. Because of my closeness to that, I don’t see a world where that could be reformed. Sure, he was a child once who was let down by the system, more than likely experienced his own abuse, but I feel that once people cross into that territory, they should stay in prison.
I heard Andrew say the “John Wayne gacy” thing, but truly, I just want to know what the expectation would be for people like that. I’m all for prison reform, and I am fully aware that I’m half an idiot and I could be finding myself in that “but what about xyz” camp, but I truly just want to know what people’s ideas are when it comes to people who commit crimes like that, when they speak on prison reform.

Hey yall! Been a fan of Andrew’s works since AGNB and always appreciated his coverages especially around the political zeitgeist in America. Just finished watching his interview with Maggie Freleng who I wasn’t aware of beforehand but definitely became a fan. Them discussing potential psyops transpiring around the CK assassination was hella interesting and made me want to know more about the individuals and historical events that are connected to these operations. As a gen z myself, the last few years have got me feeling real disenfranchised with the current system. Seeing world leaders and mainstream media bend the knee to tech oligarchs and the 1% behind the curtain, the handling of the epstien files, the slow corporatization and shittfication of the internet at times can feel real disheartening.
That being said I’d like to be more educated of the inner workings behinds these discourses plus I’ve also been meaning to read more this year so if yall got any recs for books from any genre (ideally fiction to start off) related to the stuff they were discussing, themes of anti-establishment / corporation, counterculture, conspiracies, psyops etc I’d really appreciate it. Thanks guys ✋
In a recent interview with Maggie Freleng, Andrew asked “Should the left arm itself?” and it immediately made me think of Karl’s work on InRangeTV, discussing marginalized communities and the intersection with gun rights, and he’s a very interesting man with a lot to say. I would love to hear a conversation between them. Just putting this out there (Andrew’s contact page seems to be broken)
I distinctly remember a clip of a video where Andrew interviews a group of male teens that are the set up crew for some event. He asks them to frestyle and one kid says "I am a menace, eat his booty out..." and then stops and they all laugh at him. I cant find the episode or clip anywhere. Does anyone remember the video name or the clip?
Any one else not seeing any videos on the channel? What's going on?
Just (re-)watching 'San Francisco Streets' from 2 years ago, and at about 11-11:30, there is a shot which I'm 99% sure is Vancouver British Columbia, not San Francisco. But nothing about the context of the video would suggest that the footage was not San Francisco itself.
Wondering if anyone else has noticed anything like this.
Now I'm watching the video on Baltimore and questioning whether all the b-roll I'm seeing is actually from there, but I'm not familiar with the East Coast.
