Anyone else finding Skullpanda pieces outside of official drops?

I’ve been collecting Skullpanda for a bit now, mostly sticking to official drops, but lately I’ve also been exploring secondhand options. I’ve seen some interesting listings through trades, resellers, and even a few live auctions on whatnot.

What surprised me is how often older series, opened boxes, or dupes pop up when people are downsizing collections. It feels more relaxed than fighting drop times, and sometimes you get to hear why someone is letting a piece go.

Not trying to buy or sell here, just curious. Are most of you sticking strictly to drops, or are you also picking up Skullpanda through secondhand or live platforms?

Chaotic fanart - Finally back to the dromes!

In 2020 I created this fanart after hearing rumors that Chaotic would return. My idea was to post it in the coming months along with more concrete news to celebrate the event. Six years have passed, but my happiness remains knowing that Chaotic is finally coming back!

Chaotic online release

I’m wondering, after the online game releases, will it be possible to access TCG cards without buying them physically? Because I live in Morocco (North Africa), what do you think guys?

Please, my fellow fans…

Let us remember part of what made Chaotic special. In every online interaction I had in matches and on message boards way back then I never had a bad experience. No toxic players, no gaslighting jerks, no trolls, none of the above average douchebaggery we have all gotten so used to across our social media platforms and online gaming communities. Please, remember to try to be patient and kind towards your fellow players when things are up and running again. You don’t know if the person you’re playing against and talking with is an adult, a kid, a good person just trying to relax, or a guy whose gotten so used to being treated like dirt online that he’s forgotten what basic human respect feels like.

Let us all do our best to make Chaotic a place where everyone treats others with respectful gamesmanship and dignity.

Some FAQs about the relaunch.

Hey everyone, like all of you im super excited that the series is coming back this year! I have been seeing people posting about their worries and I had some too but I researched a bit to try and get answers to address some of the worries and complaints people have. So let's get to it. Also disclaimer none of this is official untill we actually hear Bryan or anyone else involved adress them. But its an educated guess based on information over the years and how TCGs generally work.

1. Will my old cards work on the Pysical game and online?

This is the biggest question we have. Over the years, Bryan Gannon the creator of the series has said he wants to make that happen. He doesn't want it to be a full reboot, but a relaunch. Because of that, yes I do think they will but there are issues with that which we will get to next.

2. If the old cards will be usable how does that affect the game, won't it be off balanced?

It could make the game unbalanced. However most likely they will just have different formats. Probably a main format where the original older cards can't be used. A legacy format where its only the older cards. And maybe a mixed format with both being used. This is what most TCG games do anyway so it wouldn't be strange for them to do this to keep it fair and balanced while honoring the original cards and codes.

3. Will these different formats be available on launch? We honestly dont know yet. But I hope so

4. The press release says there are new mechanics and we heard they will reprint cards. So it sounds like a new game instead of a relaunch right?

From everything that Bryan has said over the years and the press release, it seems to indicate a propper relaunch. Yes older cards will be reprinted with better printing techniques and maybe sharper art, but these reprints will most likely be balanced for the new mechanics. Again most TCGs do this when reprinting an old card in a new set thats different with the mechanics.

5. What happens to my old account? I have the log in information saved/same email.

I too tried to log in with my old account. But it seems the accounts would have all been deleted with the relaunch, meaning we all have to make brand new accounts from scratch. So our old ranks, decks, cards, chats and all history is gone. But let's see how they adress this. Maybe there will be a way to get your old stuff back digitally. But I doubt it.

6. What happens to my old digital codes? I added them to my account in the past but if the accounts are gone do I lose my digital copies?

So this is the most upsetting part. It seems like this would be the case, your entire original digital account is gone u less they find a way to give you acess to your old history, but again i doubt that. But thats ok! There will probably be a solution to this which we will get to next! Your old codes will probably still be usable.

7. Will the scanning function work only for physical cards? Or can it scan images of things from the show or online images too?

Going from the last question, from what Bryan had been saying of honoring old codes, we can assume that the scanning function will work with our old cards! Your account will be gone and a new one will be made, but most likely Bryan will toggle all used codes to be unused so you can add them back into the game! He does have the list of every code that was used and unused so thats helpful for giving you access to everything you have! As for scanning other things. The press release seems to indicate just the cards though not images or things from the internet or show. Unless there is a promo card digitally or they use a code from the show to give us that card. The scan is looking most likely for the code rather than the picture of the creature, Battlestar and so on.

8. Will there be a digital only option for the cards or will it all be pysical?

While I love chaotic and have about 200 cards....I personally dont want to be buying pysical cards because they will occupy so much storage space with bulk cards. I'd rather buy them digitally and if its a card i get thats really good, I'd then try to buy it loose or a proxy. But thats just me. But from the press release, they seem to indicate a lot of "no getting parents debit cards" and online purchases. So it probably won't have digital sales just pysical.

9. What is the Progressive Web App (PWA) exactly and how is it different from a normal app?

I only heard about this now too! Basically a PWA is a web page thats saved to your phone like an app icon. When you click it, it opens the chaoticgame website and should have it behave like an app but is straight from the website. So its a fancy shortcut to the website that would use your phones specifications to make the site look like an app rather than a web browser with the URL. At least the looking like an app rather than having the URL BAR at the top part is how I understand it. If im wrong please let me know.

10. Are they going to reprint all previous sets for launch? Or will they at all later?

This we dont know. It isn't really clear from the press release other than it seems some cards might be reprint with the new mechanics and balancing. So I doubt full sets will be but probably some cards will be.

11. Is season 1 of the show being AI generated or enhanced? What's actually going on?

Its not AI generated to have more to see on the sides. They explained pretty clearly that they are using AI to enhance the visual quality from 720p to 1080p. Its basically just sharpening the image is all. So no AI generation, just sharpening which can also be done on editing softwares but takes longer.

12. Will they start with the fire and stone sets?

At this moment we dont know. We hope so!

13. What exactly does Bryan ganon have of the past sets?

He was able to get everything. All art, code list thats been used and unused, and more. He owns everything now and this is perfect because it helps it really be a full relaunch.

14. Is Panini the right company for helping the relaunch?

They are a company i just heard of as well. But it seems they are massive and very popular in many parts of the world so im sure its in good hands. With them working with Bryan.

15. Will there be a season 4 of the show?

We dont know but we can hope there is. Based on some information online it seems there was talks for the tv show revival, new video games, and a movie. But again all this is rumors. But hopefully they will!

The Chaotic Game We've Been Dreaming About (And How It Could Actually Work)

Hey r/Chaotic,

I'm not a game developer. I'm not in the industry. I'm just a lifelong fan who grew up watching the show and wishing I could *actually* live in Perim the way Tom, Sarah, Kaz, and Peyton did.

Since the Chaotic TCG relaunch announcement, I've been thinking: **What if we could make that real? What if the game experience matched the show's core fantasy?**

I've been working through an idea, and I want to share it with you guys because you deserve a game that honors what made Chaotic special.

---

## The Core Problem

Chaotic always had a unique identity: a bridge between reality and another world. Tom, Sarah, Kaz, and Peyton played in the real world AND in Perim. The show was about *both*.

But most TCG games today are either:

- Pure card games (flat, digital, no immersion)

- Or separate 3D games (disconnected from the physical cards)

**What if we did both together?**

---

## The Idea: "Scan-to-Boost"

Here's the loop:

**1. You buy a physical booster pack at a shop.** (This keeps the TCG economy healthy and collectors happy.)

**2. You scan the code and play the base TCG mode.** Your creatures have baseline stats. You can play with friends online or in person using standard rules. Pure nostalgia.

**3. You want more? Boot up the 3D client.** Travel to Perim. Find the creature's location based on lore (Maxxor in the OverWorld capital, Chaor in the UnderWorld, etc.).

**4. You hunt, sneak, and scan the creature in the 3D world.** You unlock max stats, alternative abilities, and the high-fidelity 3D version for dynamic drone battles.

**Result:** Skill and exploration are rewarded. The TCG economy stays intact. And you get that feeling from the show—*living in both worlds.*

---

## Why This Protects What We Love

✅ **Collectors stay happy:** Physical cards keep their value. The 3D game is optional.

✅ **Casual players aren't locked out:** You can play pure TCG with base stats and compete.

✅ **Hardcore fans get rewarded:** If you spend time exploring Perim, you earn competitive advantage through skill, not just spending money.

✅ **No "pay-to-win" anxiety:** You buy packs to get creatures. You earn their power through exploration.

✅ **The show's magic comes alive:** You're living like Tom, Sarah, Kaz, and Peyton—real world + Perim, not one or the other.

---

## What This Looks Like in Practice

**Day 1:** You buy a starter deck from GameStop. Play with your friend on the kitchen table using standard rules.

**Day 2:** You scan the code. Your creature (say, Maxxor) now exists in the game at base stats. You can play him online in standard matchmaking.

**Day 3:** You're curious. You boot up the 3D client. The Chaotic Hub appears—a social space where players hang out. You equip your Scanner and teleport to the OverWorld.

**Day 4:** You're sneaking through Kiru City, following clues about where Maxxor is. You encounter guards. You find him on a battlefield. You scan him. His stats upgrade. You unlock his 3D model for drone battles.

**Day 5:** You challenge a friend in a full 3D drone match. It's cinematic. It's *Chaotic*, the show, brought to life.

---

## The Hard Parts (And How We Could Solve Them)

**I know this isn't simple.** There are real challenges:

- **Stat balancing:** Separate matchmaking queues for pure TCG vs. 3D upgrades keeps competition fair.

- **World building:** Start small (launch with just the OverWorld and one other territory). Expand as the physical TCG sets grow.

- **Development time:** Modular releases synced with card set drops mean the game grows naturally, not all at once.

- **Physical resale:** Tie progression to the physical card's serial number so when you resell it, the buyer gets the upgraded version. Resale value is protected.

These are solvable. It would take years and serious funding, but it's doable.

---

## Why Now?

Panini just announced the TCG relaunch. The community proved it still cares. If the physical game succeeds in the next year, there's a window where a publisher or game studio might see this vision and say:

*"This could be massive. Let's build it."*

But they'll only do that if the community wants it. If fans can articulate what they actually need.

---

## What I'm Really Asking

I'm not claiming I have all the answers. I'm not trying to be the "guy who saved Chaotic."

**I just want to know:** Does this resonate with you? Is this the game you've been wanting? What am I missing? What would break this idea?

Let me know in the comments. Be honest. Tear it apart if it's flawed. Build on it if it sparks something.

Because the only way this becomes real is if the community believes in it enough to keep pushing for it.

**TL;DR:** Buy physical cards → scan to play base TCG → explore Perim in 3D to unlock max stats and drone battles. It bridges the gap between the show's fantasy and modern gaming. Living like Tom, Sarah, Kaz, and Peyton played. It could work. Should we make it.

All hail her most glory majesty!

Took ages but finally got her! Now to build up the rest of her army before the reservoir is too far gone!

I realize that a lot of posts are about the news (hallelujah!) but seeing as how my old account info didn’t open up (was hoping my old online collection was still there but figured that it was all digital dust on the wind my now) but until October gets here I’ll be keeping busy with Rewind and PoP until they give us more to sink our teeth into.

New Features Mentioned In Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

As someone who just graduated law school, I decided to read the boring stuff most people ignore like the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service (ToS). Note I am not an attorney and none of this is legal advice, I just wrote it to let people know I have a high tolerance for reading boring things. All of this is pure speculation on what features could be in the game.

Here is what stuck out:

  1. China - The Privacy Policy has several mentions of China with connecting to services like WeChat. There is even a special provision for Chinese players about how their local laws govern, whereas for the rest of us our disputes are goverened by California law.

Chaotic was not originally in China last time, but here it looks like they intend to make it a main market. Makes sense as China has such a large consumer base and huge sway in the gaming industry. If the game blows up there it could mean huge revenue that could almost subsidize the rest of us.

  1. Auction House - There are several mentions of an auction system. No idea what it will look like, but probably it will function off some digital currency called "Chaotic Coins" in the ToS.

  2. Unity Game Engine - This doesn't mean much to me, but for any developers who are curious this is what it will run on.

  3. Ownership - you will not own the digital cards, you license to use them. However you will own the physical card. If you scan the physical card in and then trade it away, you lose the digital right but keep the physical one.

Digital items also have no real world cash value.

  1. Message Boards - One line mentions message boards, which surprises me because it's pretty old school. Whether this is boilerplate language or they will have a message board feature for players to talk is unknown.

I hope the old cards can be use in the new game.

I hope they make a mode where you can use the old ones. I got way too much card. I got the urge to find a use to it...

I got a 53 double-sided portfolio full of cards that I found last year in my old room.

If they can't be used, I will try to find a buyer on eBay. I imagine.

Reverse Compatibility

I think Gannon would be insane to not pursue this revival with reverse compatibility for the original sets in mind suddenly, as he has stated several times it was his goal to do so.

It almost seems like people just want the old cards to be forgotten not because of power creep, but because they didn't hold onto any of their old collection.

I don't see why many are so keen to "Hard Reboot" the game (whatever that is supposed to mean) to prevent old cards from even being played, as opposed to just embracing alternate formats. No one is expecting old codes to be available.

Simply disallowing older sets in competitive play/locals/tournaments until they are readily available through reprint while making sure the game is still compatible with legacy cards for casual play seems like the best of both worlds for everyone.
