Car is at 29,500 miles, the sticker says next oil change at 30,000 miles, it's a a small thing but i mainly ask because does it go off oil quality or milage? This is my first car lol

Hello all, I recently bought some refrigerant for my 2014 sonic and as I was emptying the refrigerant can into the system it was making the ac run cool air in the cabin, but immediately after I stopped I heard a constant loud hiss that could be heard outside and inside the car.

Eventually it stopped but as this was happening and afterwards the ac wasn’t working like it was as I was filling it. I’m wondering if this sounds like an issue that would be resolvable on my own and what I would need to do so, or if it’s something I should have a mechanic do. Thanks!

This is what happens when the car is in park (or stopped at a stoplight or something). It’s 100 degrees Fahrenheit outside, AC is on. Idk if you can hear on the video, but you can like hear the engine (?) revving/shuddering or something pumping/cycling (?).

I’ve dealt with the typical Chevy sonic overheating thing lol.. sigh. At worst, it stalls after this sort of thing. Stalling hasn’t happened in a while though, since I did a couple tweaks.

I did the PCV fix kit, changed spark plugs and coils, and fixed a coolant leak.

I have a 2014 Chevrolet Sonic LT Hatchback and I need help. I believe I need my TCM replaced. Is there anyone in DFW Tx that can help?

Every time I turn my ac on, air only comes from the vents on the bottom/feet and not from the front/face. Even when I change the knob to front vents only, it only comes on the bottom. Checked the AC psi and is filled. Fan is also working. Only problem is where air is coming from.

Has anyone come across that?

So oil cooler has been swapped for a new one but it's still running hot is it because it's hotter than 2 fucks outside right now or could it be something else in the beginning I thought it was the water pump but it keeps filling up the reservoir so I don't think it's it but don't know for sure also think were the oil cooler was leaking oil in the coolant there was little oil clots floating around could the thermostat itself be clogged up I've about had it with this car SMH

Has stalled 3 times in the past two months, while driving out in hot weather, AC Blasting, up and down hills, but not consistently. I've had to put it in park, turn car off, turn it back on again, runs fine. No check engine light or codes, so frustrating.

Nearby mechanic says they can't do anything unless they can reproduce the problem, and they've tried a couple of times right after the first time it stalled. Chevy service department wants to charge $200 bucks for diagnostics--but can they really do anything?

I combed through repair records, and the spark plugs need to be replaced and it's overdue for a transmission flush. Engine air filter could probably use being replaced. Have changed the oil on time religiously since I bought the car used.

I have a 2016 chevy sonic lt 1.4T. It drives and runs great but, I have done some research and ive found out that the valve cover is basically plastic and so it destroyes the pcv valve or something?I can't remember 100% but thats about the only one I do know. Anyways my question is I do know the cooling system has some issues because of cheap parts. Which parts should be replaced with better quality made parts? Do I wait until the break to replace them? Or do I do it ASAP? Any help us appreciated, I am a first tike sonic owner.

I have a 2014 Chevy Sonic LTZ hatchback, 1.4L. The car started to idle very rough when the car was on while parked and also while at a stop sign / stop light. Replaced spark plugs, the ignition coil pack was fine. For about two days it ran fine! Now it’s rough idling again. No codes, and no check engine light. I’m stressed and have very little money to take it to get fixed by a mechanic. I don’t even have 90,000 miles on this car and would like to try to fix it if I can! Any help or advice is appreciated. 😅

I had my blow motor and AC compressor shit the bed at the same time. Garage quoted me 250 for blow motor and 900~ for AC compressor (parts and labor included). Is this a rip off price? Should I look elsewhere? Is it easy enough to do for a rookie?

Is is a decent car for this price that’ll give me 1-2 years or nah I’m currently driving a 06 Chevy cobalt

Hello everyone, for the last year I have gotten very familiar with the Chevy Sonic and am practically an expert in repairing issues that pop up from cooling issues, tcm issues, electrical gremlins, and many more unusual problems that might pop up. I have acdelco tech line connect subscriptions and can reprogram almost every module in cars, help find replacement modules, perform software updates and transmission relearn. I've worked on about 14 of these cars and if anyone is in the central valley in California I can help them if they need anything with their vehicle fixed. I really enjoy working on GM vehicles in the mid to late 2010s. I'm glad to answer questions and to help anyone out if they need it.
