2023 Chevy traverse RS 27,000mi

Hey guys, I have a 2023 Chevy Traverse RS with 27,000 miles that’s still under the factory Chevy warranty. I’ve been hearing a clicking noise when shifting from Drive to Reverse and then back to Drive. I also hear it sometimes during downshifts as I’m coming to a stop sign.

I’ve taken it to the Chevy dealer three times. They’ve replaced several parts, including the valve body, and even repaired a cracked exhaust pipe, but the clicking noise is still there.

Has anyone experienced this before? Is this considered normal, or should I keep pushing the dealer to diagnose it?

Telematics update finally..25 RS

Just wanted to report that I finally received the telematics update this morning. Install went as usual. I installed it as I was parking the vehicle at my job site. On the way home I tested the data connection by running Sirius XM extra channels that depend on data. There were a few pauses in loading audio but for the most part it worked much better. According to GM inside news the updates could be layered and more to come..

2025 Z71 - Surround Vision Recorderm

I have a 2025 Z71 model with the four cameras mounted around the vehicle. Just curious if anyone else got the surround vision recorder app on their dash yet? From what I understand, you have to insert a 64 GB exfat formatted USB C into the dash and you can then have it record whenever the vehicle is driving and it will also record if it detects an impact or if the alarm goes off. I tried this with mine today but I don't see the recorder app on the dash. I also tried using Gemini to activate. I told it to open the "video recorder" and it took me to the camera app but I don't see a record option. I am running the latest software. See the tiktok video in a comment I made below.

Edit: after more research, I found that you could scan the QR code that is on the driver's door jamb and it will give you your RPO code build sheet. According to Gemini, there's a specific code needed for the surround vision? First I'm hearing of this

Here is the exact breakdown of your factory build directly from your decoded VIN and RPO data string: Scanning your list line by line, here are the camera and video codes present on your build:

  • UV2: This code stands for the Surround Vision Camera system (giving you the standard bird's-eye live view, hitch view, and parking assists on your 17.7-inch screen). However, looking at your list, the hardware code UCV (Connected Cameras Capable) is entirely missing from your factory build.

What This Means For You

Because the UCV module is absent from your physical build sheet, your vehicle does not have the internal wiring harness, video encoding hardware, or physical processing loop required to bridge the HD camera signals down into the center console USB-C port for continuous recording. This is the definitive answer as to why your exFAT-formatted drive couldn't trigger the recording interface. Without the UCV pipeline built into the assembly line, the shared software core remains locked out from saving data. For video security or a true continuous dashcam loop in your Z71, you will need to utilize a traditional standalone aftermarket dashcam setup.

Thoughts on dealership giving loaner vehicle for trans replacement they did wrong.

Our 2019 traverse had transmission replacement back in March covered under warranty at the dealership. We only have one car at the moment as the other one is in another state.

Before the replacement we asked the dealership (who we’ve had service our traverse for the last 6 years and have built a relationship with) to let us know of anything else they find wrong with the car so we can have it fixed. We were told an estimated one week for the replacement.

Dropped our car off, got a rental. 5 days later we call for an update on our car and if they found anything else( very hard to get ahold of the service manager via phone call or e mail) was told he’d call us back and never did. Finally got ahold of him day later and was told they had everything out and still needed to put tranny in. 6 days and still nothing put back in. This was on a Thursday we were told this.

Called Tuesday to get update and was told they found an oil leak and that it would be approved for the part to replace by our warranty. (They should have known about the oil leak day 5 when they said they had everything out) we gave them the green light to replace that part. Called that Friday for an update and they said it was still getting approved by warranty company. So our car sat there 3 days with nothing happening. Interestingly enough it only took less that 24 hours for our tranny to get approved. This part was taking a week.

Finally the following tuesday after trying all day to get ahold of service manager we were told it was approved and they’d get started on it that day. We’re still in a rental at this point that we’re paying for. Asked them for a loaner bc now at around 16 days this was getting expensive and the transmission and all other components weren’t even close to being put in yet.
We ended up getting the loaner and they had our car another 10 days or so.

All said and done they had our car for 4 weeks. We got our car back after having to call them asking if it was done they said yes it was ready yesterday (no one called to tell us?? ) Immediately turning the car on as soon as rpms dropped we noticed a pretty good shake now in seats, under floor board and steering wheel. So bad where you can see everything moving inside the car while it’s running.

My husband was over it, and just wanted the car back and wanted to see if itd somehow eventually stop. It never did. We now have shaking in park, when you press and release of the gas gently in shakes in the front, constant slipping and shaking on the back, serious wobble when going over 50 mph, feels like you’re driving over rumble strips. Our car is 100% worse than we we brought it in for the replacement.

A few days after having it back I noticed rattling while driving sounded like it was coming from the wheel well and when I close my drivers side door. Husband found loose bolts somewhere under the hood.

He decided to check underneath the car to see what kind of mess they may have done and found a ton of loose bolts etc that weren’t tightened all the way.

They also had some tool that looks like
It may have had teeth that they somehow banged the corner of my driver side door that ate all
The way down to the metal of the paint.

Reached out to the service manager to let him know this a week later and told him if it doesn’t work itself out we’d have to bring it back in, but just wanted him to be aware that this is what we’re now noticing.

Husband finally called to take it back in and have them re evaluate everything 2-3 weeks later. Asked for a loaner and was told they’d let us know when they have a loaner and we can bring it back in.

It has now been close to 2 months since we reached out to the dealership about bringing it back in and the service manger letting my husband know when he reaches back out once a week that they have no loaner and are “working on it”. We know that’s complete bull.

Our car is slowly getting worse in this time.
Should chevy be providing us with a loaner or are we asking a lot? At this point we will just eat the rental cost again (which we don’t want to have to do) as who knows how long they’ll have our flippin car. Or, like I’m telling my husband take it to another dealership.

At this point I’m Now pissed.

2019 Traverse

Just traded the wife’s car in for this! 87k miles. No rust underneath. Drives as smooth as can be. Love it so far. It will be making a 9 hour trip to Minnesota here in a couple months. The dual sun roofs are cool. Black accessories stand out nice. No spare tire is kinda odd, but hoping to find a solution for that soon before we leave.

Considering a Lease

Hello everyone! I’m considering a lease for a 2026 Traverse. I’m doing my research before I decide and want to know what people are thinking. I’m looking into a RS AWD model. What does everyone think?
Thank you!

New owner

We just traded our 2016 Yukon for a 26 traverse! I was worried about going down in size but we feel like the traverse will better suite us.

What do new traverses look like inside nowadays (tech question)

I'm scared to ask honestly. Been rolling in a 2014 one for awhile now & love it.

Do I need to add wifi to a new traverse? Can I skip that option? Can I still access the FM radio? Are there knobs in the 2026/27 models?

I know there's no CD option but a friend of mine said you can add a dangling portable CD player somewhere, so I guess I'm good.

I'm looking for a new traverse, not a smart traverse.

Is this possible?

If it’s not broke don’t fix? Transmission fluid change/flush

Hi I have a 2014 1LT and I do not remember the last time it has had a transmission fluid change/flush. My concern is because I checked its history and from 2020-2023 I put 70k miles in those 3 years alone. Every other year was average normal daily driving yearly miles but DAMN i doubled my mileages from 2020 in 3 years so obviously wear and tear you know. I share this car with some other family and they also handle maintenance but none of us remember who did what at the time. (70k->140k)
Mileage reports 2020-2026:
01/20:69.8k
03/20:76k
04/21:92k
07/21:97k
01/23:140k
01/24:160k
08/24:166k
06/26:177k

So what I’m trying to say is
Should I get a transmission fluid CHANGE(not flush) and do only 3-4 Quarts? And keep my original oil that falls out? Maybe add shutter I heard about that?

Or should I just leave it how it is and drive till the wheels fall off? Because now it’s at 178k miles. Read posts of people hitting 200k and never changing it.

Proud new owner

Hello everyone! At least new to me and the newest vehicle I have ever bought. Last Saturday I picked up my 2023 Chevy Traverse RS at the dealer. While it may not be all fancied up yet, it is a blast to drive. Test drove a 2026 RS and while it was super fast, I just couldnt justify dropping 60k on it.

Help me decide

I really want a black Traverse. I also want a sunroof. I found a black traverse with a sunroof, but it is 2wd. They have a white traverse that is awd which also has a sunroof. The price difference between the two is about $500. Is AWD that much better? I do live in the Midwest and we get snow and ice occasionally. Is the AWD the better choice, although not the color I was hoping for? Side note- my current van is fwd and I’ve survived this long.

2019 traverse problem

I have a 2019 traverse RS with about 120k miles on it. The check engine light has been on for a few months now with the codes P0420 and P0430. We have replaced the catalytic converters and O2 sensors already. We also put mini cats on it and the non fouler spacers (I don’t know the exact name of them). Can anyone help me figure out what else to check? We did get some live data from it but I don’t know how to submit a picture of the info we got from it.

Has my Allstate insurance premium increased in 2026?

I have a 2023 Chevrolet Traverse LS. My car insurance premium was $2,000 in 2025, and it increased to $2,270 in 2026.

How much do other people usually pay for insurance on a Traverse?
