I see that this has Chromecast streaming. but is that just audio or Audio and video?
I have a Sony and have a Chromecast dongle in one of the inputs and was wondering if its worth the switch.
I cast and its just stuck that screen. If I let it sit eventually it just goes back to the homepage of the TV. Anyone know a fix?
Casting from the YouTube app to my TV via Chromecast used to be simple and great. Open the app, tap Cast, queue up videos, let other people in the room add stuff. It just worked.
Now it’s an Inception-level nightmare. You’re navigating up and down through layers of madness, finally regaining consciousness shaking and covered in sweat, only to discover the mission failed completely and you’re watching a video about the latest diaper technology instead of the survival-in-the-wilderness queue you thought you were building.
And voice control? Before Gemini I could say “Hey Google, rewind 30 seconds” or “fast forward a minute.” Now the only commands it recognizes are pause and play. We’re going backwards.
How did this happen? Did someone forget that these “improvements” are shipping to the live app?
Come on, YouTube. You can do much better.
I could use some help if anyone might be able too. I use the Google tv Chromecast running android tv 14.
So I went on vacation two weeks ago and when I returned something strange was changed. I have my system set up to turn off 20mins after inactivity. Before I went away this worked fine, never had any problems. After I returned when I'm watching a movie or YouTube video, after about a minute of the video being paused the screen turns on the ambient screensaver and after another minute the Chromecast turns off. This has never happened before, whenever I had a video paused it would just stay on the screen and dim a little bit. I can't even get up to use the bathroom anymore without the thing turning off, it only happens when watching a video also, when it's just sitting there on the menu it still takes 20mins to turn off. I can't adjust the timer for the ambient mode at all, there's no option for it in the settings and the auto shutoff option is still set to 20mins. I'm genuinely confused here, if anyone has any ideas It would be greatly appreciated. I'd love it to go back to not triggering the ambient mode at all when paused on a video.
I've gone through every setting in the device, each app, etc. googled for the past 2 days and am throwing in the towel to ask for help. Please let me know if you need any additional information.
Note: I use Kodi also and for whatever reason that's the only app it doesn't do this with, I assume it's because it has its own built in screensaver that overwrites the system one.
