Chun Li Matchups

Hello as i am climbing the ranks i started encountering skilled players that know what they are doing & started struggling against them as i find my self only guarding & i don't know when is my turn & i don't mash buttons i just don't find the gape or the right moment to punish i sometimes use Drive Reversal but that cost a lot as chun li is really drive gauge hungry.

I am new to this kind of games i am trying to lab some situations that i encounter & try to get the best solution to them but i am not efficient on that aspect, so i created this post so i can get from you all any tips & ideas to counter characters & if possible give me some training drills that can help me.

I hope this post was not long & i word it well, thank you very much.

Chun li Tensho kicks sucks

Y'all have probably seen a post similar to this before, but I'm going to ask anyways. I been practicing over 2 weeks on keyboard(I'm poor ok I'll get a leverless later) anti air reactions still suck. Searched everywhere for vids and guides no one seems to have answers. I got an anti air drill in training mode, i try to react to multiple options not just jumps, i do the socd method, I don't know what else I can do. I'm in diamond rn btw. Also no one seems to have a guide on specifically reacting to crossups with tensho. Yes I know 5mk exists

Much appreciated regardless

Why use stomp in safe jumps?

I'm not too advanced in Chun Li, but she's the only character I've played since the game came out. And from when I first learned the game (this is my first fighting game) I always used air 6HK for my safe jump set-up. And yet, almost every time I watch a good chun player I see them doing the stomp medium kick for their safe jumps. Why? What benefits does it offer over the heavy kick?

Why does my heavy kick knock Bison in the air here?

Hi, I'm new to fighting games and Chun is my first main. I have a combo I practiced where I do heavy kick into serenity stream medium kick and then OD lightning legs into SA2, but the fact bison gets knocked up here completely threw me off and every time I try to repeat this effect on the dummy it doesnt happen? Is there something else going on causing him to go up in the air I need to be aware of? Thank you for help in advance!

Plat 4 - Newbie Question

I have about 60 hours in Sf6 and slowly grasping the fundamentals, pushed my self to Plat 4 on Chun just now and I have some good combos - but my issue is mainly punish counters. I can never make them work properly, the OD punishes i handle well - usually go for a throw with a hard knockdown but in other scenarios I can never catch the player when they whiff. My only successful punish counters i get is low medium kick when they try the sweep and i block but I never have any follows up after that kick. What are some good follow ups I can do after a punish counters with low medium kick? Or Is there any other alternatives when I successfully block a sweep?

I hope i could get my thought accurately

How did Mai block my Combo?

After the Drive Impact, i hit 5HK > SS > MK > OD Spinning Bird and looking at the Frame Data I did input it perfectly but Mai was still able to block it. I practiced this combo and it always worked but maybe I missed something? Almost cost me the game.
