Anyone up for a blind date?

I’m a 32 yo straight guy, relatively new to the area. looking for friends more than anything but also maybe a potential partner eventually. It’s so hard to go places alone and meet people so I thought I’d give this a try 😆. I’m open for dinner, movie, bowling, or just a walk on the beach. Dm me if you’re interested 😃

Scientologists Puppet Ryan Cotton

Ryan Cotton, City council member, paid for by wealthy Scientologists at last nights council meeting. Bloviating about being a Christian, preaching from his city council member seat, sounded like we were at church admist the meeting, partnered with the sticker on his computer "Make Disicples". Is this guy kidding us? Supporting an organization known for human trafficking, forced labor, fraud, covering up sexual assaults... Vote Wisely in August! Sam Wilson for city council is backed by Scientologists as well.

Scientologist nonsense.

So there are plans for a much needed parking garage in downtown Clearwater to accommodate the baycare sound, going right up next to the Presbyterian church. Which is right next to the central black hole of Scientology - The Fort Harrison.

They have gone after the city to ask them to put completely opaque screening on the garage so that online can see what is happening in their outdoor pool area. Which they have no leg to stand on - all garages have to maintain a level of openness otherwise it’s much more expensive to ventilate non-organically. So the city rightfully said no.

My friend that works at the city just said they got a lawsuit from Scientology for excessive drilling and damage to their building. Because of course - they just don’t want the garage being constructed. They are doing everything they can to make this garage not happen.

I am putting this here in hopes that it may reach the right people or at least put it in the backs of peoples minds.

I feel like they have such a chokehold that will never be broken. It’s just so sad.

Scientology is going to get away with it.

Many of us gathered on Monday afternoon and waited several hours for the Clearwater City Council to review our citizen petition initiative during their work session. We hoped to hear thoughtful discussion about the thousands of Clearwater voters who signed petitions, because they want a voice in the future of downtown Clearwater and the city’s ability to vacate public streets.

When the agenda item finally came up, not a single council member spoke. All discussion was postponed until Thursday, the day of the vote.

Our team was stunned that the City Council showed so little interest in examining how the petitions were reviewed and rejected. Is the Council at all curious about the accountability process regarding the Clerk’s review of the petitions? Remember, she threw out thousands of signatures. There are many questions the Clerk needs to be asked in order to restore citizen confidence.

We plan to speak during public comment at Thursday’s meeting, and we hope you will join us.

THURSDAY, MAY 21 – Public Comment & Council Vote

🕡 6:00 PM

📍 Clearwater City Council Chambers

100 N. Osceola Ave, Clearwater

This decision carries enormous consequences for the future of downtown Clearwater. Scientology has requested the vacation of several public properties, including Garden Avenue, two additional streets, an alleyway, and a city-owned lot for a proposed entertainment complex, L. Ron Hubbard Hall, and a private plaza.

That is FIVE public properties that could potentially be transferred without voter approval.

Will the City Council allow the people of Clearwater to have a voice in the future of our downtown public streets and rights-of-way?

Thank you for standing strong with us. We hope to see you on Thursday.

The AC Hotel - Steer Clear for the Price

Recently stayed around 5 nights at the AC Clearwater, and to say I was disappointed by the amenities is an understatement. For a place that charges around $200+ a night it was filthy from the second we got there, the first thing I noticed was actual jizz on the curtains to the balcony. After settling in for the night we tried to get Netflix on the TV as it was advertised on their website, lo and behold, they do not have Netflix despite advertising it as a perk for staying at their hotel. No one is at the front desk, like ever. Whether its 6 in the afternoon or noon, you have to get lucky to find staff. You are better off periodically calling the front desk from your room to see if anyone is there. Laundry service ONLY operates on weekdays and is paid. The first TIER of the breakfast buffet is $20 per person not including gratuity, parking is $40 a night. The rooftop and poolside lounge are closed unless staffed (the doors will be locked as well incase you wanted fresh air). The poolside bar isnt open any later than 6, and the rooftop bar is almost always going to be closed due to weather. Only two full sized water bottles will be in you room despite the length of your stay, and to get any more water during your stay, you must contact room service for two more 8 fl oz water bottles, which will magically spawn in your room after you leave to get gatorade or something.

The only saving grace about this place was the bartenders, who were nothing short of amazing. Everything else about this place sucked pretty bad, save your money, dont stay at the AC.

Rehoming Help

I’m heartbroken to ask, but I need help rehoming my cat, Ziggy.

Ziggy is 6 years olds, healthy, and happy. This decision is purely due to my own lapse in housing and I would like to see her safe in a loving home rather than surrender to a shelter if possible. It’s worth mentioning she’s the typical type of cat that can take a while to warm up to someone new. But if they can be patient and allow her to come to them then she’ll become the biggest snuggle bug. She also is very independent and likes her own space, so while she does well with other animals that can respect these boundaries I don’t recommend a home with young kids. Ziggy has only ever been indoors, and wouldn’t do well as an outdoor cat. Her favorite spots are typically window perches to sunbathe and watch the squirrels run around outside.

I’m not looking to charge anything for her, but I’d love to give away her furniture and toys to her new owner as well. She is due for all vaccines and, due to my current financial troubles, I’m simply unable to cover them before her rehoming. But, she is spayed and has been kept up to date a flea/tick treatment monthly. I’m happy to answer all additional questions anyone has. I’m looking for Ziggy to be in her new home within the next 3-4 weeks. Pictures have been included, too.

Would you suggest Sand Key or Clearwater beach?

Have guests from out of town and trying to decide where to bring the kids. They’re like 12 and i’m guessing will want access to a bathroom too. Does Sand Key have an easy bathroom to access? What about beach chairs (I know at Clearwater there is businesses who set up chairs for you). I don’t have any chairs to give.

Looking for an apartment from 8/1-8/15

Hi! Please take this down if it isn't allowed. I have been looking for a 2 person apartment on Airbnb for quite sometime near Clearwater beach. So far I haven't had luck finding any apartments. Is there is anyone trying to rent out or listing their apartment during this time? My budget is $1200 and I would need a full kitchen with walking distance to the beach. Thank you guys so much. I truly appreciate you!

[MISSING] Captin Trevor John Bilodeau.

Trevor John Bilodeau (known locally as Captain Trevor) has been missing from Clearwater, Florida since January 23, 2025. Despite being registered in federal missing persons databases, his case currently has zero mainstream media coverage.

Because his disappearance has completely slipped under the radar of local news desks, I am going to do my best to provide as much details as possible, while being respectful of those surrounding Trevor. That being said, the information provided is a combination of verified information (NamUs) and crowd sourcing. I believe this will be the first publicly accessible inspection of his case. Hopefully, Google's search engines will pick up flag words for anyone looking for this individual.

User Statement:

This post features a combination of verified information from NamUs, HOWEVER, due to the absolute desert of information provided from verified sources, a lot of this information is crowd sourced. This means it comes from Reviews, Newspaper clippings or articles, Instagrams, facebooks, white pages, and so on. I will do my best to make my sources clear so they may be appropriately peer reviewed.

Physical Description & Visual Identifiers

Age at Disappearance: 44 years old (Born August 21, 1980 / Current Age: 45 years old. (Namus, 2026)

Height & Weight: 5'8" to 5'11" tall / Medium build, 160–180 lbs. (NamUs, 2026)

Hair & Facial Hair: Bald or very closely shaved brown head / Prominent, distinctly graying goatee. (NamUs, 2026).

Signature Look: He spent his days out on the water and was rarely seen without a gray/blue "PFG" (Performance Fishing Gear) hat or a grey "The North Face" baseball cap, a thin black cord necklace, and clear-framed sunglasses with bright blue mirrored lenses. (Facebook, Reviews, Instagram, 2021-2024).

Trevor relocated to Pinellas county Florida in 2021, moving from the New England area. This date is provided by his Flordia voters registration. Trevor has life long connections to New England, graduating from the University of New Hampshire in May of 2010 (The Keen Sentinel, May 30, 2010). He attended Keen Highschool in Keen, New Hampshire, he was a part of the class of 99'.

In New Hampshire, Trevor Bilodeau was an active member of his community. Sometime around 2017(Unsure when this business started) he was the owner of "Wagging Tails" dog walking and pet sitting, a commercial service operating heavily across the Concord and Pembroke areas up until his relocation. He was well-known in regional animal welfare circles, including local animal shelter events. A photo in 2017 shows him and his son at the Manchester Animal Shelter's 2017 Mutt Strutt Event. I wasn't able to find a trustworthy source for this information but one source stated he was a local bartender in Concord as well.

Public Registries connect him to a few local neighborhoods;

-North Swanzey, NH: Wilson Pond Rd

-Pembroke, NH: 6th Range Rd / Cross Rd

-Nashua, NH: Newcastle Dr

-Leominster & Salem, MA: Princeton St / Heritage Dr

It's important to note that New Hampshire was not the only other state listed in his address history. I was able to find facebook comments where he discussed Vermont as well. He may also have stayed in Massachusetts and other surrounding states.

After Trevor's relocation to Florida in February of 2021, he resided at an apartment complex along US highway 19.

In November of 2022, he registered his business SEA PARADISE CHARTERS LLC.

In 2023, Trevor marries an individual who I will not name, as I'm not sure it's ethical to do so. I will note that the name isn't hard to find, but any information regarding this person is.

During Trevor's time in Florida he would work in several "Tour Boat Operations" as his alias "Captain Trevor.". Trevor holds a Master United States Coast Guard (USCG) License. Under his LLC, he ran commercial dolphin sightings, sandbar swims, and sunset cruises. He operated a large, distinct white-and-teal tour catamaran directly out of the Clearwater Beach Municipal Marina.

He worked for two other Tour Boat Operations which are still up and running: Fins Up Clearwater and Cruisin Tikis Clearwater.

It's important to note, that his LLC Sea Paradise Charters LLCs website and informational services have been dissolved. The remains of his business are bits and pieces spread out over Instagram and Facebook.

Trevor worked at Fins Up Clearwater presumably until his disappearance.

Details about the circumstances of his disappearance are unknown. However, Trevor did join a Facebook group around December 9th, 2024 called "St. Petersburg Roommates: Rooms for Rent & Roommate Finder". Digging through the Facebook group, there is no useful information, it's mostly filled with Bots and AI.

Months after his disappearance, a formal missing persons report was filed with Flordia Law Enforcement in August of 2025.

In September of 2025, his business was dissolved for failing to report in 2025. His last report was made in May of 2024.

In October of 2025, his Wife filed to dissolve their marriage. The source for this is verifiable as it comes from official newspaper archives. It appears because the state could not locate him, they posted publicly in the newspaper.

Trevor John Bilodeau also loved saltwater fishing. His Instagram profile features many, many photos of him on the water, and posing with fish. I was able to find an informational booklet where it seems he joined some sort of leaderboard or club for salt water fishing.

Trevor seemed to bring a strong and electric vibe to every event he worked. His Facebook page, Instagram accounts feature many photos of him with people he would sail with or take on his many dolphin tours. When looking through the reviews at his place of employment he has countless 5 star reviews, where folks compliment his energy and even pose with him for pictures.

Due to Trevor's highly public lifestyle, I find it astonishing how little information is out about his story.

Thanks to all the people who have taken pictures with Trevor, I was able to compile several much high quality photos of Him. Including the most recent photo I was able to find, taken around September of 2024. I do not know if it was actually September however, since Google reviews do not provide actual dates. I was able to estimate it however based on the context of the reviews surrounding the original review. Mentions of Hurricane Helen came up, which as a survivor of the storm myself, I remember that it specifically struck in September.

Trevor also has a phone number connected (Somehow, I couldn't really decipher how) to his name on sites like Truthfinder and Whitepages that are featured on old rave flyers. I was able to find this out thanks to the folks on a Facebook group where they preserve old flyers.

Something that stands out to me is, the most recent photo of him. He appears to have put on weight suddenly. This could indicate stress.

Scuba diving lessons

I scuba certified about 35 years ago for a trip to Cayman Islands. I lived in Utah at the time and never really dove again. It's been so long I was thinking of recertifying now that I live in Clearwater. Are there any schools/instructors you recommend? I know refresher courses are often available, but it's been a long time. Looking for all advice.

Largo Golden Corral Replaced by New Chick-fil-A Drive-Thru Location

The former Golden Corral site on Ulmerton Road in Largo is slated to be redeveloped into a 6,300-square-foot Chick-fil-A featuring two drive-thru lanes. Plans call for a playground, a dual-lane drive-thru system, a Mobile Thru pickup lane, and dedicated Chick-fil-A delivery services.

Chick-fil-A is basically the 7-Eleven of fast food—there’s one on every corner. Because we definitely needed another Chick-fil-A 🙃

Sober in Dunedin

My wife and I are planning our trip down to Clearwater Beach next week. I am hearing a lot of recommendations to visit Dunedin. It sounds like they have a great brewery scene. If we can’t drink in Dunedin is it still worth visiting?

Thank you for your response!

Day trips recs needed…get me out of here!

What other day trips can we take from Clearwater beach that you’d recommend? Any other beaches or cute areas we should check out within 45mins or less preferably. We went to brewery hop and explore Dunedin yesterday and loved it!

Any kayaking or chill beaches you’d recommend?

I didn’t quite realize what a young party town Clearwater is. 😂 Oops.

Best Florida Areas for a Quiet Girl in Her 20s?

New grad from Cornell starting a fully remote tech sales job — thinking about moving to Florida. What town/city would fit me best?

A little about me:

  • Grandma personality: I like peace, quiet, and no clubbing/nightlife scene
  • Good restaurants is a must: especially Asian + Italian food
  • Big fan of group workout classes (Pilates, yoga, fitness studios, etc.)
  • Safety is really important to me — ideally gated communities or nice apartment complexes
  • Single, would love to meet mature/stable men around late 20s–30s
  • Want somewhere with a decent social scene but not chaotic
  • Prefer cost of living that isn’t insanely high

Right now I’m considering places like Tampa, Naples, Boca? Open to suggestions from people who actually live there 👀

Glorious noon at Clearwater Beach - May 2026

Had such a relaxing time catching on some reading of my favourite book, having coconut shrimps and lobster rolls and taking in the relaxing vibe of the beach on a not so busy weekday. The waters were calm, was a little bit too hot for my liking :) but did manage to dip in the beach back and forth for some respite from the heat. Had to leave early so I missed the sunset !
