Inroom Mini Bar question

Going to a Club Med for the first time in December, headed to Miches.

Have a question about the minibar in the room.

(I understand its just water and sodas)

Do they refill it daily?

if so...

Can you request certain drinks?

Thanks in advance ! Looking forward to my trip.

Cancun with almost 3 yo— nervous about toddler club!

Heading to Cancun with an almost 3y/o later this year. I’m having some anxiety about it, which is silly, because the whole reason we booked this trip was so my husband and I could have an actual vacation!

Our toddler is not in preschool or anything, I’m a SAHM. He’s very social and I’m not worried about separation anxiety on his end, I’m going to be the more worried one!

Is the toddler club very safe? He won’t know how to swim, so I’m imaging he won’t be going to pools or to the beach in the kids club… right? I guess I’m unsure how it works when the kids are so little and there is more of a drowning risk.

If I want to come and check in on him, is that pretty easy to do, or are they out and about all day long? Can we drop him off and pick him up throughout the day, for example he just does the morning there and then we grab him for nap time, or does he need to stay all day?

Club Med Charlevoix

I’ll be staying at Club Med Charlevoix in a few weeks. How is tipping handled? I understand it’s not expected but if I tip baggage handlers, room service, bar staff, do I tip in US dollars or Canadian dollars? First time at Club Med and Canada so I want to make sure I get this right. Thanks for any insight.

Wrong room type - no help from club med - what would you do?

I discovered Club Med during Covid and fell in love with the establishment. I am a gold member and this would be my fourth Club Med in last 4 years. Needless to say that I was VERY excited about coming to South Africa.
So when the bookings opened in January, I was told that I was the first American to book this experience.
I have always been a deluxe room customer so I requested the same while booking club med Beach and Safari. I had to call to make this booking because on their website there is no way to book this.

While booking, I was told to not worry about the room nomenclature since this is is a new concept/ establishment for Club Med.
Hence when my reservation said “ superior” I called again in June to confirm.
Once again I was told that the room is comparable to Aquamarina at Cancun ( which has one master room and bathroom, one kids room, one toilet in the hallway and separate shower/ tub in the kids room)

We got here at the beach today and to say I was misled about the room size would be a very true statement.
The superior room has one bathroom with no toilet and a kids room with a hallway toilet. In addition, the room is far away on a massive hill away from everything with a lukewarm view and tiny balcony
While booking I was told that I had a room on the right side building when looking from the beach, with a big terrace close to the beach and all the other amenities ( so when the weather was bad , we didn’t have to stay out in the storm for long)

Which brings me to today - the day of our checkin - Despite bad weather, we came to the beach with such high hopes after an amazing safari experience.

When I complained and shared what has transpired, I was told that there is nothing that can be done since they are fully booked. Once again, I was told that the facility would be at 60-70% capacity for the first three months so for the room management to tell me that they are fully booked just doesn’t seem right.

I feel cheated and just wronged!!!

I spent close to $20k for a 10 day vacation to ensure that I had a big room, with wide terrace and two toilets/ showers ( since being near the beach gives me digestive distress). The vacation is to also celebrate my milestone birthday on Aug 14.

I have been such an advocate for club med and have convinced 6 other families and friends to join the “club”, but I think I will warn them instead now.

What would you do in my position ?

I am not sure if I will be returning after today. While I didn’t expect a room change right away ( I offered to pay for a upgrade btw) the lack of willingness to make up for wrong communication is not acceptable.

Would appreciate any recos in dealing with this situation

Thanks

Club Med Cancun in Dec w Toddler

Hello all,

looking for some tips and have some general questions, first time to CM Cancun.

Dec - are we safe from seaweed on the beach?

Is it windy on the balcony if we live oceanfront in the aguamarina buildings?

Can we book activities and restaurant before arriving on the app?

Are there any indoor play area for toddlers if we are NOT enrolled in the mini club? (as we don’t require daycare services)

the transport options give seems a bit expensive, is it worth it or can we just book taxi/other private transport services?

is it easy to get to some safe/touristy areas outside of resort?

can we bring our own pool floats?

mosquitos/other bugs an issue at all being oceanfront?

thank you all!

Punta Cana water park

I guess I’m a little confused and can’t find anything on their website that explains it. The first photo is the splash pad at the kids club, can we go to this at any time with our kids even if they aren’t in kids club? The second picture is the water park, it says 4+ on the website. Is it 4+ for the big slides or everything? We have a 16 year old, 5 year old and a 3 year old so it would be very inconvenient if all of our kids couldn’t use the water park.
