CODM X THE BOYS
I am writing this message to express the deep frustration felt by a significant portion of the Call of Duty: Mobile community regarding the recent The Boys collaboration and the overall trajectory of the game.
While we appreciate new content, we are profoundly disappointed with the technical execution and the current commercial focus. The community demands transparency and change regarding the following critical points:
1. Executions: Parity with PC/Console
The Boys is a franchise defined by its visceral and bold style. CODM players demand explicit, high-quality executions similar to those found in the PC and console versions. There is no technical justification for these animations to be "watered down" or inferior on our platform.
2. Stop Global Censorship
We understand that the Chinese market operates under strict local regulations; however, those restrictions should not be imposed on the Global version. If censorship is required for China, keep it there. The Global community expects and deserves an authentic, uncut experience.
3. Universal Execution System
We strongly request that executions be decoupled from specific operators. We want a universal system where:
Any execution can be equipped to any operator.
Collaboration-specific executions remain exclusive in theme, but function within the same flexible system.
4. Monetization vs. Value (The "Lucky Draw" Problem)
The community is tired of feeling like Lucky Draws are only valuable for the character skin. Activision and Tencent must realize that the cost of these draws is significant, and for the investment to be justified, the content must be exceptional.
If a Lucky Draw includes a high-quality, unique execution, the price is justifiable.
If you are only selling a character skin, the offer feels empty and overpriced. We are no longer willing to pay high prices just for a skin without functional, high-quality features.
5. Disconnect with the Community
We feel that Activision and Tencent are ignoring our feedback, acting in an increasingly tone-deaf manner. We have seen the consequences of poor decision-making in titles like Warzone, where players felt neglected and cheated out of their content. Please stop being insensitive to the community's needs; do not repeat these mistakes in CODM.
Conclusion:
We want a game that evolves, not one that stagnates while relying on aggressive monetization strategies. We urge you to listen to your player base, provide real value for our investment, and stop sacrificing the quality of the Global version due to unnecessary content restrictions.
