Dirty Loon

Tried the signature Dirty Loon at Loon Coffee in Makati, and it became an instant favorite.Priced at Php220. I would have gotten a second order but I decided to try the regular iced latte instead.

The entire space was charming and thoughtfully designed. The barista/staff who took my order was welcoming, which was a huge plus. I see myself visiting here often.

Iced coffee parin

😁 All time fave and go-to coffee will always be sea salt latte with soafer daming cold foam lol

This one’s really reaaaally good! Kahit nagwater down na, lasa parin yung coffee. Sa lahat ng sea salt latte that I’ve tried, this one’s definitely coffee-forward. Not too sweet, not too creamy (even with the cold foam add on), coffee is ipaglalaban ka 🤎

PS. Hindi po nagmumura yung brand 😂

Newfound interest for coffee

Hi! I recently discovered interest for coffee. PickUp Coffee's Iced Vietnamese Latte really caught my heart and i'm looking to explore more sa mga kape na ganito ka sarap😭

Please help your girl out. I'm not sure if this is relevant pero i'll put this here na lang din just in case. I'm a full-time student on a budget. I also like my coffee na distinct talaga yung lasa ng kape, hindi yung puro tamis or puro cream lang.

Please bear with me🥹🥹🥹 pero ayun, I think that's about it sa preferences ko.

Baka lang may ma recommend kayong cafes na nago offer ng mga ganong klase ng kape, pa suggest na rin ako anong o orderin or whatnot😭 if may particular blend or whatever kayong mabibigay, I would highly appreciate it too🥹✨️🫶

Preferably yung abot kaya din sana ng student 😭 i'd say na for now, willing ako to spend at least 250-300 pesos max for a coffee🥹 if may mas mura na hindi nawawala yung integrity nung qualities na hinahanap ko, mas okay po😭

Thank you so much po! sana may makasagot🥹🥹🥹 let me know if may details pa 'kong need na i splook para mas mapalawak ang recos🙏

[EDITED] Forgot to say pala, i'm located in Sta. Mesa, Manila po. Anywhere within U-belt or sa Manila mismo is preferred. Willing to go to Makati and Mandaluyong po if need be (heard through the grapevine na marami raw cafes doon sa area🥹). If this also matters, I also smoke cigarettes pala and occassionally vapes. So if may smokers din dito, baka may ma reco kayo na masarap mag blend yung lasa sa yosi😭😭😭 ang dami kong gusto, pasensya na😭😭😭

Coffee grinder repair technician recommendation

Hello, I am looking for a technician/electrician to repair a coffee grinder. Unit is turning on but motor is not working. I tried opening it just to tighten all the contacts and it worked for one dose but then stopped again. My guess is the connections are just loose. Anyone can point me to a technician/repair shop that's reasonably priced? I tried looking around and service costs are like 3500-4500 (more than half the cost of the grinder). Location: Taguig or Makati area

Specialty coffee recommendations?

Been into coffee for quite sometime. Now, I currently hop for specialty coffees for pourovers. I don't know much yet and kind of looking for what I like. So far, I don't like coffee that are sour(Probably light roast?) Actually may natry kasi akong coffeeshop years ago na maasim yung coffeee kaya natrauma ako dun. Now, I try yardstick minsan and other specialty coffees. Before nag amerciano lang ako sa yadstick and felt their floral. I dont remember if it was citrus rin or floral lang if may difference pa ba? I been to good cup rin nung Feb and grapefruit rin pala natry ko.

I think I kind of want to try pour overs na hindi citrus types ang coffee. Do you have recommendations na around the chocolatey taste or nutty? My second try was a Kurasu and I still end up with grapefruit taste. Baka may suggestion kayo with variety of taste?

Anyone else who uses Bodum Travel Press?

Tried brewing with it this morning and I feel like di ko na achieve ung gusto kong lasa.

I'm using a Kingrinder K6 and Finca De Garces beans (Yardstick), nag 100 Clicks ako for a coarse grindsize pero medyo tea like ung naging lasa. Maybe anyone can help me tweak the recipe I'm using.

Ang goal ko is just half a cup kaya 10g of beans lang gamit ko.

Also, does temp matter for french press??

100 clicks (Kingrinder K6)

Any suggestions???

Hibrew H10B to Breville Barista Express

Is this even worth it to consider I currently have a df64 gen 1 grinder that I posted recently hence the reason why I've bought the h10b. It pulls the shots I want but definitely the workflow is less than ideal for the cute size.

Now the challenge is I've recently come across a BBE. I might consider using the grinder for shits and giggles then retain my df64 for moka and other coffee. Or perhaps using it also to create espresso. I've also managed to have it up and running again.

Is it worth it to consider shifting my workflow to 54mm given that most of my tools right now are for 51mm or just sell the 51mm system and retain the BBE? right now I believe what I need is just a funnel and tamp that fits it to complement the setup. The rest can be reused from my 51mm workflow.

Or rather just sell the BBE and retain my 51mm setup altogether?

Coffee Plz 2026

Anyone else excited for this year’s Coffee Plz? Archers alone is sulit na to travel for. Plus Afloat and Oma.

I heard better din line-up of local roasters compared to last year’s. I hope they dont get overshadowed by the internationals. We need to support our roasters more than ever nowaday.

Just the basics.

Suki ako ng mga Barista milk such as Arla Barista, Emborg Chef's Selection, Laciate Barista.

Meron Chocolate Syrup.

Tapos ano ba mas recommended, chocolate, white chocoalate or dark chocolate? Anong brand exact ang recommended niyo? Che-check ko kung pasok naman sa banga.

Tapos meron pa kapag bumibili ako sa coffee shop, meron nilalagay sa ibabaw, i don't know kung coffee powder or cinnamon powder. Either way sa dalawa, ano kaya yung pwedeng brand na bilhin for both?

Like anong recipe na may caramel?

Gusto ko muna ma-try before ako magtimpla on my own. Pwede naman kahit anong Vanilla Ice Cream ,'di ba?

Is it a waste to buy expensive Coffee Beans just for Moka pot?

I bought a lot of beans now like Allo, Three Cups, Franken Roaster, Sibs and most of them are like below the 500 php range. I'm planning to buy either Yardstick or Goodcup Daily Driver but I feel like its a waste since im not gonna use espresso machine or pourover only Moka pot and my trusty Hand Grinder.

Hope some moka pot owners like me tried these beans.

Candid Coffee Smore's Blend

Hi everyone! Need suggestions since I recently bought Candid Coffee Beans S’mores Blend.

First time ko lang mag-order sa kanila and ang mali ko, 1kg agad kinuha ko huhu 😭 I’ve tried everything pero it still tastes so bitter unless lagyan ko ng maraming milk pero andun parin yung super bitter na hindi magandang taste. If you get what I mean GASHDHSAG

Not an expert naman, but I’ve tried it sa Gemilai machine with my Timemore C3 grinder. I also tried it sa Aeropress, pero mas bitter pa siya 😭

Ako ba yung mali? Bad batch lang ba yung nakuha ko? Huhu please help 🥹 Any tips on how to properly brew this or get better flavors from the beans would be appreciated!

Dunkin Spanish Latte

Dunkin Carmona Branch - Spanish Latte 1.5/5

I was hesitant na papalitan so nag ask muna ako sa staff if ganun ba talaga yung spanish latte (tho dahil frequent ako sa dunkin eh alam kong hindi talaga ganun).

Vietnamese Coffee 🫪🤯

Had the chance to visit one of the world's main coffee suppliers, so I really made sure to make the most out of my stay and drink every coffee I could. All of the items featured are found in either The Cafe Apartments or around Ho Chi Minh.

And with that, I present to you all of the coffees I tried and my thoughts on each:

  1. Po Cafe - Iced Egg Coffee (65k VND): Starting strong with the best one of all in my honest opinion. It's the only coffee I've tried so far with crème brûlée-like custard. Sweet, thick, and flavorful din yung custard, so I really enjoyed dipping the flaky croissant that came with it. Halos walang lansa, too! (Which I really loved). Thank you talaga sa nag-recommend. (8/10)

  2. Po Cafe - Pandan Coffee: Parang pumunta ka sa handaan tapos nag-mix yung sabaw ng coffee jelly saka buko pandan... masarap naman sya for my taste, surprisingly! (7/10)

  3. The Letter - Iced Egg Coffee (45k VND): Small serving yet strong coffee, foamy, and not as sweet. Not bad at all, you might just want to wait for the ice to melt a bit so you get to "drink" more. (6/10)

  4. Casa le Cuy Don - Tiramisu Coffee: I was supposed to order a Vietnamese coffee with avocado and coconut cream, but unfortunately it was unavailable that day, so I played it safe by getting a typical iced tiramisu coffee. The foam was nice, rich, and generally a little less sweet (which is alright with me). Nothing special in my opinion. (6/10)

  5. Hoang's Kitchen - Coconut Coffee: DAMN. Hahahaha. The name may sound simple, but this is not your average coffee + coconut milk combo. Very delicious, ice-blended din so it's even more refreshing, and I also like the sweetness coming from the coconut. Not the biggest coconut fan, but it was bussin! (8/10)

  6. Meraki Cafe - Iced Vietnamese Milk Coffee: Not too sweet, not too milky, not too strong -- just right. Quite plain for my liking. What makes this drink unique are the sliced coffee jellies in it, but the taste is still forgettable. Nice twist though. (6/10)

  7. Iced Coffee ni Manong sa gilid ng hotel namin - Cà Phê Sữa Đá (20k VND): ITO NA YON. The real deal. Nothing beats the OG. It's very simple -- condensed milk + concentrated coffee + ice. Period.

At first I thought medyo marami yung condensed, pero hindi naman pala sya jabetis-sweet. Not sure if Viet condensed milk is generally less sweet compared to ours, pero whenever I try to make this at home, it's either too strong or too sweet. But with this one, sumakto lang yung blend nung 2 ingredients.

I think what makes it special is the coffee itself. I need to learn how they make it in batches. Sobrang sarap nito pag nag-water down huhu. Out of all the coffees I tried, this is the one I bought most often. Until now, hinahanap-hanap ko pa rin :< . Winner ang presyo, winner ang lasa. (10/10)

  1. Iced coffee ulit ni Manong (with fresh milk): Our hotel came with free breakfast and I thought of adding some fresh milk just to see how it tastes. My personal favorite. Medyo hawig din sa McDonald's original iced coffee pag nag-water down, so it's still flavorful even after an hour. (10/10)

  2. Ben Thanh Market - Luwak Coffee Sampler (libre lang): Smoooooooth. Though this could be counterfeit luwak (since authentic ones are quite hard to produce), the blend is still nice. NOT ACIDIC AT ALL and has some chocolatey hints. Best mixed with milk according to the seller (probably for lattes). Such a budol find! (8.5/10)

(Bought a 250 g worth of ground beans for 500k vnd huhu)

  1. Coffee 105 - Iced Cappuccino: Average iced cappuccino served with tea on the side. (Yes -- some lightly flavored iced tea. Apparently this is a thing in Vietnam hahaha). (6/10)

  2. Coffee 105 - Hot Egg Coffee: Rich and bold. Medyo may lansa lang yung egg (or maybe that's just me). Would appreciate it more if it were a little sweeter. Also served with light iced tea btw. (7.5/10)

  3. Củ Chi Tunnels - Cà Phê Sữa Đá (40k vnd): Crawling through the hot and cramped tunnels was tiring, so I needed something to drink afterwards. Sakto, may store outside, so I tried their coffee. It's a bit darker than Manong's near the hotel, but the taste is almost just as bold, if not a little stronger by 1% lol. Amazed by the cheap OG coffee's consistency. Craving satisfied. (9/10)

  4. Good Day - Mint Coffee: Hmmm... just some Viet latte with a drop of artificial mint extract at the bottom. Didn't finish it. (5/10)

  5. McDonald's - Iced White Vietnamese Coffee: Lasang jabetis. Almost didn't taste the coffee huhu sorry. (5/10)

  6. The Box - Iced Vietnamese White Coffee: Another gem right at the corner. I actually had this first before trying the one from McDonald's. Was surprised that it's not really "white" and creamy as expected. It's like a lighter version of cà phê sữa đá without losing the flavor and quality. (9/10)

  7. Marou - Salted Coffee (85k VND): This one's more on the upscale side. Sweet, creamy... and salty hahaha. Coffee is not as strong, especially since I had it in the morning. Maybe it's better taken in the afternoon. Medyo hawig sa SB yung quality. (8/10)

  8. Farmi Point - Hot Egg Coffee: The first ever egg coffee I've tried. Generous serving, foamy, tasty coffee, almost like a cappuccino, so I got confused whether the barista got my order right. Kaso nalasahan ko yung lansa on my last few sips hahaha. (7.5/10)

  9. Almost all convenience stores around - Milo Coffee: Isipin mo Nescafe with Milo, but done right. (6/10)
