Quality Green coffee beans at less cost

Where do you guys buy green coffee beans for home roasting for low cost? It’s damn expensive even for 5lb bags at $9 per lb when I compare it to roasted 2lb coffee bags found in Costco or other retailers.

I agree that not every coffee bag in Grocery store is good but seems like lately, many Costco and other grocery chains started packing local and national roasters at good rates. Couple of my friends recently got Kirkland Single Origin Ethiopia & Peru roasts at $18 with roast date under a week and seems to have tasted great as per them.

Sweet Marias & Happy Mug was suggested by friends and they indeed have green coffee beans around $7 per lb but you end up in paying for shipping costs separately and that makes it a bit expensive for total costs than those good local or national roasts 2lb bags with recent roast date in retailers.

Looking for quality and affordable green coffee beans from 2lb to 5lb bags preferably under $9 per lb with shipping and everything included.

Green Coffee Ledger App

Curious if anyone would find this helpful. I created a webapp (eventually iOS and Android) that imports invoices from green coffee purchases, parses out origins, amounts, prices, tariffs, etc. and reports out trends, c-price comparisons, time between orders, pounds per day equivalents, etc. It even may include an agent to ask the data questions to better understand your green coffee trends and opportunities for improved efficiencies. I've been using it for my commercial roasting business and has given me tremendous insight for purchasing patterns and pricing strategies. I welcome your thoughts in advance!

First roast with blended beans

I will be doing my first roast with blended beans for espresso. I have the SR800 with factory extension. I am looking for any tips/suggestions or profiles on how I should proceed. I’d like to not attempt this first blend going in blind. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

More Razzo fun

Sent to me by a customer who is roasting with two SR800 and two Razzo V5T-12, packaging and selling local. The Razzo with true bean temperature monitoring makes consistency possible. He is working on a 60# bag of Brazil. Posted with permission.

Trivia: the first 12 inch Razzo was a custom request from a “cottage” roaster in Virginia for in 2021 her SR800. I didn’t think it was a good idea. Now 12 inch is the most popular Razzo chamber size (V5T, D12T, C12).
