have been terribly ill since sunday, but woke up with these sores yesterday morning and they’ve just progressed so much worse. took valaclyclovir oral dose as prescribed as soon as i was able to yesterday afternoon and acyclovir topical cream. orajel cold sore treatment as well. i’ve had these since i was a child but never once have gotten them with such severity or even swelling. i took advil for the pain and inflammation but damn this really hurts and makes me feel horrible :( can’t help but feel like this is a curse

Hello I get these like single dots with a white ring around my lip line and sometimes a bit lower from my actual lip but it’s the same looking circle with a white ring around it/redness around it. They either stay like this or in a day or two become single white heads. Has anyone had something like this and confirmed it was a cold sore? Thanks

Tested positive for HSV1 by blood a couple years ago. Been on the lookout since. Something was really itchy and tingly on my chin on Sunday to the point I took a picture but nothing was there other then redness (from scratching) progressed into a cluster of little white heads which I thought were pimples and squeezed but then it turned into one big blister/scab. These pictures are all over the course of 7-10 days till the scab fell off from itching again. Could it be a cold sore?

Hello, so since I was a little kid (now 26) I've had whole-lip outbreaks once every year or so, usually when I go on vacation. I just a few weeks ago dealt with a case and it healed up, sweet. But now its back just 2 weeks later, and it came on hard and fast. Within the last 4 hours it went from barely noticing anything, to whole lips puffing up, burning, roof of mouth has a wekrd texture, all the normal signs for me. Anyone have any experience with this? Not like me to habe back to back outbreaks like this. Side note, I am prescribed valacyclovir tablets and do use them when I have an outbreak.

I unfortunately got another cold sore ughhh 😩 but this time it is the worse I’ve ever had. The first picture is 5/18 around 2pm this picture is taken on 5/19 around 9pm. When I first felt the tingle I had already had that small dot so I quickly jumped to action and took 1,500mg of lysine and put on a cold sore patch thinking it wouldn’t spread or it would at least just get bigger but stay in that one spot . Well I don’t think the patches are for me as the second picture is horrifying to look at. I do have abreva on the sore in the second picture so it makes it look worse. The main thing is that I start a new job tomorrow and really don’t want everyone looking at my disgusting face. Is there anything I can do to minimize this by tomorrow or make it not look as bad because I know im at the point where I have to ride this sore out but I’m just crying everytime I have to look at my face. I tried to get a prescription for Valtrex but I have no doctor or insurance so I tried an online rx but it says my prescription won’t be in until 2-3 days after my approval from a doctor so I’m kinda just stuck. Also wondering if anyone else gets cold sores this bad as I don’t see many pictures online from people who get it this bad

Never had cold sores before but noticed these white bumps on my upper lip last night if I stretch my lips. I’m quite a nervous person about my health and so idk if I’m inventing symptoms in order to stress myself out.

Never had a cold sore before but my whole family gets them on mom/dad side. I have always been very cautious about not drinking/eating after any of them, even when they don’t have an outbreak. In April, I had my first cold sore. Tried Abreva and cold sore patches and it went away after 2 weeks. A week later, another one popped up in the same place. It’s been there for a month. Tried 3 different brands of patches & Abreva and still has no sign of going away. My doc prescribed Valacyclovir 3 weeks ago and said to take it before my next flare up. Could I take it now? Nothing else is working.

Small tiny White bumps (fordyce?) inside the lip has been there since the beginning of the year but I woke up with a raised bump on my lip this morning. Lips super dry didn’t moisturize yet lol also never felt a tingle or nothing prior. Just woke up and it’s here. Doesn’t burn when lips touch but did a bit when I brushed this afternoon. Idk if it was just the toothpaste

So just curious because I got tested not that long ago and yes it was a coldsore but they never happen right in the middle of my lip, it’s always to the side. I did take Valtrex the morning I woke up to the swelling.

hi!! I just wanted to ask if anyone thinks this is cold sores in my nostril or smth else like a skin infection? I’ve been diagnosed with hsv-1 on my lips years ago as a kid, but recently started getting these in my nostrils a couple years ago, it’s burning and stinging a lot and makes my nostril and eyes water, I also have a sore swollen lymph node in my neck :,)

Got my first cold sore at 30. I made out with a lot of people in my 20s so I could’ve gotten it anywhere 😞. Kicking myself about this now. I never had a cold sore so I thought I was fine. Was recently sick (bad allergies) and wiping my nose and mouth a lot. I’ve always dealt with acne so I just thought it was a pimple. I put a patch on it and it didnt really draw out like a pimple would. Was researching cold sores and I didnt initially have a cluster of bumps so didnt think anything of it. And thought maybe I wiped too hard? It’s been about 2 weeks and I’m starting to see the clusters form. It doesn’t and hasn’t hurt at all. So a little confused about that. Hate that I have to be out around people with it. Plan to go to the doctor to get tested to confirm. Not a great photo but what does everything think? Cold sore or something else?
