Hi I'm in Colombo for 4 days. Unfortunately I lost my reading glasses. Where I'm from you can walk into any Chemist / pharmacy and get off the shelf reading glasses. I went to a Chemist here but they pointed me to an optometrist shop. I went in and it didn't look like they had any. I tried to talk to the person there but they were on the phone abs I had to leave.

Can you get reading glasses that are already made here in Sri Lanka and if so where can I get them from. I'm travelling for a couple of more weeks and it would be handy to have.

Eg a shop will sell a bunch of premade glasses already made up with prescription 1, 1.5, 2, 2 5, 3 etc etc

Hi, I myself am queer and currently live in a rental with room+bathroom. But I want to move to an annex with living space, a kitchenette, separate utilities (so that I can fix an AC) and a damn place to dry clothes in the humud hell of Colombo. I can afford an annex by myself, but it would be far more economical to go for a two bedroom annex and share the cost rather than going for a one bedroom annex.

However, I do not want to live with a non-queer or a non-ally person either cuz then I'll have to hide my true self even within my own place. Hence this post...

My preference is around Nawala or along the 176 route but would go for a second bus route which cross onto 176 if it is a good place. 😌

Guys, which beach is best to go with my girlfriend for some private time? 😅 I'm thinking about Crow Island or Uswetakeiyawa Beach, but I'm open to other suggestions too.

Hey everyone! I recently moved to Colombo and I’m trying to find things to do on my own and hopefully meet new people along the way.

I came across a book club at Neko & Kopi, but I was honestly too shy to approach them 😅 Also not sure I can fully commit to regular reading, but I’d still love to try something similar just to get out there.

I’ve also seen some tabletop game meetups happening, but unfortunately they tend to fall on days I’m out of town.

This might sound random, but I’ve been pretty stressed lately and realised that sitting somewhere high up overlooking Colombo sounds incredibly peaceful. If anyone has access to a rooftop with a nice city view and is open to meeting a fellow Redditor for a casual hangout, let me know. Always happy to make a new bro too. Hey everyone (23M), after the recent Padel league that took place I’ve been alot more interested in playing padel.
