Happy 250th America! Here is a coin turning 250 years old today too. A 1776 evasion half penny likely minted in the colonies.

She is beat up but she is mine. The British mint didn’t make any Pennies in 1776 but the American counterfeiters didn’t get that message!

She is beat up and one of the only clear things is the date, but the date is clear as crystal. The obverse is shown upright. You can just make out George’s head and wreath crown.

Hope you all enjoy it. I have had ribs coin for probably 7-8 years. Got it in a bulk British copper lot off eBay.

Today's pocket cob

One of my favorites. A beautiful triple dated cob from Potosi in 1678 with an amazing original crack.

I recently picked up this 1776 KGIII copper with a bunch of other cull colonials, and I think this one might be a Machin’s Mills evasion copper. Any insight?

1763 issue N.J. 3 Shillings

Hello all. I live in Woodbridge NJ. This was printed by James Parker who established NJ’s first permanent printing press in my town. He had a very fascinating life and even apprenticed with Benjamin Franklin. Enjoy

The Crown Jewels

With the purchase of a 1785 nova constellatio in MS62BN, I finally completed my favorite display today. When I was 13, I bought my first Fugio cent raw for $400 in 2019. Ever since then I was hooked. While this certainly isn’t the end of my collecting journey, it is definitely a landmark that I am proud to share!
