Does anyone know how strictly Centennial Park enforces the sunset closing time?

I sometimes stay there later in the evening, and I’m mainly worried about leaving a little too late and finding that the gates are already locked. Has anyone ever had their car stuck inside, or do they make sure everyone can drive out before locking the gates?

Does anyone have any good recommendations and experiences with apartments in the Columbia area? My girlfriend and I are moving there soon and unfortunately don’t have time to visit between jobs. I’ve been doing thorough research and it seems like the main problem in the area is car theft and break ins. I’ve been planning accordingly to avoid that issue but unfortunately doing research on apartments only informs me with bad 1 star reviews or fake 5 star reviews.

I understand Columbia is generally safe but there are spots to avoid. It is hard to get good information regarding if an apartment complex would good to live in without visiting and touring, which is why I am coming to you for help please! I would tour every apartment if I could.

I prefer to shop local and need to purchase some new materials. Any recommendations are helpful!

I didn't know anything about junk fees before attending a Renters Town Hall in Columbia last week. The advocates studying this issue say a lot of Howard County renters they spoke with have dealt with fees for trash valet, WiFi service, package deliveries and parking (even when the resident doesn't own a car)

👋🏻 my wife and I are moving to Columbia soon, (side note, it’s been a dream location of ours, we are super excited to join the community 🥳)

tldr: looking for tips and feedback on people’s experience dealing with EV charging in Columbia communities w/o a personal garage or ability to install one out front.

Context:
One complicating factor with our move is that we have a bolt (full EV) and we are moving to a townhome community by lake elkhorn. We are losing our easy access to charger. We anticipated this and figured worst case scenario we should be able to trade it in without too much of a blow if nothing else.

I noticed the nearby library had a decent number of chargers, but they’ve regularly been in use. I guess it’s safe-ish enough to leave overnight? I wouldn’t mind dropping it there and walking to and from occasionally but I imagine it gets competitive.

The hoa community we are moving to doesn’t have anything at the moment AFAIK, and I would assume that’s an uphill battle. Also assuming we won’t be able to do a level one charging cord since we’d have to run it across the sidewalk. We don’t have access to one at our work locations.

I am looking for a place to get my daughter’s ears pierced. She’s 6 years old, and I have heard many times that I should take her to a professional piercing parlor rather than a kiosk or store at the mall. Does anyone have a good recommendation? I do not know of any in the area.

Does anybody happen to know what happened in a parking garage next to the Carefirst Building near Merriweather( off of Merriweather Dr?)?Lots of police.

There was two cars broken into last night. Nothing new but kinda odd it was only Hyundai and they didn't break the glass. They just broke the door handle off. No offense to Hyundai users but I don't recall them ever being targeted. Has anyone else seen this recently in EC/Columbia?

Hello. Recently moved to Columbia from out west and was wondering if there were public tracks available to residents. I used the high school tracks at centennial and Howard over the summer but with school starting soon I figure I will need an alternative. Or are these track still available to the public during the school year?

Any go-to spots of yours? I've just been trying to choose the best ones at the grocery store. I tried the Korean market in Ellicott City but it wasn't too impressed. Might have just been a bad day though. Also any yellow watermelons?

Any good dive bars or pubs in the area? Looking for a place to catch a baseball game, etc every once in a while

i don't really want to spend a lot of money. Are there any thrift stores that have interesting dresses? I might have to just get whichever dress at the Mall in Columbia.
