Give me suggestions for my team

Hi guys,

First time posting. I finally hit master rank. I am so happy I got to do this with my favourite pokemon mega charizard y (i know it's basic😐 ). But I have always thought mega charizard Y is the coolest looking pokemon. Just wish it got the dragon typing when it came out. I don't like the design of mega charizard x. So I was so happy when I learned mega charizard Y is the most viable pokemon right now competitively.

Any getting off topic. I got to master rank. But it wasn't easy. I kept loosing to so many teams. Can you guys give me any suggestions how to make my team better? I am on a mission to make the best mega charizard y team possible for the current meta. Help me out. Thanks

How to improve my SunRoom Kanto Starters team?

Hey everyone, I wanted to share a dual-mode Sun + Trick Room (SunRoom) squad featuring all three fully evolved Kanto starters and get your feedback on how to optimize it.

The Core Idea & Gameplan The goal is to provide two distinct modes depending on matchup: a high-speed offensive Sun mode and an explosive Trick Room mode, with Farigiraf tying everything together by blocking priority (Fake Out, Prankster).

Fast Sun Mode (Charizard-Y + Chlorophyll Venusaur): Charizard sets immediate Drought on Mega Evolution. Venusaur outspeeds the vast majority of the unboosted metagame under Sun, firing off high-damage Solar Beams, Sludge Bombs, and Earth Power for coverage. Charizard acts as a heavy special cannon while supporting with Helping Hand.

Trick Room Mode (Farigiraf + Torkoal / Mega Blastoise / Sylveon): Farigiraf guarantees Trick Room setup thanks to Armor Tail shutting down opposing priority. Once Room is active, Torkoal drops devastating full-HP Eruptions in the Sun, while Mega Blastoise dishes out spread Water Spouts (or mega-boosted Aura Sphere/Dark Pulse) and provides Fake Out utility. Sylveon adds consistent Fairy spread damage with Pixilate Hyper Voice and disruption via Yawn.

What are your thoughts on this team? Where i can improve my synergy?

Hey guys I'm trying to make a team around skeledirge, oranguru and empoleon and I need help!

So I've been taking a tweak at this team I've conjured up. It's a trick room setup team. Kind of. The problem with it is that skeledirge is my favourite starter next to empoleon and I've been trying to use them to the best of my abilities but they keep falling short. The stupid gambit and fish keeps ruining my game and I was hoping to see if you guys have any idea on how to improve his team. I've been trying different Pokémons to fit the fire-water-grass core but none of them fit. You might be wondering where is sinistcha and well, it's an awkward fit. Like really awkward. I don't want to get rid of oranguru but it seems that I have too more and more. Please keep empoleon and skeledirge on this team and keep it as a trick room team. Need help with a solid team.

How to transition from casual playing to competitive teambuilding & decision-making? Need general guidance.

Hi everyone! I’ve always been a casual Pokémon player. Back in FireRed, I used to easily defeat my friends. Recently, we started playing fan games with modern mechanics and full Pokédexes. At first I was doing fine, but recently I got completely destroyed. I realized my teambuilding and playstyle are very outdated compared to modern competitive play. I want to improve in general and be prepared for future battles. I’d love your advice on: Teambuilding basics: How do you choose 6 synergy-based Pokémon instead of just picking favorites? What roles (sweepers, walls, pivots, hazard setters) should a balanced team have? Types & Coverage: How do I avoid common teambuilding traps where half my team gets swept by a single threat? In-battle decision making: How do I stop playing passively and start predicting switches? EVs, IVs & Natures: What are the most important entry-level concepts I need to master first? Any guides, rule-of-thumb tips, or teambuilding frameworks would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Is this a good build for Scizor?

I’m gonna be honest I know nothing about competitive Pokemon, but I’ve been collecting ribbons lately and as part of the friendship ribbon I had to feed him loads of berries which tanked my stats, so I thought I might try giving him a Buff Attacker build

Lmk what you’d change in terms of stats/moves

help me improve my team 🙏🙏🙏

(doubles btw) just got into master ball 4 and feel like my win rate is stagnating at around 50%. i’m thinking of switching hydreigon to a diff late game sweeper because having both garchomp and hydreigon means that any late game fairy types or ice types absolutely destroy me, and i’ve been running into a lot of unexpected ice punch users 🫪. any suggestions would be super mega appreciated thanks chat ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥

Mega raichu x team update 9 game win streak!

So I recently decide to update my mega raichu x team and this what I came up and it so much better 😂

Both auroras and heat proof sinestcha though unconventional has work amazing for this team

I just went on 9 game win streak though it definitely could have been 10 or more I just got unlucky with a burn because I let eruption torkal sit on the field to long

That said I could use some help

Anybody got a bulky Basculegion stat

Basculegion is usually my late game closer so I was thinking about dropping off some of its attack cause last respect is so stronk

But I don’t know by how much is the question

I still want it to be a menace but it be nice if it could live some hits

Any help is appreciated and would love to hear people thoughts on the team I cooked up

It very fun but a little hard to pilot but when it goes it goes!

Mega Gyarados/ Metagross (Help me Improve) [Top 1k-2k]

This Team was initially inspired by StarAmiiga https://www.reddit.com/r/VGC/s/yIyMz2hSp3 (I did play this team a good bit)

I’m new to VGC, I’ve only been playing since champions and I’ve been stuck at around top 1k-2k for the past few days.

On StarAmiiga’s post you see a more detailed breakdown of the initial idea and the essential core of the team. I began changing it to the second team you see here with a bulkier MGyarados and the MMetagross instead of MYchu.
This version of the team felt incredibly strong but had some clear kryptonite matchups.

The idea is simple: Metagross and Gyarados cover each other’s weaknesses incredibly well and both pair great with coaching Sneasler as well as Pelipper to either weaken fire or boost Waterfall. Sinistcha worked well with the bulkier Setup oriented version of this team but I’ve been trying to adapt.

The problem is a great weakness to Intimidate, Rain teams with Archaludon can be a pain and Gholdengo.

The first team you see is my current one. It still feels incomplete but the idea of Gyarados/Metagross + Coaching Sneasler feels like it carries sooo much potential. This second team is also a bit more Balance. That’s why Gyarados is squishier now so it doesn’t have to rely on setting up as much.

Short breakdown:

Metagross
Covers Gyaras difficult Staraptor/Ychu/Floette and potentially rain matchups. You can take it into fire teams as long as you take peli. Generally good into Gyaras weaknesses to fighting/fairy.

Gyarados
Is great into many meta threats and again covers Metagross bad matchups really well. You can play it to set up if your opening is good otherwise it’s also very reliable neutral dmg. It’s incredibly naturally bulky and survives most super effective hits. You can bring it non mega for intimidate too and since it’s got good offensive stats it still dishes out dmg.

Sneasler
Great parent for both megas and just Sneasler you know…

Pelipper
I only bring the bird very situationally. Either there is opposing weather I want to disrupt or I’m bringing Metagross into fire types.
This team doesn’t really care to much about Snow but in the common MFroslass team Peli can be a good bring to deal big dmg to MScovillain and not be affected by burn.

Tsareena
Queenly Majesty is obv great against fake outs but Metagross is also vulnerable to sucker so it’s double great here. It generally works well into rain teams, different Blastoise compositions, Dragons and more fighting coverage is always nice for this team! (Archaludon can be a problem)

Kingambit
Its main job is to deter Intimdate users or just benefit greatly from them since this team is very physical. I don’t see a need for Iron Head since I have Metagross and Sneasler for fairy’s. (It’s the newest addition and probably not optimal EV wise)

I don’t see a point in doing a super detailed breakdown since some parts of this team are still a work in progress. (unless someone wants to play this team themselves)

This team is incredibly vulnerable in both team select and in game manoeuvring. But understanding the team I feel like there are potentially very little weaknesses if one pilots it well. Every game I lose I feel like it’s because of a mistake (cocky or missing obvious stuff sometimes) or because I’m not familiar with the enemy team and my brings are a bit scrambled. But ever game feels winnable.

My problem is that I’m quite new to both team building and the vgc so I’m afraid that I’m not capable of piloting this team to its full potential or fully rounding it out properly with the components it requires.
So I ask you veterans for help. 🙏

(I would love to play in ots too so prob no cheese XD)

Any ideas how this team was used?

I’m pretty new to competitive pokemon but I saw this team that placed 8th and I’m curious how to use it. It’s full of some of my favorite pokemon so I’d like to recreate it and see if I can’t have some luck. Thanks!

My Toxapex Pulled Off a 3v1 So I Had To Meme It!

For Context: My Opponent had taken out my other 3 Pokemon. (Charizard, Grimmsnarl & Hydreigon) Leaving Toxapex to take on a Choice Scarf Garchomp & 23% health, Sinistcha at 100% and a Staraptor who was poisoned but kept healing with Roost and Sinistchas Life Dew.

The Toxpex slowly took down Staraptor (who wasted all their Close Combats.) & Poisoned Sinistcha. Before my opponent made the mistake of locking Garchomp into Earthquake. It meant that he helped to take down Sinistcha while I kept spamming Wide Guard. While this was happening Toxapex was Slowly healing thanks to leftovers. Once all my Wide Guards were used, I hit Garchomp with an Infestation, this + Garchomps Earthquake and Rough Skin brough Toxapex down to 1% health. Next Turn I used a Baneful Bunker which won me the match.

And in case people don't believe me, here's the link to the match: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNfCOCDh-hc

Once again at masters, this team is so fun

Once again I’ve entered masters, compared to my previous team not much changed but moves been moved around, Slowking and Blastoise have officially retired for a greater purpose. Reading opponents has become a tad easier, but overall I’m really happy I’m still using my favorites to improve and rank this high

How much would the three OG Regis benefit from having access to Recover?

Always thought it was weird how this trio is all tanks/utility pivots with no solid recovery moves

Looking for gym leaders

Hey everyone! Sorry to bother you all 😅 I’m currently running a Pokémon League and looking for a few people who’d be interested in becoming Gym Leaders! 🏆

If anyone’s interested or wants more info, just let me know! 👀

🏆✨ OPULENT REGION POKÉMON LEAGUE — INFORMATION & GYM LEADER RECRUITMENT ✨🏆

Welcome to the Opulent Region Pokémon League!

Our community currently has 31 members and growing, and as the region continues to expand, we’re looking for dedicated Trainers who are interested in stepping up and becoming official Gym Leaders!

Whether you want to challenge the League, run your own Gym, or eventually fight your way toward becoming Champion, there’s a place for you in the Opulent Region.

👑 GYM LEADER QUALIFICATIONS

Interested in becoming a Gym Leader? Here’s what you need to know:

🎮 Must Play on Pokémon Champions

All official Opulent Region Gym Leaders must be able to participate in battles on the Pokémon Champions platform.

⏰ Time Commitment

Being a Gym Leader does not require you to be available every day or at specific hours.

The main time commitment is when your Gym is being challenged.

As the Gym Leader, you set the date and time that works for you. Your challenger must agree to the scheduled day and time before the Gym Battle takes place.

We understand that everyone has work, school, family, different time zones, and other responsibilities. The goal is to make being a Gym Leader fun and manageable—not a second job.

🏆 Pokémon Region — Gym Battle Rules

Welcome, Trainers! Every Gym in the region is designed to offer its own unique challenge. Please review these rules before beginning a Gym Battle.

🥉 1. Gym Leaders Set the Rules

The Gym Leader determines the rules for their Gym. Each Gym may have different battle formats, restrictions, team sizes, or special conditions.

⚔️ 2. Follow the Gym’s Rules

Once a Gym Leader explains their battle rules, Trainers are expected to follow them. Make sure you understand the rules before the battle begins.

🔄 3. Teams May Need to Change

Because each Gym has different rules, you may need to adjust your Pokémon, moves, items, or overall strategy between Gyms.

🌟 4. Gym Leader Ace & Mega Evolution Rule

@everyone — New rule for all Gym Leaders:

A Gym Leader’s Ace Pokémon does NOT have to naturally match their Gym’s type, as long as that Pokémon’s Mega Evolution gains the Gym’s type.

However, there is one important condition:

If the Gym Leader uses that Pokémon as their Ace, they MUST Mega Evolve it during the battle so that it becomes the appropriate Gym typing.

Example: If a Gym Leader runs a Dragon-type Gym, their Ace may be a Pokémon that isn’t normally Dragon-type if its Mega Evolution becomes Dragon-type. When that Ace is brought into a Gym Battle, the Gym Leader is required to Mega Evolve it.

This exception applies specifically to the Gym Leader’s Ace Pokémon and does not automatically allow the rest of the Gym Leader’s team to ignore their Gym’s typing requirements.

🤝 5. Respect the Gym Leader

Gym Leaders have final say regarding their Gym’s battle rules and rulings. Keep disagreements respectful and contact League Staff if a serious issue occurs.

🚫 6. No Cheating or Exploits

Hacked/illegal Pokémon, intentional exploits, or knowingly breaking a Gym’s rules are prohibited. Violations may result in the battle being forfeited.

🌐 7. Be Patient

Gym Leaders and Trainers may be in different time zones. Please allow reasonable time for battle tickets and scheduling.

🏅 8. Earn Your Badge

Defeat the Gym Leader under their Gym’s rules to earn that Gym’s Badge and continue your journey through the Pokémon League!

Every Gym is different. Adapt to their rules, overcome their Ace, and prove you have what it takes to become Champion! 🏆

Team advice

A problem I have with this team is i struggle to get aura veil up against other weather teams, which seems to be pretty common. I was thinking of replacing Corv with a mon that could get take care of some weather mons to make it easier to set up, but im not sure how realistic this is.

So far I was thinking maybe cerulege but again I'm unsure.
