Am I Screwed?
4 different bags. Moisture content seems…high? They appeared dryer when I first inoculated them around 3 weeks ago. The melted cheese looking one seems the most concerning.
Temperature in the room floats from 74-78 daily.
Used LC.

So I have been trying to grow mushrooms in an all in one grow bag. I used golden teacher and it's a 3lb grow bag. I inoculated it like 7 days ago but it doesn't appear to be doing anything at all. I put the whole entire syringe in it because I thought that was what you were supposed to do. I also accidentally inserted it through the filter patch on accident. Hoping that doesn't matter. Just don't know why it is not colonizing.
Bottom of tub, millet grain in CVG. Put into S2B a few days ago.
Am growing some Illusion Weavers in a small cynlindrical container . Set to fruiting conditions . This is day five.
The container smells very light and earthy. But why this deep yellow tiny yellowing?
Just opened. S2B two weeks ago. Is it contaminated? This is maybe my 7th tub and I have never met this smell or this type of surface before. It looks more like foam than mycellium
It's Day 9 and I have this kind of growth post introducing spores to my clean plates. I feel like the bigger ones are mold, given the top growth. Are the small ones Mycelium or is it all unsalvageable?
I spawned this tub at a 2:1 ratio of spawn to coir 18 hours ago, I have not cultivated in quite some time and I am surprised to already see little mycelium poking through the pseudolayer. I also saw some little brown/orange pins maybe? But I am wondering if I am just deluding myself, because I cant believe it would grow that fast.
BRF and Vermiculite. I did big jars and it's been going for a long time (about 10 weeks now). I lost one jar to contamination with black spots but these look to be going. Do I need to wait until it's at 100%?
Thank you!
As a newbie , I am neurotic about contamination . I cut the first flush , but the blue stumps and this generally weird looking cake had me nervous . I’ve put it outdoors in a plastic bag ( hedging my bets ) . Interested in opinions on whether it’s contamination or neurosis .
All of the liquid culture just pooled at the bottom of the bag, after a week it’s looking kinda funky. Am I hosed?
Buried a trich contaminated cake and a week or so later poof!! Shocked it actually worked. Interesting fruits.
Made two big pickle jars with popcorn to see what happened, this one had Tidal Wave LC from spore boss, but I think the jar is so big it made it sterilize wrong in the middle and bottom of the jar, at 15 psi pressure cooker for 2 hours, LC seems to not be contaminated since its clean in a Millet bag I have, so what could be the issue? Too much water, bad jar or maybe too much moisture? Also, I wanted to grab some kernels to do agar, how bad of an idea is that, last pic is top surface from where I'd grab the grain
I inoculated this AIO bag with Black Betty Gates LC 3 weeks ago. Today was the first time I’ve looked at it. I saw no colors, just these white circles, which I hope are the start of the mycelium.
Would love to hear what you all think….
Hey, I've been trying to grow for about 3-4 months and I've had so many trich problems.
Literally every S2B seems to go ok, then about 2-3 weeks in trich pops up before fruiting happens.
My process is evolving. Started broke boi tek, then pressure cooker. Then made LC and tested it on agar, currently growing jars from proven agar.
But even the past jars from the LC that's not contaminated haven't been workIng for S2B.
I've done a lot of research, and I'm careful. I can't understand it.
Current method:
Using brown rice in 1l/1qt jars. Filter disc, and self healing injection port on jars.
Innoculating jars in a pop up SAB. Set it up in advance. Spray the crap out of it with 70% isopropyl. Leave it for a few hours. Spray again before innoculating.
Spray the jars before innoculating.
Was innoculating with LC. The LC has now spawned 20-30 agar plates no contam.
Now moving to agar but haven't bulked any yet.
Using fresh sterile needles and syringes.
Jars are all ok. If contam I don't S2B them. All fully colonized, no uncolonized grain.
When going S2B I use a tub, not modified, loose lid no seal.
Use field capacity 100% coir, 1:1 or 2:1 ratio. No added ingredients to coir.
Coir originally pasteurized using bucket tek.
I know there are different opinions, but because I've had so many problems, I now err on the side of caution.
Use gloves, mask, and spray with isopropyl. Pre spray tubs, and also give a wipe down before spawn. Spray gloves before using.
I don't touch the jars anymore or use a spoon, just break and shake into tub.
If spawning more than one tub, I change gloves in between.
I have just started pressure cooking the coir as a precaution because I don't know what else to do.
When spawning, I've tried (pseudo) casing, no casing.
I've tried spraying and no spraying before closing lid. If spraying, I use water that has been boiled twice and then cooled.
I've cracked the lid to go straight to fruiting, and tried neglect tek.
Done about 10 S2Bs and none have worked. They all get trich at some point. The first few, I get it. The next few... maybe, but all of them?
I have no idea what to do or why it keeps happening?
The next batches will be from agar to grain with pressure cooked coir, so I'm hoping at some point something will work.
Am I missing anything, or is there anything else I can do?
Thinking I should probably harvest and toss the cake
Honestly just happy to get something
Hi guys, I've been noticing that some of the caps are looking a bit bumpy. I'm not sure if it's a reaction to some type of contam or to environmental conditions or what it is?!
Does anybody knows what causes that?
Thanks in advance 🫂
There's a weird blue/green tint to the mycelium in this jar. I just inoculated the grain on 8/6, and it seems like it's colonizing way too quickly. I'm worried. Can anyone confirm whether or not it's contaminated?
