Ctrld is removing router support in 2.0

Based on documentation and multiple GitHub commits, ctrld is preparing to removing support for router platforms.

I don’t see any rationale or discussion of this; in fact, in a discussion on their site last month about fixing an aspect of router mode, their response was essentially “this is a good idea and we hope to implement it”. That’s a lot different than, “this is a dead platform and will only receive bug fixes going forward”.

I can speculate a number of reasons that they may want to go this route, from support burden to monetization. But the fact is, automatic router support is one of the major differentiators for ctrld, even with its occasional warts.

Any thoughts on this? Am I the only one who finds this to be the killer feature? Any staff care to provide context I’ve missed?

How to exclude local WiFi networks on iOS?

Hi,

Since the official iOS documentation at https://docs.controld.com/docs/ios-platform only partially matched what I saw when installing ControlD on my iPhone:

Where exactly can I exclude local WiFi networks for that iPhone?

The IOS - Manual screen, as shown in the iOS documentation (and below here), never showed up for me, no matter what I tried.

Please help.

Control D raised their prices by 50%

I was checking out Control D’s pricing page (https://controld.com/plans?step=plans) and noticed they recently increased their prices.

The cost for Some Control went up from $20 to $30 per year, and the Full Control plan jumped from $40 to $60 per year. That’s a hefty 50% price increase across the board.

Has anyone else noticed this or decided if it’s still worth it?
