Replacing Converge Skyworth ONT with ODI DFP-34X-2C2 GPON SFP stick on MikroTik RB5009

Just documented my successful swap from the stock Skyworth GN630V ONT to an ODI DFP-34X-2C2 SFP stick directly in the RB5009.

Key points that mattered on my line:

• Only needed the original GPON serial + transparent VLAN mode (VLAN 10 handoff to RouterOS DHCP client)
• No MAC cloning, LOID, PLOAM password, or heavy spoofing required
• Important gotcha: SC/APC (Converge fiber) vs SC/UPC (stick) connector mismatch — solved with a simple APC-to-UPC patch cord

Is Converge ICT an OpenWRT VPN hater?

Sorry di ko talaga alam anong tamang flair na gagamitin kase need ko talaga ng tulong pero at the same time, need rin talaga ng discussion neto e

So ayun nga, bat ba etong Converge e parang anlakas naman ata ng tama na bibigyan ka ng gantong ping, ang inconsistent, lagi RTO, e syempre mawawalan ka ng gana magtrabaho pag ganto diba, finding out na ang consistent ng VPN ng ibang coworkers ko, tas pumapatak lng ping nila ng 120+ pero di tataas ng ganto. Sa ibang co-workers ko kase they are using Globe and PLDT.

Baka naman may way para ma fix to kase nakakahassle. Oo consistent nga pero yung ping asa 210-290ish naman. Please help

Bulakan, Bulacan outage na naman

Sobrang nakakafrustrate. I have commented on this before pero talagang pababa ang quality ng service ni Converge. Subscriber na kami since 2018 pero this year, wala pa sa kalahati ng taon 3 times na LOS sila. Nagumpisa ito 2023, first LOS namin na once lang pero dahil pa ito sa sumabit sa truck ung linya sa labas. Last year, 5 times. Ilang beses pa kaya this year. Haay Converge. Sana naman wag ka sumunod sa landas ni PLDC.

PS ang pakunswelo lang, may ganyan na update si Converge at kapag nabalik na.

Marcos Alvarez Area outtage daw

We have lost our internet connection on May 8, May 20 na pero still haven't resolved it. A pole fell on the other side, then Meralco did it, they cut the wires on the other side, and the internet line was also connected, then when I called Converge, a technician came to troubleshoot. They said it was a connection problem and I called, chatted and emailed EVERYDAY. Up until now, nothing has happened and our neighbor was already connected earlier because they said they were connecting to a different box, so that's why. Customer support only says escalated with "major follow up" and usually just copy paste responses through chat or email.

What they told us was that if the line is down, it's faster to just apply for a new connection than to fix it. That's how they'll connect it to a different box. It seems like the process is a bit biased because they say it can be connected the same day, even today, as long as you fill out the application form. I just hate that the connection is quick before the name/contract is installed but when it comes to repairs, it's like I have to beg and shed tears just to have someone check and even take days to fix. Converge is literally fcked up planning to switch to pldt or sky fiber at this point.

Avail converge or nah?

Good day everyone. Currently sa new subdivision na lilipatan ko puro 3rd party internet (IICS, sekyur link, mitztian, ale fiber) palang meron at si converge palang yung kilalang nakapasok. Wfh ako at hindi ko alam kung alin ang dapat piliin. Malakas signal sa globe/tm pero i need strong wired internet since pang backup lang ung prepaid. Dahil sa bad reviews na nababasa ko kay converge at hesitant din ako sa mga 3rd party internet sino ba sa tingin nyo mas better? TIA

NAP Box Broken, Converge has Done Nothing

maya't-maya akong nagfofollow up sa converge regarding sa issue namin since 2 weeks na kaming walang internet. for the past few days they have been telling me na fiber optic issue, but the fiber cable has been changed over 4 times already this year.

now they are telling me na yung mismong box na nila may problema, and still there's no timeframe regarding this.

fuckass converge isa't kalahati kayong tanga na walang maayos na service. csr niyo puro spiel lang at acknowledgement, but no resolution. absolutely horrendous

Converge with Sky TV

I upgraded my Sky TV plan from Standard to Premium, and the billing was already updated to the Premium rate. The problem is that the channel lineup still hasn’t changed. Most of the channels are still the same as the Standard plan, while several Premium channels are either missing, unavailable, or showing no signal.

I already tried rebooting the TV box and checking the connection multiple times, but the issue is still ongoing. It’s frustrating getting billed for Premium service when the Premium channels aren’t even accessible yet.

Customer support confirmed that the upgrade is already active on my account, but the actual channels say otherwise. Has anyone experienced the same thing? How long did it take before the Premium channels became available?

Unauthorized upgrade

Hi! I advice everyone na magbantay sa Go Fiber App or email nila kasi I just experienced na ma-upgradr yung plan ko from FiberX 1500 to Netflix Bundle 2298.

May 13: I saw notifs sa email ko so I immediately made a report through a call. They said they'll make a report and see what they can do

May 14 (am): I followed up sa chat and they said I should settle my balance first before they downgrade. Another agent sa chat said they can't do anything about this because it was processed through a microsite which needed certain info. So when I thought na nagmamatigas na sila, I involved NTC na. Additionally, I told them that if it was my information used, this could be a privacy issue na.

May 14 (pm): I went to the business centre in Pasig since my office is just close. The agent seemed surprised sa case, probably because first time lang na encounter. They asked me to write a request letter to downgrade the plan. I wrote one and insisted I didn't initiate, authorize, or consent to any updates made to my plan. in the letter. Kinuha din specimen signature ko.

May 15: Basically no movement na. Closely monitored daw and escalated na to the right teams.

May 18: I just received an email from NTC forcing Converge to reply and within the hour, it was back to FiberX 1500 na.

For anyone who experienced the same thing, you can do what I did as well.

Need insights po: thru what channel do you contact converge customer service and how fast po sila mag respond?

Also how is you experience sa site visit ng technician? Was informed our modem is offline due to a fiber issue and was given a ticket reference # for an onsite visit

Just checking if other users are also experiencing issues? Sabi kasi ng support sa poste daw namin prob. Mahina daw powe from poste to modem. But medyo doubtful ako lol. Baka outage lang.

ganto rin ba converge app niyo?

biglang lumobo sa 7k ang nasa converge app namin pero monthly ako nagtatanong sa CS nila at ang palaging sagot ay nasa 1.3k - 1.5k lang ang balance namin.

upon checking now naging 7122 na ang balance sa app.

Backup Provider

Curious, what's your backup provider whenever you get LOS all of a sudden?
By backup, I meant a reliable one when you can still do either the same thing on it or at the very least you could still do work with it.

Is your backup provider wireless?
Or, wired?

Is it on Postpaid?
or, prepaid?
