Why do bars in Florida buy cornhole sets and then just let them collect dust in the corner?

I'm in South Florida and I've noticed this in probably a dozen different bars. There's a set sitting there, bags on top, nobody touches it. Meanwhile the same bar has a packed pool table and a dartboard with a waitlist.

My family plays at home all the time and it never fails — everyone gets into it. But in bars it just... sits there.

Is this a Florida thing? A setup thing? Do bars not actually promote it or just buy it thinking it sells itself? Genuinely curious if other people notice this or if I'm just going to the wrong places.

Looking for Cornhole Vendor

Hello,
About 3 years ago we attended the Washington County Fair in Richmond, RI and there was a vendor there who did wood burning who also made custom cornhole scoreboards. In moving we lost his card and now he is not a vendor there anymore.

Tried to look online to find it with no luck. Hoping someone maybe knows what this business is. I remember they were located in CT.

Thank you!

Playing on uneven grass..

At my house I have the option of playing in the grass or on pavement. I have a strerch of grass that's almost like it was meant for cornhole when it comes to the length and width. It just works.

What I am having issues with though as I'm sure most people, the ground is so uneven. Dirt displaced. Rocks here, or there. Grass patchy. Etc.

I see there are cornhole levels. Are they any more special than a normal level? I really have a hard time understanding how a normal level would actually ensure that the boards are placed right anyhow. Obviously the roll is supposed to be level, but the pitch has a normal slope so it'll never be "level".

All of this is so confusing to me. 😂😅

Also: I hear some people use crushed cans, some people use spare bags, others use something else..

I'm just looking for the absolute best experience possible without having to go to a park or gym. Being able to play outside my house knowing that my boards are placed correctly really just makes me feel better and gives me one less thing to blame me being terrible on. 😅 I sometimes go to the park and play on the basketball court and the difference in performance there vs. at my house is very noticeable and board placement has to be a big factor.

Any advice? Thanks in advance!!

Cornhole Board Building

Hey all,

I build cornhole boards, I started last year as a gift for my father in law and it has taken off since then, I’m at about 35 sets sold in 10 months. The cornhole league I play in currently has 1/2” boards with 1x material frames Brad nailed through the top. I will be building 3/4” boards with 2x material frames that I pocket screw from the bottom. I was asked if I could make it so the tops come off in case they want to switch designs easier for new sponsored logos etc. Normally I glue before I pocket screw, if I were to screw only so they can come off/be switched in the future, do we think the glue helps eliminate bounce at all by keeping the board adhered between screw holes? I usually do 5 screws on the 4’ sides, 4 screws on the 2’ and 3 on cross braces (plus 2 screws attaching the frame pieces together at all intersections). I know that my build will already be an upgrade because of the thicker materials, but I want to make sure if my name is on something it comes out great and I’ve never not glued a top on.

If your wonderful, lovely, otherwise amazing spouse left your rolling carrying case full of *many* sets of ACL bags outside where dogs then peed on it and everything stinks, how would you attempt to address the odor?

The rolling case, all of the individual set carrying cases, and every single set of ACL bags smell of dog urine... How would you attempt to address it?

I'm in total shock and absolutely devastated. This is not only likely around $1k worth of items, but some of it belonged to my recently deceased parent. It's irreplaceable. I'm trying to recoup as much as possible, so I'm hoping for miracle advice here.

(Please be kind. I can be humorous, so you can be humorous too, but this is a total blow to my heart.)

Bags for newer player

About a week ago or so I came here to get your opinions on which boards to get, as I had $200. I was given advice to save up a little more and get a quality set.

So I got the XFactors from West GA Cornhole. I plan on putting a lot of time in and trying my best to be proficient. I've played back yard cornhole my entire life, I've always loved it.

Now I'm say on trying to find some bags that will allow me to practice proficiently as a novice.

Any suggestions? Are the blemished bags from ACE pro bags?

Seeking Cornhole Board Input

I'm considering buying a weather-proof board. Do these boards perform differently from a normal board? Are they slicker, causing bags to slide rather than stick? Which type of board do you prefer?

As someone brand new to the sport, what’s the story on all of these bag reps?

I posted looking for bags in a couple of local FB groups, and the amount of effort that all of these guys are putting in to get me to buy their bags seems like it can’t possibly be worth whatever commission they’re making. They can’t be making more than like $20-30/set right? It just seems like the juice isn’t worth the squeeze when you account for the time they spend messaging me, and then driving across town to drop them off.

$200 boards

I have 200 to spend (wish I had more). Im trying to see what boards I should get?

I was thinking the WSOC ones on AZ or the ACL rec ones at dicks.

Any advice?
