Labor Day Weekend Visit

Hello!

I’m planning to bring my wife up for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary and I know she would love the Glass Museum. Having never been to Corning are there good cafes, restaurants, consignment shops and boutique shopping?

Thanks!!

Hi, Corning!

Aloha, friends! My wife and I are driving up today for our annual visit to your lovely burgh. Three weeks ago while swimming in the ocean, Poseidon decided that he liked my necklace and just had to have it for himself. Since I’m going to be in your town for the next few days, can you recommend a spot aside from CMOG in which a gentleman might find a handmade necklace? Any shops that sell the wares of local artists? Thank you for any tips.

Corning women - any problems with Guthrie?

Hi everyone,

For all the women in the area who go to Guthrie for healthcare (and specifically their OB/GYN clinic), I'm wondering if you've felt your health concerns have been dismissed by your provider and/or you've received inadequate support for pain management.

If you have, please send me a DM.

Thanks!

Question about school transportation

Hi, guys! Incoming transplant here (bet you're tired of these posts). I have a few questions that I really hope someone with elementary school kids can help me with.

  1. How do buses work? Do they stop by each kid's house (like back in my days, centuries ago), or do kids congregate at a designated bus stop to be collected all at once? Carder school if it matters.
  2. Is anyone familiar with Spencer Hill/Hidden Meadow/Hilltop/Pine Shadow trl area? Are there any elementary aged kids in those neighborhoods? Is it a mistake not getting a house in city proper? We're so conflicted. On the one hand, we want some space for gardening and exploring. On the other hand, we don't want them to be without friends nearby to do said exploring.
  3. Do you know anyone working for the local hospitals? What's it like to work for them (pay, treatment, culture)? I'm a nurse.
  4. Where is the nearest children's hospital?

Thank you! It's a huge life change and I am honestly freaking out.
