Canadian government spent tens of millions on secret Palantir contract
theijf.orgRemoving my data from broker sites and moving away from big tech platforms
I’ve been trying to move away from big platforms and clean up my online footprint a bit. Closed Facebook and Instagram because I was barely using them anymore and hated how much random tracking was attached to everything. Still can’t find a real replacement for WhatsApp though, so that one is staying for now. The bigger issue was spam. I was getting an insane amount of junk emails, random texts, and calls that made it pretty clear my info was sitting in too many places. I started using Cloaked mostly for the data broker removal, but the aliases ended up being just as useful. Now I use separate emails and numbers for dumb signups, random logins, and sites I do not fully trust. Day and night, for the first time in years my phone IS ACTUALLY quiet. Google stuff is still on need to kinda replace those but I'm not too tech savvy so for now this will have to do. Anyone know a good alternative to Whatsapp?
iOS privacy
I get that an iPhone itself is fairly private (allegedly) but I know telemetry and stuff is sent to Apple, which isn’t ideal but I’d prefer them having and hogging it over another corp selling it. I personally like iOS over android and don’t want to switch to graphene. Is there any settings that would limit the data sent?

digitaljournal.com42 Years 0 Ideas = Mark Zuckerberg wants Meta to launch its own prediction market
How come humanity gives so many resources & time to realize the hallucinations of somebody who didn't have a single original idea in 42 years, while the people who have solutions to solve our actual problems are left without them?

so what about the cars?
as far as i know, cars, like phones and PCs, have privacy and ownership problems, they steal and sell your data and ive even heard things like a remote kill switch in cars, making your car efffectively not yours. since cars have usb ports i wondered if there are any privacy focused operational sytems/mods that can be installed in cars.
