Which House Is More Your Style?

2573 Elden Ave D, Costa Mesa, CA

2404 Niagara Way, Costa Mesa, CA

If you were buying in Costa Mesa and these were your only 2 options, which would you pick?

#1: Eastside Costa Mesa. $1,995,000. 4 bed, 3 bath, 2400 sf. Detached home. Built in 2023.

#2: Central Costa Mesa. $849,900. 3 bed, 2 bath, 1240 sf. Townhome. Built in 1965.

Both have a first floor bedroom and bath.

Would you pick modern luxury and an Eastside location at a higher price OR a more conservative price in a charming, popular community?

Renters deposit

I’m moving out of my apartment after 10 years because the new landlord has jacked up the rent. I asked about my security deposit and the landlord was noncommittal. What resources are available to fight for my deposit if it comes to that?

Vent: I hate the loud supercars here at night

I moved down here from San Jose, a place with a ton of car culture too, but the amount of D Bags with expensive cars who want to cruise down Costa Mesa late at night is atrocious. San Jose is also far denser and has more people. I even lived right next to the highway.

Every single day since April I have been disturbed by a ton of loud exhaust noise, sometimes even woken up by it.

End of rant.

Looking for a female roommate in Costa Mesa

Hi everyone!
I’m a recently graduated and will be moving to SoCal for work and am looking for a female roommate.
My office is going to be in Irvine, but I’m open to nearby areas too - Costa Mesa, Santa Ana, Tustin, Newport Beach, etc. I’m okay with around a 20–30 min commute.

A little about me:
- Female, 21
- Working full-time in tech
- Clean, respectful, and easygoing
- Looking for a safe, nice area with things to do nearby
- Ideally hoping to find someone to apartment hunt with for a 2B2B, but also open to joining an existing setup.
- Budget is flexible depending on the place, but I’m mainly trying to find something reasonable while still being in a fun/social area.

If you’re also moving to the area or looking for a roommate, feel free to DM me!

24 Hour Fitness Removing Cycle Rooms?!

I noticed that they turned the cycle room into a recovery room for an extra monthly fee at the triangle square location! It happened a couple of months ago during their mini-remodel, and I just assumed that they would bring them back…..It’s now months later, and no sign of those damn bikes! I go to grit cycle, but it was nice to have an alternative that I didn’t have to pay extra for!

I think this is just a trend throughout the 24 hour locations trying to maximize their space, and generate more income. I guess that bankruptcy is still hitting them hard.

Rip Cycle rooms, basketball courts, racquetball courts, towel service…

Contacts for KIT + Salty Horse?

I’m trying to get in direct contact with the teams at KIT Coffee (Westcliff Dr.) and Salty Horse (I am not OC-based). Does anyone have a number or manager contact they could share?

KIT doesn’t have a number online and isn’t responding to email.

Salty Horse’s number online is out of service and doesn’t have an email listed.

Thank you!

Housing near OCC?

I'm looking for housing near Orange coast college. My budget is around $2,800 and am looking for a 2bd 1bath for me and a roommate, the only thing I need is for this place to have no pest issues because hell nah... also I have no car but I'm willing to do a 30 minute walk. I swear I can't find a reliable place, and I don't want to bother a stranger at their home since I like being awake and talking after midnight.

Apartment or Rental Recs

I did search the subreddit to see if this has been asked before. I didn’t find any helpful info.

I’m looking for apartments in the area but not necessarily the luxury apartments. The problem I’m running into is the apartment listings look great but then I check the ratings on google and yelp and they are terrible. They either have issues with pests or mold. I also see a lot about poor management but that’s less of a concern. However, the mold and pests are a deal breaker.

Can anyone recommend any apartments or private rentals that don’t have pests or mold issues?

Thank you in advance!

EDIT:
For more context it’s just me and my two dogs. So I’m considering studio or 1 bedroom. I don’t want roommates. And my budget is flexible but I want something reasonable so preferably below 3K.
