Application Error

Application Error

Hey everyone!

I am applying to a PhD program in Coventry but for some reason the PGRplus portal is messing up. I keep getting an error: "General error: Retry failed after 4 tries" whenever I try to upload my transcripts and certificates in the qualifications section of the application. Can someone please help me out or tell me what to do or who to talk to?

Tech Networking with Purpose: Leicester Tech & AI Meetup

Noticed most tech & AI events are usually in places like London or Nottingham, so my friends and I are thinking of starting a casual Leicester Tech & AI meetup.

Nothing overly formal, just a no-pressure space for people interested in tech, AI, careers, startups, etc., to connect, chat, and share experiences.

Open to all levels, whether you’re experienced in the industry, a student, career switcher or just curious about tech.

Still early stages and no official date yet, just trying to see if there’s genuine interest locally 👀

Am i goo enough for automotive eng? coventry university?

Hi guys, I’ve always loved cars, and since I’m about to graduate high school, I’ve been thinking about pursuing Automobile Engineering as my degree. The thing is, while I truly love cars, I’m not very strong academically and my marks aren’t great. Because of that, I’ve started doubting myself and wondering if I can really do it. Will I be able to handle the engineering math and physics? Even my parents doubt whether I can manage it.

It would really help if someone who has already done this, especially at Coventry University in the UK, could share their experience. Did you guys struggle academically? How difficult was it really? I’d really appreciate any advice.

Building a better way to find part-time work at Warwick - would you use this?

Hey everyone,

I'm exploring an idea for a student gig work platform at Warwick and Coventry.

The problem I'm trying to solve: Finding part-time work as a student sucks. Most jobs want 15+ hour commitments, applications take forever, and the whole process feels outdated.

What I'm thinking: An app where you can pick up short shifts (2-4 hours) at campus bars, events, and local businesses - book on your phone, get paid quickly, no long-term commitment.

Hey reddit mods, this is a survey not an advert so chill out!!!

Before I build this - I have questions:

  1. Do you currently work part-time? How did you find your job?

  2. What's the biggest pain point - finding work, scheduling around lectures, or something else?

  3. Would you use an app for booking short shifts, or is there a better solution I'm missing?

  4. Do you think employers will be open to using something like this?

I'm starting at Warwick in September and genuinely need to figure this out for myself too. If you're willing to share your experience (or just want to hear what I build), check comments for the link

Thanks!
